A San Diego native, David «Tyrone» Villa’s journey as an artist started at the age of 18. He gravitated toward oil painting as a way to express himself with an intensity felt through color and line. His latest work is a reflection of his environment, in which reality blurs into memory. The collaboration of the imagination and memory is what makes Tyrone’s style unique. In memory things are larger than life. The brilliant colors of a beautiful sunset, a favorite surf scene, or a city sky line are stained in Tyrone’s imagination. It is Tyrone’s quest to transfer that memory in its entirety onto canvas.
