The sandwiches are good but they struggle to handle the noon rush. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here but working nearby it’s worth throwing this place into the rotation.

Meh, it’s one of those places you grab food from when you forgot to bring food for lunch. That’s about it.

Normally I wouldn’t rate a place this horribly but the food is very mediocre and the owner is a jerk. Being located on the first floor of my building I tend to come here quite a bit. In fact looking at old credit card receipts I typically have spent around $ 30-$ 40 a week here for the last 3.5 years. This being said, the only reason I came here was due to convenience, as the prepared food is very mediocre and overpriced. In addition, the selection within the store is pretty much stuff pulled off the shelves from Costco and marked up, but I still went… until my last episode with the owner. So this place has one of those loyalty programs(think subway) by giving you a free sandwich/meal with every 8th purchase you make by using a stamped card system. As most people, I tend to forget it, since it really is not a big deal cause the cost savings are pretty insubstantial. But from time to time I grab one of the cards and ask them to sign them with a purchase; because of this I had 4⁄5 cards when it finally added up to the 8 I needed to get my mediocre sandwich. OK so I went and ordered their Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich and gave the person at the register my cards, only to have him give me the stink eye and tell me that«he can make an exception for me since he is the owner, but going forward they need to all be on one.» At that point I wasn’t sure if he was joking, or if there was an actual rule posted somewhere. I really don’t get it, but really your food is not really worth the hassle. So BTW, you just lost a loyal customer(with loyalty cards) and a couple thousand a year from this guy. Hope your savings in those cards are worth it! I would rather walk up a few blocks, get some exercise, and give my money to «Crossroad’s Deli» or «Specialty’s» than give another dime to a person like you.

Still good healthy food but the wait times have significantly increased, thus why I am knocking down one star. They just can’t deal with the noon volume, so, go either earlier or past 1pm. Aagain, the food is still good and still has many healthy options. Free Wifi and nice cafeteria ambiance.

Unfortunately for me I was stuck in the La Jolla valley area near the 805 for a day and this deli/café was the nearest thing to me that served food. Eddy M’s is your basic lunch crowd restaurant that only caters to office workers in the surrounding buildings. They serve breakfast and lunch during the week only. It belongs to a local chain here in San Diego where they have several locations throughout the county. Their menu is available online and it seemed like a lot of people found it convenient to order ahead as this place gets pretty busy around the lunch hours of the day. Their diverse menu goes from sandwiches, to wraps, bowls, soups, salad bar, chips, burgers and personal pizzas. They are even so helpful to list the calorie content of their food next to the items; however I really question their methods of figuring them out. I wasn’t too hungry for lunch time as I was more stressed about the job at hand for the day, so I got one of their rice bowls. Their dining area is quite nice with tables inside, outside and a TV for watching. The rice bowl I received was the chicken bowl with brown rice, veggies and teriyaki sauce( ). The bowl was rather gross tasting as the rice was overcooked, the chicken tasted old and reheated from the day before. They added veggies to it, but they were pretty cheap on them in my bowl. What really got me on this entrée was their over abundance of sauce they added, and the flavor was downright gross. They must have added a whole CUP of salt to it, because it was the saltiest thing I’ve ever tasted. My coworker had ordered a wrap for lunch and he commented how salty the food was. So what to take from this is, your best bet is to drive down the road closer to UTC for better lunch options, because this place must go through a pallet of salt every week.

Offering several healthy lunch options, Eddy M’s is a great lunch option for the employees of the surrounding office towers AND for people that work within walking distance(like myself). When you walk in the front door you are herded along the wall to the ordering area. The wall menu behind the cashier isn’t the easiest to read and there are likely impatient people in line behind you. Your best bet is to look at the menu online first and be ready to place your order. There’s probably a stack of to-go menus somewhere, but I missed it. I ordered a protein bowl with chicken and quinoa. Price was reasonable at 5.99(extra .75 for the quinoa). Order Pickup is somewhat Kludgy. They don’t give you a number or take your name. You and about 20 other hungry people are all milling around the front waiting for the orders to come up. TIP — After you order, take a good look at the people that are standing around you waiting for food. This will help you figure out when your order is coming out is next. It’s a very confusing process. With the Healthy Bowls being a very popular choice, some guy grabbed my bowl by accident. I wasn’t even sure that I got«my» bowl to be perfectly honest, but after 60 seconds of nobody claiming it, I gave new meaning to the phrase«grab and go». Mine now I guess! The bowl — Chicken with Quinoa Served w/Steamed Veggies with the side of teriyaki sauce. Light, fresh, tasty, perfect for a healthier lunch. There are plenty of places outside to relax and eat. The gripe is that they were cheap with the chicken on my bowl(compared to pics from other Unilocalers)

Grilled cheese but no tomato soup. Fish and chips daily special but no malt vinegar. My suggestion for them get malt vinegar for their fish and chips was declined: «We’ve been doing this for years and no one has ever said that.» But how? It’s a daily special, not even on the menu.

A solid 3. I couldn’t really trust other reviewers because when I see cafes located in an office building with not many reviews and having a 1 star or so, it’s hard to tell because you normally don’t review your work’s cafeteria. Sure, the place isn’t Donovan’s or anything. But it’s decent. A good alternative to the fatty unhealthy things at the mall. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl with quinoa. It’s healthier alternative that you can substitute rice for quinoa. The bowl cost around $ 7. Lots of chicken, veggies and quinoa. One thing though, the chicken was not hot… some of them were luke warm, like they didn’t heat up that chicken enough. I think it’s a better alternative to the nasty cafeteria they have at LPL. I would rather come here.

This place is terrible. This café sits on the first floor of my office building and serves what I believe to be the worst coffee on the planet. For one, they fill up those self-serve carafes of two types of coffee daily… and 9 times out of 10 they are empty and you need to ask for more. For two, they don’t have real cream for your coffee — only Coffeemate and little unrefrigerated mini-moos that can be stored in a cabinet for years — bluck! A café at the very least should have fresh dairy products available to its patrons. The sandwiches I’ve had are nothing amazing — the veggies didn’t seem very fresh and the bread wasn’t either. The meats and cheeses are good but that’s only one part of a sandwich. The business model is smart –so they earn one star for that. I mean, there is no other option nearby so you win over some customers simply by default and the fact they have no other choice. Oh, and the interior is clean and set-up nicely… but I have no idea why anyone would want to sit in there — you’ll end up smelling like the food they prepare in the back kitchen due to bad ventilation.

I made a second attempt to eat here. I got the angry lady to take my order. I ordered a side order of sweet potatoes Fry’s. So angry and bothered I ordered an extra item in addition to my sandwich? I won’t be coming back.

Their food handling is questionable. I bought one of their daily specials that came with a side salad and found a BIG moth in the lettuce. Their excuse«there must have been a hole in the box of lettuce.» So does that mean they dont wash their lettuce?(Pretty gross that they now have a salad bar.) After this incident, I made it a point to purchase only sealed items. I purchased a naked juice and after downing it, I saw the expiration date… it expired 11 days ago! RIDICULOUS! Never gonna eat from here again, even if it means I have to drive 10−15min to get some lunch.

Love their chicken artichoke panini! Usually text in my order and pick it up in 15 minutes which they are really good about.
