Where do we begin… keep it short… went to check in after a family wedding (we had a confirmation, reservation, and our family had blocked off rooms for the wedding) at 9:30 pm and they had NO ROOM AVAILABLE FOR US! «Sorry…said the management, we had guests that extended their stay.“There we stood in the middle of the lobby in disbelief. «Don’t worry» said the manager «we will send you to our sister hotel in downtown San Diego 40 miles away!» That really took care of the problem! We ended up driving 50 miles back to a family members home. We are now awaiting a call back from corporate headquarters. Unbelievable, right?

Don’t stay here!!! The parking lot is set weird and barely any place to park. The elevators are super old and makes you worry about them breaking down. Those can most certainly be over looked but when you add in a leaky shower that actually hurts your skin when trying to shower and to top it off the tv are super small, and you DO NOT get any premium channels and like I said earlier those also can be over looked but the icing to our disaster Valentine’s Day getaway was the fact they didn’t even bother cleaning the bathroom! There was men’s shavings in the trash and toilet paper in the toilet bowl, like some didn’t flush. Then I call the service office to tell her and she tells me oh we were super busy today it must have gotten overlooked. What??? I don’t want to hear your excuses for being disgusting!!! Now I’m questioning everything in the room if it was cleaned or not! Please don’t waste your money! You are better off at best western, Hilton, Hyatt anywhere including a motel instead of here!!!

I was booked here by corporate travel because every surrounding hotel was full. If that happens to you, just sleep in your car. This hotel is awful!
1. The ground floor rooms that face the parking lot have NO privacy. If you open your curtains so you’re not sitting in the dark, you, your room, and your pajamas will be on display for everyone arriving and departing.
2. There was no hot water this morning because they didn’t expect so many people to be showering at once. What?! Pretty sure that most hotels understand people tend to shower in the morning.
3. The rooms are a mess. There’s no space in the bathroom for your toiletries. Everything is chipped — soap dish, furniture, everything!
4. Toiletries are so cheap. You would be better licking yourself clean.

Quaint hotel. Excellent late-​night staff who even offered us a few complimentary snacks. Room was small, but everything we needed. And the grounds are adorbs, especially the pond with the duckies. Would stay here again.

Clair is awesome, Bryce is the best bartender, Elexis is a sweetheart, Aaron is the chef!!!

Softball team friendly! Stayed here recently during a Triple Crown tournament in Rancho Bernardo and I’d definitely recommend it.
Room was nicely appointed. Staff was friendly and helpful. Laundry facility was great for late night uniform washing! Close to dining and Starbucks. Easy parking and beautiful lake behind the property. We even had the pleasure of watching a wedding from our room. We’ll be back for sure!

Ordinary hotel, the facilities were a bit old, very noisy fan in room. The hotel is not very big with gym and pool though.

Unorganized, unhelpful, willing leave you stranded at the curbside at midnight in an empty parking lot. Or pick you up 45 minutes later for a cost — which they could not disclose to you until tomorrow.
4 stars for the hotel front desk and the cleaning staff.
0 stars for the hotel management.
Was there as a part of a wedding block for a wedding and the place was shockingly unorganized. I am typically partial to Marriott through the years but this experience had convinced me to avoid Marriotts in the future.
The check in and check out were fast and smooth, the cleaning staff were overworked but did their jobs. The front desk clerks were friendly and tried their best.
The transportation was terrible, disorganized, and directly affected our entire experience.
Day of the wedding, the bride and groom were supposed to leave in separate shuttles with their respective parties. Unfortunately there were not enough shuttles and not enough drivers. They had a guest count and head count for the shuttles but DID NOT check as people got on.
They had to find someone last minute to drive the shuttle, who happens to be the cook for the hotel who did not know how to get to the wedding location. He tried his best but management did not put him in a position to succeed.
The hotel had agreed to provide transportation for the guests back to the hotel after the wedding (event was 30 minutes away). However, we were informed at 11PM that not enough people had gotten on the 10PM shuttles that there are now not enough spaces on the 11 oclock shuttle and they do not have enough shuttles to bring us back. They did not have a check list of guests so they had no idea how many people took the 10 oclock and how many shuttles they may need for the 11 oclock.
We ended the night despite calling our friends to help (it was an out of town wedding), having 5 people stranded in an empty parking lot at 11:30PM, including the bride.
The manager on, Joseph, informed us we can either wait 45 minutes for them to get a shuttle to use at unspecified cost (he said he have no idea how much it would cost and cannot check until the next morning), or figure it out ourselves. At that point in the night, with the bride stranded 30 minutes from the hotel after her own wedding, I was done talking to the unhelpful Joseph. Joseph tried, but he, again, was not placed in a position to succeed because of terrible planning and organization on the part of the hotel management and staff.
We ultimately found our own transportation and left the hotel the next morning all with a bitter taste in our mouth.
Good bye Marriott. Hello Sheraton.

En uno de mis viajes de trabajo a la Ciudad de Rancho Bernardo tuve la fortuna de hospedarme en este hotel, es fabuloso, muy tranquilo y las habitaciones son buenas.
El personal detras del mostrador es de lo mas amable y servicial, sin duda volvería de nuevo a este hotel me dejo una muy buena impresion.

Awesome experience and I travel 40 weeks a year for business.
Check-​in staff was helpful and provided me with early access to my room. Everything was clean and one of the managers (Joel) was outstanding in making sure that all aspects of the hotel created an excellent experience. A wedding party was there and Joel was personally walking the halls to make sure everything was just right.
The Bistro team — usually I have a sandwich in my room but the downstairs team of Nikki, Aaron and Connley were so friendly that I ended up staying to watch the game. As Chefs they were outstanding walking out to present the food and making sure that everything was perfect.
Overall my compliments to the manager for having a great team represent a 5 star experience. Thanks, see you again soon.

It’s a very pretty hotel. The staff are superb and friendly. We had to get an extra key and they made it quick and painless.
We rented a couple rooms for my sister the bride and her groom to get ready in. Was clean and beautiful before we got down dirty with the hair and makeup.
The garden out back was gorgeous. Had a pond with ducks n turtles. Landscape well maintained and across the way was the Pearl Chinese restaurant that serve very good food. There’s also a Denny’s just steps away.
Btw. The garden is free to use for any ceremony or celebration, but there’s no way to reserve, you just gotta stake it out and claim it first. Lol

We booked this hotel a few months before our wedding guests would be in town and it did not meet my expectations. I booked through group sales to host my room block for my wedding guests. The guy I originally spoke with, Simon, now no longer works there. The new person who helped me, Justin, was efficient and punctual. He helped me get the block together and confirmed that we can keep the bar open later on Saturday night, since my wedding venue closes at 9:00, and we wanted to keep the party going in an environment where nobody had to drive. The bar /​bistro area was large enough where my guests could all mingle together, which was one of the top qualities I was looking for in a hotel.
I asked for 20 rooms right off the bat and was told they will start with 10, and the block could increase as needed. Having worked in the hotel arena before, I knew that this was not the way to do it, but I went with the flow. I had three different family members express difficulty to me in getting the group rate. I contacted Justin and he corrected the reservations already in place and amended the group block to what I originally asked for, 20 rooms. After this, my guests didn’t express any difficulty.
The front desk person to whom I handed my welcome bags for distribution was the supervisor. He had no personality and did not smile once. You are the SUPERVISOR; customer service is your job! He was not rude, but he certainly was not pleasant. My welcome bags were not distributed upon check-​in as promised. When my mom checked in (who had put them together) she was not handed one, and she mentioned something to the front desk. After that, I didn’t hear anything else of guests not getting a bag.
We arrived Saturday night, and the bartender told me he was closing in 5 minutes. I explained that I had spoken with Justin, who confirmed a month or so ago that the F&B manager would keep the bar open, and the front desk confirmed a week ago that it would not be an issue. The bartender stated that he had to be somewhere at 5:00 am. I can sympathize with him, but not my problem! (By the way, the bar was open until 2 am on Friday). So the bartender got the manager. The manager also tells me I’m SOL. I repeated my explanation of frustration and he went in the back to see what he could do. He came out about 5 to 10 minutes later with the cook, who agreed to take the bar over for us. What was most frustrating about nobody wanting to help and the bar staff coming back on their word, was that the bartender who had to be somewhere at 5 am was still there at around midnight, drinking and hanging out with two of my cousins.
With all the frustration and errors we encountered, I would never stay here again or recommend this place to anyone.

Very clean hotel, nice staff. We got a king-​size bed, stayed for two nights. Pool is small but they have one and they also have a hot tub (if you’re into that). They have a small restaurant in the hotel, very simple foods… But there are good restaurants within a five minute drive (The Barrel, Urge Gastropub, etc.). Overall, we had a very good stay. Nothing bad to say. I’ve included pictures. BtW, apparently they have coffee avail 24/​7, you just have to ask the front desk (this is what we were told).
Things to note:
*Parking lot gets full late at night. You may have to park on the street adjacent to the hotel. This is, honestly, not a big deal as it is less than 400 feet from the hotel’s entrance.
*Free Wi-​Fi though we never used it
*Ask for a room facing the pond
*They have a gym
*Water in the lobby

I am extremely pleased with the COURTYARD by Marriott, 11 611 Bernardo Plaza Court, (North County) San Diego, California. The management staff bends over backwards to make sure that the customer’s needs are met. Everything is perfect; the rooms, the food, the cleanliness, all accommodations — Perfect. You want my honest opinion; stay here and enjoy, for every day you stay in San Diego is just another day in Paradise. :-)

One negative about visit is that the air conditioner didn’t work that well.
I very much loved the small lake in the back and the ability to walk around it. That had to be the biggest draw for me here

I’m gonna stick out my neck and give this place 4 stars. Why? Because the service was exceptional, given there were so many people staying here for a soccer tournament. In fact, this was the most positive experience I’ve had in 6 years of traveling all over Southern California for soccer tournaments.
1. Check-​in: Friendly & fast. Further, offered us cold bottled water while getting checked-​in.
2. Rate: Gave a fantastic group rate (cheaper than government rate).
3. Parking: Although lot got very full, was able to find a spot or a shaded spot.
4. Bistro: Super friendly staff here. I have to give a shout-​out to Gil who was dealing with all the crazy soccer parents on Saturday night and was remained positive & friendly throughout the evening. Plus, food & wine was pretty good too.
5. Amenities: didn’t use the pool, but the gym they kept at a nice cool temperature & provided cold water & towels. Only 2 treadmills, but it was empty when I was in there.
6. Webb Park. There is a beautiful pond/​park behind the hotel. (including a pic). There were several types of ducks (baby ducklings), turtles, koi, etc. Very peaceful & relaxing. Saw a couple taking wedding photos there.
Finally, I’m impressed with a place that can handle that many teenagers running around at all hours. I heard no complaints.

front desk Ryan is the worst, no customer service, I cut my leg doing what he refused to do send house keeping to make the sofa bed he said I had to do it. I showed him my bleeding leg and he laughed and told me he was going to call the police because I threatened him. I finally was forcing him to call and then he said that I was not threatening him.

Had a great stay at this hotel for a great price on a King Suite. I found it through
and I got a suite which included WIFI and parking for $ 140.00. Not a bad deal at all.
The room was huge and was nice and clean when we got there. I had no complaints. This place was like a little one bedroom apartment. Bed was nice and comfy and the beers stayed cold thanks to that fridge. I would defiantly stay here again. CHEERS!!!

I stayed here during a two day business visit. This Courtyard is average at best. My room furnishing was well aged. Window heater unit was very noisy. Cleanliness was bearable, but not great. Another housekeeping surprise: When I returned on my second evening, there was no TV remote to be found. That was no issue during the first evening.
May be my biggest issue is the breakfast place. The line was long and service was lethargic and I had to flag them for missing items. Are there any gold member benefits left? Didn’t get any.
Finally, on check-​out, I was trying to get a final bill, but an hour wasn’t sufficient to post the breakfast charge to the hotel’s billing system. That’s bizarre.
So I left without knowing what my final bill would be.
I still will return, because it is overall okay and in a convenient location to my client’s office, but I definitely wouldn’t go out of my way to stay at this place.

Great décor. Plenty of free parking. A must if in San Diego area.

My bf and I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting SD. No complaints at all. Everyone was super friendly and the rooms were roomy and clean. They allowed us to check in 2 hours early so it was definitely +points for that. Over the weekend, there were soccer teams of 7 – 10 year old boys so there were kids EVERYWHERE. They took over the pool and hot tub. But luckily, my bf and I didn’t mind at all…
They should definitely add that detail to customers when they are checking in or booking a room. Some people wouldn’t be very happy with a bunch of kids/​boys running around. Kids can get loud.
