Discount Tire Store – San Diego, CA

Got here, they checked me in right on time (I had made an appointment online the night prior). Chris was very kind, super polite and professional. I came in because of a tire in my rear driver side tire that was causing a slow leak. Their store and phones seemed super busy but they never let that detract from their service to me. Thanks guys!

I took my car in yesterday to have the tires rotated and rebalanced because I noticed a vibration had started to occur at freeway speeds. I returned a couple of hours later and the car was ready for pick up. «What great service», I thought. There was no charge because I’d also bought the tires from Discount Tire. I drove the car home without incident (you can probably guess at this point that there *was* a subsequent incident). Later yesterday evening, however, while I was driving along El Cajon Blvd. one of the hubcaps flew off. «It took off like a frisbee», observed a very helpful gentleman who was waiting at a bus stop. He collected it out of the road for me so it wouldn’t get run over and crushed by a passing vehicle. I had to park and walk back across the I-​163 interchange to collect the hubcap. I checked the bolts holding the other three hubcaps in place. Two were loose and another one didn’t appear to have been screwed down either. Fortunately, I had the requisite socket in the trunk so I tightened the other three bolts and drove off with the errant hubcap in the trunk.
Okay, everyone makes mistakes, but this is the second time I almost lost a hubcap after have tires rotated at this particular Discount Tire. The previous time, a hubcap fell off while I was driving down a dirt road. Fortunately some friends were following me and they retrieved it for me. Otherwise I would never have known until I noticed it missing, much too late to find it. So it’s true; you do get what you pay for. Discount Tire is a good deal, but you have to check their work with a fine toothcomb. Consequently, now I have to check that all the wheel lug nuts are tight; I don’t want to have one of the wheels fall off.
I called this morning to complain. I spoke to Eric, who said, «No way», before hanging up on me. Such is their service.

When there is a fault done at this particular location on thier behalf they are not able to admit and apologize. Quick to shrug off and joke about the time consumed in a basic order. The excuse overload was given when I dropped my car off and it was «just getting pulled in» when I returned from an 45 min outting. A basic tire rotation with not many others in front of me It was demeaning to say the least that they couldn’t just say they were sorry for thier delay as I sat and watched them rush and do a 10 min job. I will choose any other site of discount tire. This particular one was not nearly as great as the others.

I LOVE this business! They are always so nice and they get the job done in a timely manner. I have gone to multiple discount tires, but on this particular visit, I had a flat tire. I didn’t have much money so my grandma gave me 2 used tires to take to them to see if they could use them. The tech told me they could use one of them, and quoted me $ 20 to put it on, balance and dispose of the other 2 tires. I only had to wait an hour and when everything was done they didn’t charge me anything! That was so nice of them! I will be buying four new tires from them shortly. This is the only place I will go for my tire needs from now on!

For a nail in my tire and they fixed it up for free. Also experienced great customer service which is always a plus.

Lets see– Had paid for new tires (nearly $ 1,000.00 worth) Great tires,
Problems is, I paid for new valve stems as well. Two were new and the other two still old ones?
Also– do you think just maybe they would actually put the valve stem caps back on such nice tires on a nice car? Nope– two of the old valve stems still on there– and no caps on any of them? Really? Also– Tires were given to me with still having the soap or whatever they use, coating all 4 tires? I had to go home and clean them up myself. They used to at least clean them up a little?
After about 18 years as a customer– I will not go back. Used to be professional, now obviously more of a get them in and out place.

The service here is amazing customer service is so friendly and everyone has so much Integrity this is my favorite Discount Tire hands down.

Super fast service, we were redirected here from the La Mesa location because they did not have the hanrook tires we wanted. this location got us in and our within 90 minutes so we just drove around. Thanks for saving a spot for us and making our driving experience better with new tires

Fast quick service. I booked an appointment online for 5:30pm but ended up getting there really early around 330pm. They were able to get my car in within an hour. JC was really nice and gave great service! He checked the tread of my current tires and told me what year it was (was a 2011) — didn’t know that.
Also I purchased some Barum tires and he also looked to see if there were better tires around the same price. Seemed professional and provided good customer service. Only thing missing is WIFI or positing the wifi password somewhere. Would be nice to work in the lobby while I waited.

I got a flat tire and came here early morning right when they’re opened, the workers Charlie and Francisco helped me right away, checked out my tire and let me know that it was still repairable, so I didn’t need to replace a new tire. Another great thing was they did it with no charge! I didn’t know they patch tires for free, so that was pretty cool! The overall service took about 30 mins or so. Overall, I had a great experience here and pretty satisfied with their customer service!

I purchases tires here in August or so and I must have forgot to leave a review. They include lifetime rotation and tire pressure checks! I stopped in today to get my rotation, I went to a different location than where I purchased the tires, so I was curious to see how service would be… JUST AS GREAT! These guys are so friendly and helpful, I waited maybe 20 – 30 minutes tops and my car was ready!

This place was awesome! They really took care of me.
I made the appt online by finding the tire I wanted. I was really hoping the Midway store had it since it’s closer to my house but Mission Gorge was the only one. I drove out and got there 10 minutes before my appt.
When I walked in, there was someone already waiting for me asking how to help. He checked me in and grabbed my keys. While I waited, I sat at the bar table they have setup looking into the shop. It was kind of nice watching them work on my truck.
In less than an hour they were done. The guy that helped me remembered who I was directly and got me checked out quickly. Best tire shop in town. After checking the tires, they look great and were done correctly. I will definitely be coming back to this store.

This is one of the few places I feel comfortable going to to get any work done on my car. Being a woman, I’m always worried about getting the runaround. This place never does this to me. Today I went in because I picked up a nail in my tire. This happens to me pretty frequently because of where I work. Earlier in the day, some guys at work helped me pull off my tire and put my donut on. I had also attempted to drop my bad tire off at another place. After an extensive wait, they told me it could not be patched. I asked them to pack it up and give it back to me. So now I’m here at discount tire. In a matter of minutes, I was helped and told they could patch it, put it back on and rotate my tires all for free. They are so helpful and super polite. Definitely recommend coming here for any tire work. In the past I have bought at least 6 tires from them, one which they replaced for free from another nail that could not be patched. Their tire prices have always been fair, always what I expect. They can be a bit busy on weekends, but they will still give the best service around. I totally recommend them to anyone.

EXCELLENT service! I went there to get new tires for my car. I knew I was getting four tires, and I had several questions about which tire would be best for my car. The service rep, John Toombs, was very friendly, patient, helpful, and thorough in answering my questions. While the service was being performed, I was called and informed that one of the wheel studs broke and would need to be replaced. John told me that they don’t repair that kind of damage but that he would call a colleague and ask how. He was able to fix the wheel stud and then discovered that the lug nuts were not fitting on properly. He called me and told me he was going to get new lug nuts and that I would definitely get my car before the day was done. John worked tirelessly to get my tires, and wheel, in new conditions. He went above and beyond. Thank you, John Toombs!

This location was packed, its hard to tell if it was because buisness is good or if its because parking there is horrible and there is only three garage bays. Guy will spiked hair at the front desk was awesome, great customer service. Purchased rims and had them put on my SUV, reservations were made the day before. I was told it would take an hour when i turned my keys over. Nothing ever takes an hour when it comes to working with cars (i though to myself). Two and a half hours later my car was ready. I watched the guys work, they worked hard and my rims looked great. Id most likely come back to this location if it wasnt busy, parking is TIGHT, that is if you can find a spot.

Good front desk service and good prices .but no WiFi. Crazy busy here (2 hour wait today on an unusually rainy San Diego day) which is a good sign but crazy that there is no WiFi.

I had a flat tire this morning. AAA changed the tire and I drove to Discount Tire with the donut spare tire. My vehicle is 2016 brand new, just purchased it on Friday and it only has approx 280 miles on it. Needless to say, I was really upset.
«JC» from Discount Tire offered to call the manufacturer (Michelin) to see if they would give me a discount since it’s a brand new vehicle. The manufacturer agreed to cover the cost of the tire ($ 180). I am so grateful that they are paying for it and I’m also very thankful that «JC» took the time to contact the manufacturer on my behalf.
They had to order the tire, which should arrive this afternoon. In the meantime, they put a full size loaner tire on so I could drive to work. That’s what I call exceptional customer service !!! I would definitely recommend Discount Tires.

Great service here. Came here around 430PM. Kind of busy but someone acknowledged me and said they’ll be with me in a minute. Most places don’t even say stuff like that anymore. But once I was helped, I got great customer service by them. The guy explained to me that I should buy a used tire for one tire that was flat on my car instead of buying a new one. No matter how I insisted I wanted a new one, he gave me great details on why I should get a used one and save money so I can just wait until all my other tires start to wear down together then I can buy a whole new set. Didn’t get pressured to spend more money and great service! Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate it.

The BEST place to get tires! Always available, friendly, helpful & reasonable prices! I get the warranty so today when I got a flat that destroyed my tire, I paid $ 15 for a brand new tire! Thank you Discount Tire for making me feel safe on the road!

No reason to go anywhere else. Great, friendly service. Free flat repair. Been going here for years and always a 5 star experience.

I have been using Discount Tire for a few years now for both of my vehicles (at a different location) and always had great service. However, this particular store really needs some work. I came in to get a tire checked for a possible nail and have been waiting for 40 minutes now with my vehicle still in the parking lot, and there are only 3 people waiting on vehicles. An older couple just complained about the long wait time and the person they talked to just mocked them after they left. I’m pretty shocked, I will definitely not be coming back to the Mission Gorge location. I never expected something like this from Discount Tire

Other businesses should take note of the customer service provided at this Discount Tire Center. I woke up to low pressure sensor light on. Took my vehicle to this location, and it was Veterans Day. I figured everyone and their brother would be there getting their tires changed and I was right. There were folks sitting outside in the grass, and the place was hopping. Within one minute someone greeted me, I was 3 down in the line. Another person asked what my reason was for being there, and I explained the low pressure sensor on. They followed me out to my car, tested all the tires, and stated they were fine. Filled them with air, and I was on my way. I have been to their location in Scottsdale before, and had a slow leak repaired due to a nail. The same stellar customer service, I was in/​out in 30 minutes. They have my business for life.

I know that the wait is long (hour and a half on a mid-​Wednesday afternoon), but they fixed two tires for free (and they did not put these tires on), so I won’t look a gift horse in the mouth (what does that mean anyway?). Too bad this is located in the only place where there is no Starbucks within walking distance… I rolled my new car through some accident glass (couldn’t be avoided), and two tires had a slow leak. They fixed them! For free!
Less one star because the bathroom is groddy. I know this is a car repair place with all boys but come on, if customers (i.e. females) are using the bathroom, it needs to be kind of clean.

AWESOME SERVICE!!! I was finished working at 5:30 and was 10 mins away from the shop. Knowing they close at 6, I called and Francisco answered and listened to my concern for my tires, and said not to worry and to come in. Making sure I knew where they were. As soon as I got in there Carl was great help in getting the right tires for my car at a great price! Definitely a great location! Thank you for getting my car done fast and you kept me laughing and entertained while I waited;) which is always a plus!

I can understand why this place gets such high Unilocal reviews! Had a nail in my 2015 Corvette runflat. Was afraid the expensive tire would have to be replaced.
Showed up at 1pm on a Thursday without an appointment. They took my car in right away, did an amazing job fixing the repair, and didn’t even charge me for it! In addition, they checked the air pressure for my other tires, and even put tire dressing on all 4 tires.
Extremely professional and courteous. Large waiting room with air-​conditioning, magazines, free coffee and bottles of water.
After this great experience, I will be giving them my business– especially after the disaster I had last time at TireDepot on Adams Avenue.

Excellent customer service each time I have been here.
It is expensive in general just because I needed four tires on a huge SUV.
Other than that, I was taken care of quickly and efficiently.

Got a flat, used a can of «Fix-​a-​flat» to get down to the shop. They looked it over and I left it for an hour. Got a call it was ready. Picked up the car. NO CHARGE! Yes, l a returning customer but these are not their tires and they know it. «Why no charge» I ask. We don’t charge our customers for flat repair. I love this store. Thanks Discount tire!!!

Hard-​working crew but scheduling is horrible! Had appointment but that didn’t mean a thing. 45 minutes before they even brought car in.
Unfriendly reception guy Carl Porter reluctantly agreed to do rotation/​balance at 4000 miles instead of the «usual 5k». Even though I had paid $ 64 for lifetime balancing.
I’m going elsewhere next time I need tires, even though I’ve been 30-​year customer of Discount Tire … having bought at least a dozen sets of tires at D. T.
Seriously … they’ve really gone downhill.

I usually stay away from large corporations when I can avoid it. I’d rather support the small mom and pop type businesses. Discount tire on mission gorge is one of the few exceptions.
John Toombs (manager) and his crew are always friendly and looking to get you some new shoes for your ride while taking care of your pocket. No need to shop around they will work to get you the best price. I’ve purchased tires from them for almost 10 years now on all 3 of my cars. I know what I’m talking about.
The place can be busy and crowded at times. But all that means is that they are good. So just find a parking spot and head to the office. They will take care of you. Just look at the Evans tires store next to them… not even half as busy. That is because Discount is better.
If you’re like me and look forward to putting new rubber on your ride this is the place to go.

Just got my rear tire replaced because apparently it had a bulge in it and was ready to pop. I went to the front desk in the man asked which tire I wanted. He helped me go over some options and even matched the tire to the other one that was already on the other side. Not only did he find the right tire he also gave me a credit for my old one which helped sends these tires were very expensive. I stop by discount tire on mission gorge whenever I feel like my air pressure needs to be checked and they gladly check it and fill up the tires with air for me at no charge. Whenever I get something done here they are knowledgeable and friendly and they do the job pretty quick. They will always try to sell you an extended warranty and the only time that I didn’t buy it I ended up having a small incident which I wish I would’ve gotten the coverage. Keep up the good work guys
