Engraving By Jack

I really recommend that you go there if u need engravings. He has very reasonable prices and he does a great job! He finished my job in just a few minutes while I was waiting! Amazing!

I consider myself a thrifty person so when I called about getting some things engraved with names and quotes I made sure to ask for pricing. Jack quoted a little high at first, but then matched what I would have payed at «Things Remembered» per word. He exceeded my expectations when he agreed to engrave 9 words for $ 15. Now that’s my is kinda bargain! I will definitely be a repeat costumer! Thanks, Jack, for the great service; everything looks great and I am a happy customer!

Jack is one of a kind. I had a huge last minute project and he was extremely helpful getting unique merchandise shipped over night. He made time for me to come to the shop and supervise the accuracy of the engraving. Can’t get any better. Price was super reasonable. Never go to the mall type. They charge ridiculous prices and don’t care how the product turns out. I jack.

I hate giving the guy only three stars, but there are a couple of things he could improve on…
I’m knocking out my wedding checklist like nobody’s business, and getting the rings engraved was another easy item. Or so I thought.
This was actually the 5^th place I went in a single day trying to get our rings done. One place had to send them out for a week (nope, not handing over my engagement ring), one place was closed for inventory, two places in the Jewelry Exchange were randomly closed without explanation, and then I found Jack on the 7^th floor.
His shop/​showroom is pretty sparse, so I don’t think he gets a lot of walk-​in business, but there I was. He was pleasant enough, and said he could have them done by Tuesday (this was a Friday). Since the engraver was right on his desk, I asked if he could get my engagement ring done now. He seemed a little put out, but was nice enough and did it in a couple of minutes, and I left the other two rings with him. He said I could pick them up any time on Tuesday. I was a little disappointed that there was only one font available and letters could only be in all caps, but that was good enough for what I wanted and I’d already been five places trying to get this done.
I noticed after I left the shop that the engraving in my engagement ring, while it was correct and looked nice, had left a few burs in the metal and the ring was really scratchy on the inside.
I returned on Tuesday to pick up the two wedding bands, only to find that he hadn’t touched them and I had to wait for him to engrave them. I mentioned the burs on my engagement ring and showed him were the metal was poking up, and he tried to pass it off as «the nature of the metal» and seemed reluctant to do anything about it. I saw all of equipment he had in the back (FYI, I worked in fine jewelry for 6 years and went to GIA), and had to ask him to rubber polish the inside. Lo and behold, that fixed it, and I had to ask him to do the same for my platinum wedding band.
I was worried about how my fiancée’s tungsten band would turn out, but it looked great!
I thought the cost for engraving was a little high, but whatever, at least it’s done.
Long story short, the rings got done, the dates are correct, everything was spelled correctly, the engraving looked nice, and Jack was nice enough. But he didn’t have the work done when promised, and I had to push for him to rubber polish the metal burs, which should have been done before he ever handed them to me.

I got the dates mixed up on a 30^th B-​Day dinner and realized I had 2 hours to get a gift personalized. Since I was Downtown working I couldn’t leave to drive to a «Things Remembered.» I looked for a local engraver and this place popped up and it was only a 2 block walk. I walked as fast as I could in my 4 inchers. Jack promptly took my order and told me to come back in 30 minutes. I came back in 20 and my bracelet was all polished and engraved on both sides for a mere $ 17 bucks. By the way Jack’s last name is «Family.» Very fitting.
