Dove Framing & Art Restoration

This is a long overdue review (sorry David). I can’t say enough great things about Dove framing. The owner, David was very patient and helpful with a recent project. We custom framed two very large mirrors and they were done perfectly! During the whole process David was honest and looked out for our benefit. After the framing they suggested JRI custom art handling and installation to hang the mirrors. John, the owner of JRI was great too. Highly recommend them!
We will definitely use Dove framing for all of our framing needs!

A condo that I rented had a very nice original painting hanging in the living room, but the painting did not have a frame and thus the edges were very worn down. Anything was better then no frames at all and I decided to bring the painting to Dove Framing. After speaking with David about needing something very basic to protect the edges, he quoted a price, had an idea of the frame color and seemed to know exactly what he had in mind that compliments the painting. The following day I arrived to pick up the painting and what I saw was a masterpiece! David went so far beyond what I had expected. The attention to detail is amazing. Looking out for the best interest for the customer is phenomenal. The frame was very classy, a gloss finish look, smooth all around, a perfect craftsmanship and style. The owner of the condo saw the painting with the frame and he was smiling ear to ear and could not believe the attention to detail of the custom frame. Thank you so much David for providing such expertise.

Some years back I inherited four pieces of my grandmother’s artwork that my mother found folded and forgotten underneath a bed. My grandmother did not save a lot of her work, so I knew I’d come into possession of something rare and priceless. They were all torn, creased, frail and generally in poor condition. Still, they mean more to me than I could ever articulate. I knew that having any work done to them would be a gamble; in the wrong person’s hands, they would be destroyed. I toiled for a long time over whether to entrust them to anyone for restoration.
After exhaustive research, I chose Dove Framing & Art Restoration for the process. After setting up an appointment with David of Dove Framing, he introduced me to Seyo of Heritage Art Restoration. From the outset of the restoration process, Seyo’s knowledge and expertise radiated. Not only did he describe what the restoration would entail, he also described measures he would take to ensure the safety of the pieces.
Both men worked with me on choosing the matting and frames for the four pieces. The final restored works are beyond description. I took three paintings and one charcoal drawing in, and all four pieces look absolutely incredible. Through the entire process, David was communicative and professional. He really instilled a sense of confidence in my decision to entrust him with pieces so valuable to me.
I am absolutely blown away with the restored and framed finished pieces. I now have them up in my home and I feel so grateful to have found and worked with both men. I unqualifiedly recommend the services of both Seyo and David to anyone who is looking to have restorative and/​or framing work done.

We had a piece of art that we purchased many years ago but never got around to framing. Part of the reason is that we could not envision the ‘right’ frame for it as it is a very whimsical piece and traditional frames seemed too ‘stuffy’ and ‘formal.’ We were introduced to David by a gallery owner and brought the canvas to him. Right off, David understood our challenge and our goals and made suggestions and provided his opinion when we asked for it but was not at all pushy. It ended up taking us three appointments pouring over his huge selection to find just the right frame, but David didn’t seem to mind at all. He was so patient with us, letting us take our time and he was not frustrated when we came back the next week and decided against both of the two options we were considering from the week before. It was clear that he truly just wanted us to be happy with the final piece. We made our selection on the third visit and left it in his capable hands. We picked up our finished piece yesterday and it looks great! The whole process and the great selection David has made us want to purchase more art. We will definitely be back to see him in the future!

I went to this framing shop based on my search on Unilocal.My hopes were exceeded.
There is a great selection of colors and styles, and David was very patient and seemed to enjoy looking at all the options for framing my oil painting. We finally selected a frame that turned out to be absolutely perfect — really enhances and brings out the painting in a style I was looking for. Then we chose a frame for a macro photo I’ve had for a while. Again the frame is perfect, better than I had expected.
In addition to being able to find the perfect frames for the pieces, the quality of framing was exceptional and at a very fair price. I will go here for all my future framing needs.

I’ve had two Dr. Seuss pieces framed at Dove Framing and they do an excellent job! They were originally recommended to me by the gallery in La Jolla where I bought one of the pieces. The selection is great, the prices are amazing, and they are fast in getting your art framed! I wouldn’t trust a Dr. Seuss to just anyone and have the utmost of confidence in Dove Framing. I found myself in need of some restoration work when I purchased a poster on eBay that arrived damaged. I really wanted to keep it so I found myself dialing Dove up in hopes they would be able to help me out.
The guy I spoke to on the phone was not only very friendly, but his information was thorough and helpful. I was asked to bring it in to see if there was possibility if could be salvaged via restoration. I took it in and I was really bummed to hear that the damage was not repairable but the way they went about it was really stand up and legit.
Not only were they honest with me but they recommended and gave me a better storage tube for my poster. They really seem to know how to treat your prints/​posters.
Since they were so honest with me in regards to my poster, I ended up not going with restoration cause it was pointless but after the service I got today I am very much going to keep them in mind when it comes time to custom frame. Their framing selection looks vast and they were thoroughly professional which was much appreciated.
