History
Established in 2011.
In the middle of 2011, the Bear decided to take his hobby public. For years, he had been cooking up a ribeye that friends and family declared was the best in San Diego. Finally, he decided to open it up to guests and create an authentic dinner party experience. Since then, there has not been an empty seat in the house.
Every Saturday, ten guests, often complete strangers, get down on a seasonal taste, 2 courses, main course ribeye, dessert and fine wine pairings that won’t be found anywhere else in San Diego.
With food cooked by Bear, who dons a full bear-suit, and accompanied by a wonderful hostess and the legendary Rexford Warnock, its an experience unlike anything else in San Diego.

Manager
Rexford is a Little Italy staple, and can often be found at Cow by Bear on Saturday nights either cleaning the Bear’s shotgun or having an intense game of Duck Hunt on the big screen. He often doubles at bartenders and may just be the most interesting man in San Diego.
