Friendly service. Donuts were fresh, even at 6:30 pm. My chocolate raised could have used a bit more chocolate, but the freshness of the bread made up for it.

tl;dr Doughnuts taste of old/stale oil Small doughnut place near Lucky Seafood in Mira Mesa. I went in on a Saturday around noon. It was not very busy but there were a few older gentlemen playing cards and drinking coffee. There was still a good selection of doughnuts left. I got a glazed for 65 cents the lady behind the counter was very nice and was quite patient when the man in front of me was trying to get six kids to order. The texture of the doughnut was nice and fluffy but it was really hard to ignore the flavor of burnt grease. I’m not sure if it was maybe a one off expirience but I probably won’t be coming back here

I arrived around 6pm on a Tuesday night. There wasn’t much of a selection. There were some glazed doughnuts and a few cake doughnuts. I’m not really a fan of cake doughnuts though. The guy behind the counter was very friendly. I decided to order a half dozen(because there weren’t enough for me to choose from). It’s $ 3.75 for a half dozen and $ 6.50 for a dozen. Very affordable! He even threw in a few doughnut balls. He piled them all in a bag for me and I left. The glazed twist was good. The blueberry cake doughnut was somewhat flavorful, but it was still pretty dry. The doughnut balls were only glazed on the tops, so they ended up tasting a bit bread-y. Overall, they were acceptable. I’m going to continue searching San Diego for better options though. –A review by a baker’s daughter San Diego doughnut review #1

I’m not even a donut fan but this place has me hooked. It’s in an older plaza and is a hidden gem that has local old men sitting inside chatting, drinking coffee and having their donuts. I got a variety of donuts and took them home for my kid and friends and decided to try their donut holes filled with cream and WOW I can’t even explain to you how good these are… also, their blueberry donut was to die for. If you like donuts or even if you don’t but like sweets I must say you will try these then crave them which is a BAD but good thing:) CASHONLY by the way…

My favorite place to get donuts and coffee, it’s been in Mira Mesa for a while. The donuts are great, they always have the ones I want! The regular glazed, chocolate ones and the blueberries donuts are amazing. Not to mention the prices are low :) I believe it’s the owner I’ve met several times and he has great customer service, another reason why I return to this place. I recommend this place to everyone, don’t forget it’s cash only!

Absolutely wonderful mom and pop donut shop in Mira Mesa. I no longer live in Mira Mesa, but my family still drops by and gets a dozen donuts from here pretty often. This family owned donut shop is welcoming, all the staff are very nice. I love their cream puffs, old fashioned, blueberry, and custard filled maple bar donuts! You can easily get a dozen donuts for only about $ 6 and pay a little tiny extra to get your donuts filled with custard! $ 6 for a dozen is very very affordable, but be sure to bring cash because that’s all they take! This mom and pop donut shop sells the regular traditional donuts, nothing specially decorated or stuffed like the ones you see in more higher end donut shops. The donuts here, I believe taste amazing! You’ll notice there are always the older regulars who sit and have coffee while chatting inside. This donut shop has been here forever, since I’ve remembered. Be sure if you decide to stop by to get in early or else they will run out of their more popular donuts.

DOUGHNUT even worry about the calories because all you’ll be thinking about are how tasty Donut Stop is. Donut Stop is by FAR my favorite doughnut place in San Diego. I’ve written some reviews for other shops in SD, but my opinion has changed ever since I found this place. The quality and freshness + service supersedes all other shops! I’ve never had a stale doughnut and they always have a wide variety stocked, no matter what time I go. The only bummer is that they aren’t open 24⁄7 and do close at 10p. Also, as with most doughnut places, it’s cash only $$! Their blueberry doughnuts are to die for. So fluffy and with a glaze that’s not too sweet. They have the fusion of the fluffiness of a muffin and the moistness of a doughnut that combines to make this unbelievable blueberry creation. I can’t find any other place with blueberry doughnuts and even though this place is 25 minutes away, it’s totally worth the drive. They also have cheap and tasty buttermilk doughnuts that are also one of my top choices. Donut Stop also has the best prices in town. It’s less than $ 8 for a mixed dozen and they always throw in an extra 1 or 2 doughnuts when you buy a dozen. The family that owns this shop is also really kind! If you go in often enough, they start recognizing you and know your order(although that might not be a good thing because my arteries are probably being clogged).

I was impressed by their full selection at 7pm on a Sunday night AND shockingly low prices($ 6.50/dozen, $ 8/dozen premium). We bought a dozen mixed, and the very nice girl working there added two more for free! The flavors of the donuts we tried so far(glazed old fashioned, regular glazed, cake crumb) are on par with other local favorite shops. Considering they are open and fully stocked late enough for my evening cravings and super affordable, I’ll definitely be coming back!

Blueberry donuts here are AMAZING! Every donut here is a good choice. The man who works here is very pushy with sales. After I told him that was all I wanted, after picking out 3 donuts to share with my husband, he kept asking, «OK what else?» And kept suggesting other items an additional 2 times after I kept telling him, «no, that’s all.» Him: points to croissant, «these are good too.» Husband turns to me: «want that?» Me: No(already visibly annoyed) Him: *laughs* OK she’s doesn’t want anything more Just stick to your guns when it comes to his sales pushes, he’s just trying to make that money! Don’t let it stop you from enjoying amazing, delicious and soft donuts, especially the blueberry donut! It tastes like a blueberry muffin but less dense and heavenly when it’s fresh! *BTW* Cash only!

I love this donut shop! They always have a great variety of fresh donuts and they’re cheap! My personal favorites are the maple bacon bar, blueberry cake donut, and the strawberry cream cheese croissant. I’d give 5 stars, but… 1. It’s cash only 2. You have to walk through the regulars who just hang out and stare you up and down when you walk in Great donuts! #sandiegofoodgirls

This place has became my FAVORITE donut shop in San Diego for several reasons. 1. Their donuts are ALL delicious(at least the several that I’ve tried). This place has my favorite buttermilk donuts hands down AND they have 5 different flavors: plain, glazed, maple glazed, chocolate glazed, and blueberry. They are ALL that good. They also have a blueberry donut which is on point and tastes like actually blueberries. Their apple fritter has real apples. And you just can’t go wrong with old-fashioned donuts. 2. The prices are super cheap! All donuts are under $ 1(I think the buttermilk bars are $ 0.85 and the others are all cheaper) when I know other places charge well over a dollar for their buttermilk bars. 3. This place is open late so I can get my donut fix whenever. Some people complain about the staleness. The donuts here actually keep well! I’m sure a few seconds in the microwave wouldn’t hurt if you want warm donuts but I still found my donuts to be good even the next day when I’ve discovered I’ve left them in my car overnight… 4. They actually HAVE donuts I want past noon! Unlike VGs who run out quickly and have no mind to actually make enough to last past 9am, this place has delicious donuts even past lunchtime. This place is a serious gem in an unassuming location. It’s not fancy nor does it have lines going out the door. But don’t underestimate this place. I can just see this place starting to get more popular after thrillist named it a top donut shop in SD…

I was searching for a donut shop for a corporate event and I almost ordered from Donut Touch until they told me that they wanted $ 12 per dozen!!! So, the search continued & I found Donut Stop, the owners are very nice & happy to work with, they have a very good selection and the price was amazing! I’m so happy that I found Donut Stop they are only 15 minutes from my office and have definitely won me over for all of my corporate needs!

After having dinner at a neighboring place I decided to check out the donuts. It’s really nice to find a donut place that’s open later than usual; blueberry, apple and a twisted glaze. Strength — Open late and affordable donuts. Weakness — Donuts might not be the freshest later in the day. Opportunities — Donuts for dinner! Maybe a schedule of when they do batches. Threats — Stale donuts later in the day. SWOT’d

I’ve been craving blueberry donuts since I’ve been vaping the flavor from Vape Kitchen. I did a quick search and thanks to the Unilocalers found this awesome donut shop. I mean $ 6.50 for a dozen donuts is madness and these aren’t meh, donuts. They are crispy, greasy, moist, MMMDONUTS! OMGYAYS.

Very friendly staff in this family owned donut shop. I always see them stocked and they are very helpful and and attentive as soon as you walk through the door. Really good hours for a small local shop. The mediocre rating is because I came in at 9:30PM and although I can understand why the quality may have been off because it was close to closing, I still think they should strive to put out a top notch brand at all hours during the day. I guess you should avoid the last hour or so.

CASHONLY! My friends and I were looking for donuts after our study session and came here to try their blue berry donuts. The owner was welcoming and wanted us to try out the donuts first BEFORE purchasing them. YAYYYY! 25+ donuts for under $ 15.

The gentleman here which is probably the owner is always so nice! I came into the shop a few times and he always throws in a few extra donuts in for free and his attitude is always happy! I love how they started serving blueberry donuts! Now I don’t have to drive all the way up to Anaheim to grab them at M&M’s Donut because they literally taste exactly the same!

Super cheap, Super delicious! Friendly staff! I had the blueberry donut, soooo good. Melt in your mouth good, good blueberry taste! The butter milk is also good! As is the one with the orange frosting on top that looks like melted cheese, moist, light and tasted just out of the frier! I’ll definitely be back!!!

Decided to check this place out for some infamous blueberry donuts. I’m a sucker for donuts by the way… Soon as I entered a sweet man greeted me at the door and took care of me as soon as I walked up to the front. It wasn’t busy at all and still the donuts were full house and had variety to choose from! I personally came for the blueberry donuts and it was delicious! The donut was moist and I’m sure they make fresh batches every morning. The hours are perfect especially if you want a quick run to grab some donuts as opposed to other trendy donut places that close by 2−3pm. Ha! I have yet to try the other donuts when I come back for round two!

I love DONUTSTOP. I love supporting small business. This is a Mom n Pop shop and I am loving it. The owner is super nice and their donuts are great. Blueberry and apple donuts are to die for. I love them and I am not a big donut fan at all. They also have croissant that I absolutely love. So, please go try this place :) You will not be disappointed.
