Curtis Stein Carpentry

I ended up hearing back from Curtis, once I posted my negative review because he wanted me to take down the review.
Apparently, Curtis was upset that I didn’t give him the window install at my house, so when he saw someone else installing windows, he threw a tantrum and just left in the middle of another job at my home rather than waiting for me to get home and have a discussion. I had tons of other work for Curtis and I was just trying to get all the work done as soon as possible (I chose a different vendor to install the windows because they could get me a volume discount and this way I could get all the work done faster than if just 1 person was doing everything).
I have kept a handyman busy off-​and-​on this whole time (and I still have a bunch of fence work to get started on…).
I’m sad that it couldn’t be Curtis doing the work, but I had no way of knowing when he might ditch me in the middle of another job.

I just recently did a major renovation in an old 1952 building in the Sherman Heights area converting a commercial building into a residence. Kurt installed or hung eight doors for me they’re not your typical doors there 8 foot tall by about 3 foot wide and they came out absolutely perfect he takes a lot of pride in his work and you can tell with the end results. So being very happy with his work I had him come back a couple months later to help me out with another project which wasn’t very typical definitely custom work 100% the outside frame of my back door window system was aluminum white unsightly it had to be brought up to code for the historical preservation look and feel. So what Kurt did was he had vintage redwood aged that he brought over stripped-​down and applied it to the outer surface of the framework not only did it bring the look and feel of the modern looking frame structure to a vintage but it also now provides insulation so the frame doesn’t get hot from the afternoon West Sunset. Thanks curt I’m going to be calling you back for more fire sure.

I left Curtis a voicemail about 8PM on a Wednesday. He called me back about 15 minutes later. We discussed him painting and installing 6 pre-​hung doors. We discussed particulars. I felt very comfortable on the phone with his professional demeanor and knowledge, which led to agreeing on terms and setting up the job for two days later. His prices are extremely fair. He estimated that the job would take two days and it did. He was meticulous, paying attention to the fine details. His paint spraying techniques resulted in no runs and a consistent, quality end product. He took his time in installing the doors, ensuring again, a quality end product. He did a great job cleaning up after completing each room. I wanted to have another door’s casing replaced and the frame reset. He did the additional work at a great price. Curtis is a pleasant, flexible businessman to work with. I completely trust him, and feel extremely confident that he would do a great job for all of his customers. Thanks Curtis for a pleasant experience. We do love our new interior doors.

Curtis installed over 10 doors for us today. He did a great job with ALL the doors, with no problems at all. He has very reasonable prices, is a nice guy, and even hauled away all our old doors! He works hard and quickly. We would definitely recommend his door installation services to anyone needing doors installed. Excellent!

Didnt show up for appt or even call,!, he seemed like he was going to show up. But nothing!!! P he probably would have done a nice job judging from his photos of his work. I’ll never know

Curtis showed up on time, finished the work on budget, cleaned up after he was done, and my doors were like BRAND NEW!!! He saved me thousands from having to buy new doors. He ROCKS. I have worked with tons of carpenters and contractors in my life and Curtis was amongst the best!!! He gets the job done and is a great guy to boot.
