Just left this place. Showroom people are nice, but the sales people are horrible. I am 7 months pregnant, and had my 1 year old daughter with me. I wanted to place a quick order, so that I could get out of there. I had done a lot of the leg work prior, and not once did anyone mention that they couldn’t give me the same price that the Daltile in El Cajon would offer. They quoted me double the price that I got from El Cajon. I wasted time speaking to 3 different men, and no one seemed like they wanted to help.
If they would have just explained this to me from the beginning, I would have never stepped foot in this location. I left there feeling so stupid, unwanted and angry. I would never deal with this location again. Call the Daltile in El Cajon… they are much nicer.

We are currently remodeling. Have visited few tile shops/​show rooms. In a place like this, we expect immediate welcome, people with a good sense to understand what we want to explore, deep knowledge of technical specs and customer feedback re tile types, ability to combine good listening skills and advise giving, un-​cluttered display, good administrative and follow up skills, and good treatment as a customer. Of course we made an appointment to see one of their few design specialists, Kelsy. She was all that above. We also made a follow up visit and ended up dealing with her colleague who was just as capable and helpful. This place really puts some of the other tile shops we visited to shame. Bottom line — we had a great experience, but to get the most out of your visit, you need to be prepared. We were, and it worked out really well. I’ll rate it ⁴⁄₅ for now, for we have not finalized our order and experienced delivery. I hope this part of the business is as good as the experiences to date.

Meticulous showroom and knowledgeable staff. It was a bit busy in the showroom but after taking a long look around… we found what we needed and received all the help we asked for… class a establishment.

I have never had to work so hard to spend my money. The showroom people were fine. The service people are not. Twice the person I spoke to told me he would call me back; twice he did not. Friday I called, he was busy, some woman assured me the tile was in. Thank goodness I didn’t go to get it this morning. It’s not in. I am now so frustrated if I hadn’t worked so hard I would walk away. If you are an individual, do NOT shop here. They are much more interested in dealing with businesses.

If i could give zero stars i would. Dal tile (clairemont mesa) stone order desk SUCKS! Every person that works there (Vanessa and Greg) are ALWAYS RUDE and very unhelpful. I just bought thousands of dollars in stone from them and had some extra chair rails (very expensive) and they REFUSED to return them even though they advertise they return with a 20% restocking fee! I also ordered hundreds of dollars of stone from Arizona Tile on miramar rd and when i called them about returning some extra stone they responded «SURE NO PROBLEM, bring it back and we will refund your money. We will even help you carry it inside.» Now keep in mind they also charge a restocking fee which i was happy to pay. I will NEVER EVER buy any materials from Dal Tile again! I recommend using the friendly Arizona tile. Save yourself the frustration and rudeness you receive from Dal Tile

Daltile might have great selections and great products but their customer service is horrible. My wife and I went in yesterday to pick out tile for a project and were ignored for 30 minutes. We will never give them our business.

They sell some beautiful tile, and the salespeople are nice, but that’s as far as it goes! The tile is overpriced, but I thought, no problem… If I have unused tile in a complete box, unopened, and with a sales receipt, I can return it… anyway that’s what the fine print said on the paperwork I signed when I paid for it with my own personal credit card, but guess what… they won’t take it back because it came from L.A., yet it is a sample in THEIR showroom and I nor my contractor were ever told that «special orders» cannot be returned. They wouldn’t let me speak with a manager… not there, but would call me back within a half hour… that didn’t happen either! The people in the service dept were not very nice the first time I was in there, but everyone can have a bad day… I don’t think they like their jobs very much, their customer service is not very good… The manager did finally call back after hours and told me I could return the tile for a 25% restocking fee, but I don’t understand why that couldn’t have been settled when I was right there in the store??? Now I have to take time and gas, drive back there again to return it… my time is valuable too… wouldn’t it be nice if we could all be nicer to one another and respect one another? If their business is suffering, they could improve it with better customer service… even if your prices are higher, quality products and good customer service go all way… only my opinion of course… Jana

Well thanx for someones review I stumbled across looking at theirs — cause Daltile moved on me and couldn’t locate a new address up there (only EC & Vista) … am I a fan of Dal — well to me it’s just another (wholesale) source but one of the few that are still close to Center City

Place rocks plus they sell that burnt orange colored 4′ coving base with a ¼ radius. Awesome.
