Great Little Office, Fantastic Team!
My insurance provider listed this place as «in network» and after reading hundreds of reviews from locations all over mission valley, I decided to call for a cleaning. What a relief! The entire team lives up to all their great reviews. It was easy to schedule an appointment, everyone is very friendly, professional and knowledgable. The office manager took the time to see what my insurance covered so I could make informed decisions. My cleaning was informative, quick and thorough. I was able to watch a movie, so it was over before I knew it. The late office hours are a much appreciated bonus!

I decided to see Dr. Bustamante based on a referral from a neighbor. I am fairly new to San Diego and needed some dental work. I immediately felt at ease walking into Dr. Bustamante’s practice. She has been a dentist for over 30 years, has seen it all and I knew the best path to take to address my dental needs. Her staff is amazing, they all work together like a well oiled machine. I recommend Dentistry at the Promenade highly for any level of «work» you need done. Look no further!

I live in the Promenade Apartment building so when looking for a dentist, I didn’t have to go very far. I called as a new patient to set up an appointment for an exam and cleaning. I was expecting to hear I couldn’t be seen until a few days later but I lucked out because someone else had cancelled. The office was very quiet and cozy and the front desk staff was super friendly. Yonnie (sp?), the dental assistant and Dr. Bustamante were also very friendly and very gentle. And the icing on the cake was the tv on the ceiling :)
I would highly recommend this office for new patients looking for quality dental work!

They have the best staff here. Their staffs are super friendly, knowledgable and GENTLE. I love their hygienist Anh. I have been their client for a little over a year now. Have had at least 2 cleanings now. My old dentist was also located in mission valley, however I switched over to Promenade after having my teeth cleaned by their hygienist. She was super thorough but extremely gentle. I almost fell asleep during the cleaning because the hygienist was so gentle and patient with the care and attention that she delivered. Their staffs are not pushy. They don’t try to sell you product. If they recommend a particular procedure upon examination they always offer to contact your insurance for you to see if it is cover and how much. Dr. Bustamente and Anh really are the best, they pay close attention to your reactions to make sure that you are comfortable and they explain what they are doing to keep you informed and relaxed. I am still not excited to visit the dentist (just like an still not excited to see my doctor or accountant ever), but I am for sure less reluctant to see my dentist now and I am definitely more comfortable, confident, and at ease now that I have the staffs here looking after my dental hygiene.

I have been a patient of Dr. Bustamante for 5 yrs. She is very gentle, and her staff is very friendly. I have not had any problems, and have been very pleased with my teeth. They are definitely healthier than when I started coming. Antionette in reception is very helpful, and Yonnie (sp ?) is a very good dental assistant. Love the television on the ceiling!

Great team and great service. I’ve been a client for roughly 2 almost 3 years. I feel very comfortable, the pricing is fair but my favorite is by far the service. The team is always happy and welcoming with a smile.

Extremely friendly and professional. Each member of Dr. Bustamante’s staff goes to great lengths to provide second-​to-​none dental care. From scheduling your appointment, to greeting you at the door, to filing your insurance claims, they are super efficient! Once in the chair, they use the latest technology to find problems early. Dr. Bustamante and her staff do an extraordinary job working with you on treatment and follow-​up. My wife and I are both patients and we highly recommend Dentistry at the Promenade!

I have been going to Dr. Bustamente for 4 years now, even after we moved out of Mission Valley. I have always found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I have never had to wait more than 15 – 20 minutes to be seen and if they are running late, they start a movie for you. There are TVs in the ceiling above the chairs, which makes the time spent in the chair go by quickly. After reading some of the other reviews, I would like to mention that Invisalign was recommended to me on my first visit but I said No and it has not been brought up again. I do buy the Gum Tonic they recommend but that is it. I have not found them pushy. My only complaint, which is minor, is that you have to park and then go in and get a parking tag to put in your car to prevent towing. There is always parking very close, so it isn’t that big a deal, but wanted to mention it.

Dr. Bustamante has been taking care of my and my family’s dental needs since 1990 and we’ve always had excellent experiences with her and her office staff. We’re very pleased with her services and I highly recommend her.

I went to this dentist for around 3 years and was pleased with the attitude of the people working here and the televisions in the ceiling are a nice touch, however that is it. I constantly felt like they were trying to sell me on products I don’t need like Invisalign and they don’t take no for an answer. In fact, they go so far as to submit your information to a healthcare credit line in case money is the issue. I ultimately stopped going here because of this. Their persistence made me incredible uncomfortable, despite my repeated attempts at telling them I simply wasn’t interested in what they were trying to sell me. I even tried showing a tiny amount of interest in what they were selling me in the hopes that that would deter them, but nope, that only fueled the fire and gave them the window of opportunity they were looking for to harass me through repeated phone calls. My guess is they have an agreement of some kind set up with Invisalign where they get a commission for selling he product. As for the services, the last time I went and what ultimately sealed the deal for me, was I left with dirty teeth. I went in for a basic 6 month teeth cleaning and left with visible plaque still on my teeth. I started going to Rio Vista Family Dentistry, which is across the street, and upon seeing them six months after my last teeth cleaning at Dentistry at the Promenade, I had SIX cavities. They asked me when I had last had my teeth cleaned and when I told them six months prior, they were in shock. What I should also point out is that I am 27 and have never had a cavity in my adult life. Suddenly having six was a travesty for me, not to mention it left me $ 400 poorer. Also, I have been going to Rio Vista Family Dentistry for a year now and not once have they tried to sell me Invisalign. In fact, they have even asked me if I have had braces in the past because my teeth are so straight.
If you are looking for a great dentist, don’t waste your time here and instead just go across the street to Rio Vista Family Dentistry. They are cheaper and have a much fuller staff to see you in a timely fashion. They have televisions in the ceiling and won’t try to sell you any products that you don’t need!

I .have gone this dentist about 5 years. I cannot believe how rude the receptionist is and once i read the comments, i knew i was not alone. The office seems to over charge, so i am always having to review my insurance statements and cost comparisons. One time, I had asked for an estimate using my insurance costs and the receptionist rolled her eyes right in front of me. The dentist needs to be informed that people will go elsewhere when you lack customer service. The assistant who works with the dentist is super nice though. About the dentist, she is rough and at times not very friendly either, the last time i was there, the dentist was almost argumentative, and just got up and walked away without suggesting any follow up, i have waited four months for them to call me for dental work i need. I think they are more interested in the dollar and not always abide by insurance policies. If you go there, don’t be bullied.

NOTE: I did not actually go here for dentistry work. But I had such a negative experience with the receptionist over the phone I thought I’d share.
I called to make an appointment and the receptionist was straight up dyslexic. While this is a problem that deserves sympathy, I didn’t appreciate having to repeat the spelling of my name and phone number half a dozen times. I’m still not sure she got it right in the end.
I ended up having to cancel my appointment due to work and only then was I informed of the $ 100 short-​notice cancellation policy. If I would have known that beforehand I wouldn’t have made the appointment. I understand the reason for a short-​notice cancellation policy but $ 100 seems a bit steep.
Suffice to say, I was so turned off by the whole experience I never ended up getting my dental work done there.

I started going to Dr. Bustamante eariler this year for my cleanings and invisalign. She is one of the most gentle dentists I have ever had. Most dentists sit there and scrape and scrape forever on your teeth, but Dr. Bustamante uses other tools that remove plaque withouth the continual scraping. My invisalign treatment is going very well and her prices are very competitive. The staff is very nice and friendly. Yani, her assistant, gets me in and out quick for each invisalign appointment and is fun to chat with. Antoinette is great too– she has helped me contact my insurance company whenever I have had a question and is really on top of it. Their office is modern and they always have movies for you to watch in the ceiling which makes your cleanings seem to go by even faster. She runs specials from time to time so you can check in to see what the current promotion is. Great dentist in Mission Valley.

I went to the Chiropractor next door to this dentist office and swung by and made an appointment for an exam and teeth cleaning since I needed a new dentist. When I went in the receptionist, Antoinette, was very friendly and helpful and helped me schedule an appointment for today. When I went in for my appointment the friendly staff greeting and was ready for me. After only seeing her once, she said «Hey Lars!» right as I arrived. The Dental Hygienist who assisted with my x-​rays was also very friendly and warm! She set me up with a movie on the monitor in front of me as well as the monitor on the ceiling. I then met Dr Bustamante and she too was very friendly and explained everything. As we looked at the pictures of my teeth on the monitor she was able to point to any tartar build-​up or issues so I could see what she was talking about and knew I was being taken for a ride. I continued to watch «The Long Yard» on DVD as she cleaned my teeth and at the end she explained her suggestions in order of importance and let me know what my options were. In no way did I feel like she was trying to simply sign me up for unnecessary work. I appreciated her showing me everything on the monitor and answering my questions. I scheduled my next appointment and left very happy! Everyone in the office said bye! I have to admit I almost cancelled this appointment after I looked up reviews… but I am really glad I didn’t Dr Bustamante on her staff very very friendly and knowledgeable and I look forward to going back! I like to think it is hard to impress me if you are a dentist because I grew up with the bet Family dentist in my opinion! Everyone after him was just okay to awful. Dr Bustamante is great!

This dentist needs more experience in the industry as her work holds no integrity and her staff turn over at the front desk happens too frequently. A few months ago I had the most negative experience anyone could ever have with the elder lady/receptionist…I chose not to partake in an arguement regarding my appointment so I got in my car and left without completing my dental work. Since then I have found an amazing dentist whose work ethic matches my standards and is very accommodating. I highly recommend finding a better dentist. Trust me there are great ones in our community!

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Bustamante for more than 15 years. She and her staff are amazing! My family members receive their care from her and I have referred many of my coworkers to her also. She provides state-​of-​the-​art care in a warm, friendy and highly competent environment. I actually look forward to going to the dentist!!!

The staff members are amazing, friendly atmosphere and a personal feel. Dr. Bustamonte takes care of her patients without making you feel like just another customer. I attempted to relocate to another dentist closer to my home but was unable to find the same experience. I returned back to Dr. Bustamonte and felt right at home. After a year, everyone still remembered my name and they were all happy to have me back! If you’re looking for a dentist you can trust to do a good job and provide you with the best care, I suggest you visit Dr. Bustamonte and her wonderful staff at Dentistry at the Promenade!
