Einstein Bros Bagels

Slow service. I was disappointed. I just waited almost 20 mins and left. I was the only customer I the store

Sadly every time I go into this bagel shop (which has wonderful bagels and I really like the bagel with Nutella) there’s never enough people working there and the ones that are don’t seem concerned the customers are standing around 15 – 20 minutes before they even place their order and then another five or 10 waiting to get their orders. I don’t think this is an efficient place to go if you are trying to go to work, drive for Über or life in general.

I live near by this einstein bagels so it is convenient for me to stop in here and there, well after today I will no longer be stopping in at all. A majority of the time I’ve been in I always have issues! Today I went in and waited on my order for 30 min and when I got home my order was incorrect. So to lengthy wait times, wrong orders and rude service it is no longer worth my time!

This place is hard for me to review. Most of the staff members are perfectly fine, if not good! However, there is one female manager who is so incredibly unpleasant I cross my fingers every time I’m there hoping I won’t have to see her or deal with her. I feel bad for the employees who work under her.
The bagels are good — like all Einstein Bagels. So that at least remains consistent. I’ve only had my order incorrect once, and they readily and kindly made it up to me. (Thank God it wasn’t that terrible earlier mentioned manager — or I might have something else to say…)
Also: Parking is annoying. I get that they can’t really control that but its worth mentioning. It gets busy on the weekends and gets quite full. And now there are two Electric Car Spaces ONLY right in front that I believe are recent additions. Not exactly helping there…
All in all, the place is okay. It would have four stars from me but that manager alone made me knock off one star completely. And I believe I’ve heard her referenced in other peoples reviews…
And to her employees: HANG IN THERE.

i love the company Einstein Bros Bagels, but this is absolutely the worst location ever. :(
i live near by so my boyfriend and i love grabbing bagels and their blended caramel coffee drink. To start off every time we’ve came to this location we’ve had a horrible experience. MAJOR CUSTOMER SERVICE PROBLEM! and if you dont like you job that much to be rude to customers and spoil the name of the company you are representing then you should go elsewhere. not take it out on customers who are choosing to come spend their hard earned money at your place of work.
so the few bad experiences we’ve had (but here are the few main recent ones i remember)
1.) we came in around 10am on a weekend and it was busy like usual and get in line we already knew what we wanted get helped and then walk over to pay and wait for our order… and the bagel and cream cheese was correct, amount of cream cheese was good to but we ordered a caramel blended drink, and a short girl with pink and purple probably even blue hair hands us a iced drink. i politely said oh im sorry we ordered a blended drink. she rolls her eyes and walks over to the blender and throws the drink in the blender and tosses the cup in the sink, puts the now blended drink in a new cup? which couldve been in the same but whatever, puts a flat lid on? and i said oh can i have whipped cream too please, before she finished putting the lid on, throws the flat lid in the sink and open the small fridge does the whip cream and slams the fridge door and slides the drink at me and walks away. like okay? dont be polite and say have a good day, i said thank you but she didnt even turn around and acknowledge me. RUDE RUDE RUDE. just funny cause i think her manager was at the register hearing her slam stuff and not care. i’d tell her she needs to go take a break or go home with that attitude.
2.) my boyfriend tried going in before his work one morning around 5:30am and he said he walked in and the door was open but the woman just stared at him and didnt help him or take his order and when he asked if they were open yet she snapped and said no… so he walked out got in his truck and checked the time and it was 5:43am says they open everyday at 5:30am… obviously they should have been open and ready to go, or she couldve politely said not yet sir, please come back in a few minutes not ignore him and hope he leaves and snapp at him like hes dumb, your sign clearly says 5:30am
3.) was today, i arrived around 9am on a friday morning to get our usual… walk in wait where we normal order and the older African american woman says you can order down here, okay so i walk over and I ACCIDENTALLY ORDER THE WRONG BAGEL (my fault not theres, no big deal. got cinnamon sugar instead of the apple pie one) but as always i asked for one with plain, and one honey almond shmear, i order the blended coffee and at the register she tells me they are out on whipped cream i said thats fine (no big deal, things happen & glad she told me before hand) get the drink, and then the bagels and its to go. the tall skinny younger African american woman yells my name i walk closer to her she hands me the bag and walks away. and again rude, no bye have a great day, no nothing and again i said thank you and no acknowledgment in return. just plain rude, busy or not it takes a second to greet and thank your customers. so i get to my car and check my bagels and neither look like they have the almond spread, take a bite of each and both are plain.
i understand these are not big problems, but i just feel like its so rude and disappointing when everytime we come here somethings wrong with our order or rude service. like come on. i worked customer service at a food restaurant too… i worked at subway and i was never rude to customers or messed up peoples orders. and i didnt even want to ask for them to correct it since i knew they throw a fit cause no one there at this location is approachable with a friendly smile and good service. for now on i’ll gladly drive to the santee or del cero locations. and hope corporate pays them a visit. they need a big change here.

There isn’t a better place to have a good breakfast bagel. Ham and Eggs and ad some bacon.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely LOVE Einstein’s Bagels… except for this location! It been here three times now and all three have been bad experiences, but this most recent one was absolutely the worst! Every time the line has been long because the service is so slow. The girls working at the register are consistently rude as well.
Today, I ordered two tasty turkey sandwiches with jalapeño salsa shmesr in place of the onion spread it usually comes with. When the sandwiches came out, there was MAYBE a teaspoon of cream cheese on each. They skimped on the turkey and the tomatoes were mealy. When my fiancé went back inside to talk to them, they snapped at him that «we ALWAYS put the same amount of turkey on», which definitely isn’t true. and when he asked about the lack of cream cheese, the girl rolled her eyes, scooped out a little cup of extra cream cheese and practically threw it at him. Corporate Einstein, you may want to get this location in check as they are destroying your brand in this area!

I was amazed what I had witnessed when going here one morning. I love their bagels and would rate this place a four star for their food but the coffee is constantly burnt tasting or empty. Although I was disgusting with the management here, or lack of. An older woman came in and made a comment about the food and from how I interpreted it she made a little comment about the inconsistency of the food and how she probably did it on purpose. I’m not going to go into detail because I’m a regular here but the women working replied by yelling at her and walking away. I just stood there and the other two women working said nothing. I can tell the customer was speechless or maybe confused like I was. I work retail and you get used to customers being a little complicated but who cares? It makes you look worse for acting like a upset teenager.

The bagels are so good! Literally my cousins and I couldn’t stop eating the bagels we got from here. There so fresh and soft! I defiantly will be back here!

This is the worst Einstein’s location I’ve been to. Every single employee today was rude and seemed in a hurry. They didn’t get my order right so I was making sure with the girl at the register before we paid, she had to yell to all different people about it and how to fix it. I said never mind just change it if this is too difficult, the lady who seemed like the manager said patience is a virtue to me as she walked away and continued to talk to all the employees about me. I don’t know who they think they are but they are in the businesses of customer service and telling customers things like that is really rude. I’m paying you for my food. Great bagels but worst employees and customer service at this location.

Okay, I have returned and my concern about the cleanliness has been taken care of. Delicious bagels, sandwiches, drinks etc. The kids love it, I love it. A lot of options for drinks, lunch, snacks, deserts… and the workers are friendly.

This place is my saturday morning delight love it love the employees a little busy on saturdays but who cares well worth the wait!

I went into this location today to pick up a half dozen w/​a tub of shmear ($ 8.99). The remodel made the place look a lot cozier. The boy taking my order was friendly enough.
What really got me was when I came in contact with the Manager or asst. Manager (the woman with pink and brown hair.) She started by saying «what did you get?» After I told her she proceeded to look/​search my bag of bagels. When I payed her I tried making small conversation, which she ignored. I asked her for a freezer bag and without saying a word she rolled her eyes and reached under the counter and grabbed me one. Uhm really!!! Is it that hard to reach under the counter and grab me a bag. She handed me my receipt and waited for me to leave. I said thank you & still hadn’t heard this woman speak a word to me. No thank you, no have a good one, no enjoy, nothing.
I wanted my bagels sliced but left without because I was afraid if I asked she might loose it. I know she heard me. And it seemed like she didn’t have a problem talking since when I walked in she was gossiping to a staff member about another.
What a joke. The two stars are for the boy that helped me (I think his name was Joshua) & the yummy bagels.

Delicious bagels. My favorite is the chocolate chip. Hubby loves the poppy seed. Friendly people work here and the signs in the bathroom not to be missed.

Hurray, they reopened today after a fantastic remodel. The new look is great and seems so much bigger! Same employees, who are so friendly and helpful. Perfect place to read, study and relax.

This place was delicious! Had a cheesy jalapeño bagel with cream cheese & a blended white mocha. Not only is the food great but the customer service. Brandy was very nice to my boyfriend and I. She definitely knows how to make her customers happy. Love the vibe there! Most places I’ve been to lately have grumpy employees. It was nice to finally go somewhere with employees who seem happy with their job. I’m sure coming back to this location!

Definitely pricey for what you get. They are very stingy with cream cheese. The bagels are alright, but I’d try another one of the many bagel places in the area next time.

Einstein Bros.’ bagel bucket has always been a familiar sight at the office whenever a co-​worker has a birthday. This time I was the one who picked up a bucket, uninitiated to how the whole thing works. 13 bagels + 2 tubs of shmear = $ 14.65. You get to pick your choice of shmears (whipped cream cheese spread) from the open refrigerated case at the start of the line, and then proceed to choose your bagels.
So there’s a lot of different flavors and different kinds of bagels, including their mini challah bread. In quite an embarrassing turn, I forgot how to pronounce «challah» and had to ask the guy, «Oh…um…how do you say this?» fearing further embarrassment among the people around me if I went ahead and said «cha-​llah». So he said «Ha-​llah», and to my relief, replied, «there you go!»
I then picked up a couple of Asiago cheese bagels, saying «ah-​see-​ya-​go». Now I knew how to say that one, to which I was complimented by the man assisting me.
See, that’s what happens when you watch the Food Network. Or when you don’t.
Anyways, it’s nice to know that there’s a shop like this in my area. Cozy and friendly like a mom-​and-​pop shop, yet efficient like a national chain.
Parking can be a pain, especially during the morning rush. I had to park by Wendy’s cos the spaces in front of Einstein’s were all taken. I had to dodge one car rushing to get out, so just a word of caution — be careful ’round these parts. Especially in the morning.

I decided to give this place a shot this morning considering it’s super close to my work and I have been having super intense bagel cravings for, well, everyday of my life.
I was able to park right in front of the door which always wins me brownie points. I hate having to circle a parking lot for a hundred hours just to park. Ain’t nobody got time for that!
I walked in and didn’t have to wait even five minutes before being helped! The guy who helped me, I think his name was Adrian? Anyways he was very nice and energetic considering he had probably been working since they opened and it was early in la mañana! I can appreciate that because I get how hard it is to plaster on a giddy energetic happy to be awake at 5AM smile for the sake of customer service! He was quick with my order and pleasant to be around!
As far as my plain bagel and chive and onion shmear with a large fresh squeezed OJ. It speaks for itself. Delicious, hot, and fresh! Not much beats a fresh baked bagel and shmear while you drag your bum into work to start your day!
