Lisa Pugliese, R.N., L.Ac. has been specializing in women’s health, treatment for infertility and fertility enhancement for more than 11 years. Lisa takes a comprehensive approach to fertility enhancement, drawing from her background in Western Medicine as well as her studies and training in both functional medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. In this way, Lisa’s practice is unique. She has a great deal of experience working closely with fertility doctors to help her patients become pregnant. Lisa also works closely with women during pregnancy and throughout the postpartum phase.

History

Established in 1992.

Loisanne Keller, OMD opened The Keller Clinic in San Diego in the early 1990’s. She was a pioneer in the Acupuncture community in California and started the California Acupuncture Association. She was one of the first acupuncturists to specialize in women’s health and fertility and was considered an expert in this area. Dr. Keller was a former ICU Nurse and Naturopath.

Lisa Pugliese, R.N., L.Ac. began studying with Dr. Keller in 1997 and took over The Keller Clinic as an owner in 2004 when Dr. Keller retired. Lisa is also a former ICU nurse and has completed extensive studies in the areas of Nutritional/​Functional Medicine in addition to her Master’s Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine. Her practice focuses on internal medicine with a special emphasis on women’s health and fertility enhancement.

Lisa Pugliese studied Nursing at the University of Massachusetts. She graduated with honors in 1992 and moved to Philadelphia where she worked at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

In 1993, Lisa relocated to San Diego and began working at Rady Children’s Hospital. In 1997, she began her studies at The Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She graduated with honors in 2000 and began her acupuncture practice.

Lisa has incorporated her background in Western Medicine into her Acupuncture practice. She has also completed extensive studies in the field of functional medicine.

Lisa is committed to providing comprehensive and holistic care to her patients.

Not often are we fortunate enough to have in our lives people who radiate a genuine care and concern for our well being, for our stability and fulfillment. Lisa Pugliese is one such person. She is an acupuncturist, yes. But more than that. She is a shining example of the best that humanity has to offer — brilliant, loving, comprehensive, humble and generous. Not the usual customer, I am (1) a guy, and (2) an older guy. Nonetheless I went to Lisa to help me with a distressing condition following pneumonia. In two treatments I was on the road to recovery and am improving daily. I feel so much better and Lisa recommended some non traditional meds for me. So 5 stars it has to be.

This review is for Michelle Siazon. I haven’t had the pleasure of receiving a treatment from Lisa, but hope to in the near future. I first came to see Michelle when I was well into my second pregnancy. My hormones were getting the best of me and I wanted to feel happy and settled. I was stressed, full of anxiety and craving calm. I was also having normal pregnancy pains such as hip tenderness and an achy low back. My treatments with Michelle are what got me through delivery. She is an amazing practitioner. Her approach is gentle and compassionate. She is extremely knowledgeable and really takes her time. She genuinely wants you to feel better. I would highly recommend her. Thanks Michelle!

My husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for about 10 months with no luck. Everyone kept telling me the same thing, don’t stress about it so much. But hearing that just made me more frustrated! So I went to see Lisa Pugliese upon the recommendation of a friend. She was really awesome! Talking to her seemed to make everything so much better. We talked about my lifestyle and diet, my health and everything related. We talked a lot and I think that part was huge in calming my stress and allaying my fears about not getting pregnant. She told me that we should just reset and take a few months to get things flowing and in balance, then to try again. She did a treatment and gave me some Chinese herbs and extra folic acid to take.
Over the next month I just felt lighter, happier, less burdened by the issue. I felt comforted knowing that there was nothing wrong with my body. And the issue was on my mind a lot less. I still thought about getting pregnant, but I didn’t worry about it the way I did before. I went to see her a few more times and kept up with the herbs and folic acid. I cleaned up my diet even more, just eating really clean and healthy. About a month after first seeing Lisa is when I got pregnant!
I’m so grateful for all the help she gave me and for keeping me realistic about the whole thing. I’m currently 28 weeks pregnant and I’m continuing to see her periodically. She is a wonderful resource to have. If you’re not successful at conceiving after trying for a while, this is a great place to start before jumping into something more drastic, like fertility drugs.

What is the best method of finding a new business? (besides Unilocal,of course)
Asking your family and friends for recommendations and first hand experiences and this was the case for Lisa P. at the Keller Clinic.
I’ve had issues with hormones for years and decided that my current treatment wasn’t the best for long term therapy. A good friend at work recommended acupuncture and Lisa and the rest is history.
Lisa is warm and friendly, and spends a great deal of time getting to know you. She’s extremely thorough and doesn’t miss a thing. Lisa started out as a registered nurse and thus understands traditional treatment modalities. I’ll admit that I was skeptical going in, but open minded. Lisa did a great job of putting my fears to rest.
Does it work? Well, I can’t speak for everyone, but I can say that personally, Lisa has changed my life. While she specializes in women’s health and nutrition, I do know several people who visit her for a variety of issues such as back pain and depression.
The office is just off Mission Bay drive and always has available parking. The rooms are cozy and warm and I always manage to fall asleep during my treatments, which is a good thing. Her receptionist Amy is also fantastic and keeps everything running smoothly.
Lisa and the Keller Clinic are the way to go.

Lisa was recommended to me through a friend and I can’t even imagine how I have gone this long without her, she’s fantastic! Lisa is a true professional and very good at what she does. Her experience as a nurse and 11 years doing acupuncture is very apparent in her work. The minute you walk into the office, you feel welcomed. The energy is calm and relaxing. I was seeking an acupuncturist that specializes in women’s health because at the time I was 34 weeks pregnant and experiencing extreme sciatica problems. I literally felt relief after our first session! We started doing the pre-​birth acupuncture and pregnancy treatments right away. I feel so much more confident and comfortable the closer I get to giving birth. I love Lisa’s genuine concern for me and my baby’s well being and would recommend her to anyone! I plan on going to her for a very long time!

I LOVE Lisa. I call her the «Miracle Worker». She has completely enhanced my quality of life. I sought her treatment for digestive issues as well as hormonal issues and after my first visit I was on the track to recovery.
Her «bedside manner» is amazing– she’s bright, compassionate and very thorough. Where western doctors may spend five minutes on your history, Lisa spends over an hour on your first visit covering everything from physical to emotional and nutritional aspects.
I am 100% confident in Lisa’s abilities and highly recommend her.

Lisa is an amazing practitioner. I first went to her years ago for persistent morning sickness and, although I was very skeptical, I was desperate. After my first session with Lisa, I was convinced since, to my amazement, it worked!
I see her now for some ongoing «female» and digestive issues. Her treatments and supplements (although not always delicious!) have helped me and now she sees my Mom and sister too.
The first thing that struck me is what a detailed history she took and how much time she took to listen and clarify everything I was telling her. As a nurse, I know how rare that is for a western practitioner. She is empathetic and seems genuinely concerned for her patients’ well being.
Her office is really nice, treatment rooms and beds are cozy, warm and relaxing. I am reluctant to get off that bed at the end of a relaxing acupuncture treatment. I think this is the perfect place to go especially for ppl who are new to acupuncture or chinese medicine. Lisa is also a nurse, so she is able to converse about western treatments and medications that most of us use (or have tried) and can then offer a different perspective that may prove helpful.
