Discount Tire Store – San Diego, CA

The manager, Don, was super-​helpful. Prices were reasonable, service was fast, waiting room more than adequate. A well-​run business, in my opinion.

I’ve been here many times over the years to get my tires changed. The service is great here! If they’re not busy, they’ll come out to the parking lot as soon as you’re parked and get things started pretty quick. Talk about VIP service! They’re pretty quick with the tire change, rotation, balance, or a quick air fill. I usually call in to make an appointment, then head to the gym while they work on my car. It’s always done within the hour. There’s also water and coffee if you decide to wait in the lounge area.
The prices are very comparable to Costco and they’ll usually beat Costco’s price if they have the same tires.
On my last tire purchase here, my tires barely made it past half the warranty. They wouldn’t give me the quoted tire price + the difference in the warranty for the tires. I had no choice but to buy the tires. I did their online feedback (a nasty one) and within 10 minutes, the manager, Don, calls me. He made things right and gave me the discount + warranty. Service like that definitely makes me want to come back and keep getting my tires here.
I usually the purchase the side wall warranty and although you may never use it, I did have to use it the other day because one of my tires had a bubble on it. It was probably from one of SD’s nasty pot holes. The tire was replaced and I just had to pay $ 20 for the same warranty on the new tire. Not too shaby!

The employees here are friendly and honest. They didn’t sell the expensive tires to make commission, instead they made recommendations that are comparable based on quality, driving needs, and conditions. If they didn’t have the tires in stock, they’d make other recommendations & are open to negotiations and price match! Thanks, Bobby and Eduardo! You and the crew uphold the company’s integrity.

These guys are awesome. Blake especially has been awesome every time I’ve been here.
While they were in the process of closing, I rolled up with a tire that had a slow leak. Instead of turning me away, they filled the tire and asked me to come back in the morning.
The next morning they inspected the tire. They didn’t find a leak or anything outside the tire that would indicate a problem. Despite that, they took my word that the tire had previously been a pancake. They broke down the tire and found a nail inside.
All this was done WITHOUT me needing to prod them to do the right thing.
The way these guys conduct themselves demonstrates very clearly that they actually care about the people they serve. Actually respecting the observations of a customer — Remarkable!
If every service vendor was like this the world would be a better place.

WOW! All I can say is I’m never disappointed with Discount Tire. Don, the manager was very helpful, generous and understanding when it came to getting me all set up. I bought some wheels & tires from them. I couldn’t be happier when I picked up my truck. Thank you guys for the great service & competitive pricing. You guys ROCK!!!

Another pleasant experience with Discount Tire. My tire blew out last night around 5:50 PM .and I’m irresponsible and I didn’t have a spare. There were a few tire places that would be still open to get my car towed to and have it fixed the same night, couldn’t go to Discount Tire because they closed at 6, and I decided to have it towed to Discount Tire and just get it taken care of in the morning when they re-​opened because they took such good care of me last time I needed tires. They have a service online that let’s you make an appointment, so I made an appointment for the next day and left my car in front of the shop
I made a good decision. Came in this morning and I think his name was Blake? This guy gave me a few options and when I told him my budget he did not try to upsale me in anyway. I like them because I know nothing about cars, and it must be obvious but they never take advantage. Was done in about 40 minutes and I was all set.

Shitty attitude from Mike the manager. I came in simply to ask for a estimate of 4 new tires for my vehicle and he acted like I was asking for the deed to the world. He seemed bothered and like it was a burden for me to be in their store.
Excuse me, I’ve purchased a total of 12 brand new tires from Discount Tire in the past at their Poway location and only came into the Carmel mountain store because they were 10 minutes away from closing and I really wanted to find out what they could do for me.
I will give the Poway branch a chance to do right by Discount Tire. But maybe this manager should either get a raise or a vacation, his attitude is unnecessary.

Wow, this place saved me. I’m between jobs, low on cash, and THEN I get a flat tire on the way to an interview??? Great. BUT I go to this place, Discount Tire Store, randomly, and they FIXED MY FLAT FOR FREE. I repeat. They are so serious about their customer service, and their referrals, that they fixed me up FOR FREE.
So, here is the referral. Send all your tire business here. I know I am. End of story.

Price matched a different tire place and had exceptional customer service. Felt comfortable leaving my vehicle in their hands. Will return for the next set of tires.

Made a day-​of appointment online for a flat tire repair. When I had come back after 45 minutes (the length of time they estimated), an employee informed me that they fixed and rebalanced my flat tire + adjusted the tire pressure of my other 3 very under-​inflated tires. He recommended that I check my tire pressure at least once a month (low tire pressure can rob your gas mileage). As he handed me back my keys, I was taking out my card out to pay, but was pleasantly surprised to find out that they offer this service FREE OF CHARGE!!! Great service and friendly & helpful staff. Would highly recommend.

Myself and my girlfriend have bought tires from this location and we’ve always been pleased with the customer service and lack of hard sell. Each time the guys behind the desk listened to what we said we needed, asked a few questions, and pulled up the tires that met our specifications. No asking if we wanted to upgrade to more expensive tires, no pushing warranties, etc. They’ve also mounted tires I’ve brought in no questions asked and fixed a few flats for me.
A+ work to everyone at this location, keep it up please!

Amazing customer service! My tire blew out down the street at 5:45pm. I called this shop and I couldn’t find my spare, so Ivan drove to me and put on my spare so I could get home. He also took my flat tire to the shop for me. I’m coming back tomorrow when they open for hopefully my fixed tire or worst case, a new tire. Either way I’m very thankful for their help!

These guys were great I was on a time crunch and they got my car done in the time frame I needed so I could get back to work on time!

In my life I’ve purchased many warranties from different stores and companies, but the only one that really works is the one that offered by Discount Tire. Everyone should know, that this is a real deal.
I’ve been buying tires at D.T.for years, because they always beat competition prices, and because they honest and hardworking people.

Recently had some new Michelin Pilot Super Sports put onto my M3. Don quoted me a very fair price which was competitive to other quotes I got. The service was fast and they did an excellent job with the install. Even got the proper torque values for the lug nuts. Very satisfied with the service and I highly recommend this shop as they will take care of you.

I wanted to replace my Range Rover’s tires with the identical Michelin Lattitude Tour HP tires so I called their store. Mike agreed that these are excellent tires and he had to order them. Their price was lower than Costco’s discounted price! Two days later they were delivered to the store, and Mike called me to let me know. I wanted an appointment for the next morning but he said that, while they were booked, to arrive at 8:00 AM and he would fit me in. I was at the store at 8:00 AM and they were slammed with customers; some with appointments, others just shopping for tires. Mike gave some information to one shopper and asked if I was the guy with the Range Rover. When I said yes, he immediately printed the work order/​receipt, took my keys and said it would be about an hour. I went across the street for breakfast, and returned 50 minutes later. A few minutes after my return, a mechanic drove my car to the fro t door, handed me the receipt, and thanked me for the business. Overall the process was professional, friendly and coordinated. Thanks goes to Mike and his tire crew!

Something decided to go under my car exposing the wire in the back left tire and just destroying my tire. I honestly did not have the funds to replace it in this current moment, nicholas lent me a installation tire and sent me on my way. Apparently my spare was 10 years and and just as risky as driving on the spare. I appreciate the hell out of kind people and this was just amazing customer service. I will be back for every tire need you have my word.

they do free tire checks and when i thought i had sidewall damage to my tire and needed a replacement, one of the guys that helped me out said there was nothing to worry about and my tire was fine and didnt need to be replaced. they could have easily just said «okay, new tire coming right up» and taken my money but told me i was good to go without purchasing anything. glad they’ve come to PQ!

After their help with my sisters flat, and my own tire rotation needs, I always said I would buy new tires at this store. This week my steering wheel started wobbling and having like crazy. I read that it might be an issue with the tires, so I stopped by on my way home work. After explaining the wobbling to an employee, he immediately handed me a coupon for a near-​by mechanic and said he would «look anyways» but it wasn’t a tire issue. He followed me outside and glanced at two of the tires, but just kept telling me it was something involved with the boots and not a tire issue. Two days later, I take my car to A competitor who offered to check it out, puts it on the lift, and immediately finds a FOOT LONG gash in the front left tire. Thank god I didn’t have a blow out on the freeway. Two new tires and the wobble is gone (and I’m still alive).
I’ll be the first to admit that the tear may have happened in the 36 hours after I left Discount, but I’m also certain they could have found the problem if the guy had taken my complaint more seriously and done a closer inspection. I even would have made an appointment and came back if they were too busy when I stopped in. I’m just bummed I couldn’t make good on my promise to buy tires at Discount and a little scared that things could have been way worse!

Took my car in today because my «Check Tire» light came on. They checked it within about 5 minutes, then called me over so that I can see the nail that was in my tire. They said they could patch it up at no cost if I had an hour. Went to the 24hour fitness, came back, my car was good to go and the sensor light was off!
Everyone I came into contact with was extremely helpful and nice!
I purchased all four tires for my old car here last year, and will definitely be coming back when it’s time to change the tires in my new car:)

Honestly, I’ve never been more impressed with a car shop! Not only did Discount Tire NOT try to upsell me unneeded services, like is often the case at car repair shops, but they also got new tires on my car in less than 30 minutes without an appointment.
I’ve known for a few months that my front tires were reaching the end of their lifespans but I kept postponing getting new tires. Finally, I decided to just bite the bullet and get it done. After finding out that Costco didn’t carry the right tires for my car, I randomly ended up at Discount Tire after spotting it across the parking lot from where I was eating lunch.
We stopped in about 45 minutes before closing on a Saturday and the salesperson happily greeted us and explained the options. There were about five different tire options for my car with varying levels of mileage. Instead of trying to sell us on the more expensive tires, he honestly said that given my driving habits, that it wouldn’t make sense for me to get the highest price tires. Instead, we went for a mid-​level price of $ 62 for 50,000 mile tires. They also offered to trade-​in my lesser worn back tires for a $ 35 credit each so I got those two tires for only $ 27 apiece.
Since Discount Tire offers free lifetime rotation and repairs, I’ll be set with tires for quite a few years!
I’ll definitely recommend Discount Tires to anyone who needs new tires or tire repair!
