David Hiller, MD

In 2001 I fractured my L5 vertebrae. I ended up needing to have a spinal fusion. Before it healed someone jumped on my back and my fusion came apart. The pain was agonizing. Although my doctor threw pain medicine at me, he also accused me of drug seeking behavior and told my parents (I was a minor at the time) that I was imagining my pain. Dr. Hiller is the antithesis to that doctor. Dr. Hiller is the first doctor EVER who I actually look forward to seeing. He is kind, patient, knowledgeable, honorable, and best of all, honest. He has a way of being frank without sounding presumptuous, and every piece of advice he has offered me has been sound. Before I met Dr. Hiller I had been treated by a previous pain management specialist who had no interest in really treating me. Every time I complained about my pain she threw more and more pain medication my way. So when Dr. Hiller started treating me, he and I both had an uphill battle ahead of us. The pain medication I was taking was mostly working against me, and I was on MASSIVE doses of pain medications. Unfortunately I was also chemically addicted and depressed to boot. I had no quality of life and two children to care for. The pain was so intense I couldn’t do anything but lay on the couch day after day, watching TV and trying to ignore the pain as best as I could. Dr. Hiller walked me through getting insurance to approve a stay in a detox facility where I was able to safely detox and then switch to a new medication which has greatly helped with my pain management. Dr. Hiller has also been the ONLY doctor to successfully perform an SI joint injection on my mangled back although several other very accomplished doctors have tried! With a combination of the new medication and the fantastic job he has been doing on my SI joint injections, I have my life back! I am so grateful to Dr. Hiller and his incredible team… My life was drastically changed for the better the day he became my doctor. If you have pain, I highly recommend seeing Dr.Hiller. He is the sort of doctor who takes your care into his very capable hands and will do everything in his power to ease your pain and make life more bearable. I can tell every time I see him how happy he is for me that I’m doing well and living life to the fullest now. How many doctors do YOU know like that?!

I used to see a different doctor who would pass me around then I got Dr. Hiller he has been right on top of my care. It has been a big difference having him as my doctor
