Computer and Ink Store

Excellent service! My printer was not working. I brought it in and Leo showed the cleaning feature to me. It worked! No charge. I’m coming back to get my broken computers checked out!

Do Not Buy Ink from this place if you do not want to ruin your clothes.
The ink I bought from here sprayed all over my clothes and work equipment, completely ruining my $ 75 pants.
I called right after it happened and asked to speak with the owner about this issue. The employee told me he would forward the message and have the owner call when he is available.
But I never received a call. I called back the two days later, and was told that the owner listened to what happened, and could not do anything for me, so didn’t even bother returning my call.
I don’t like to post bad reviews, but when a business owner doesn’t care about his customers and how his product causes damages, he deserves it.

These guys are great. I had a problem with a brand new laptop, and they hooked me up with a solution right away! Their service is second to none. In this day and age when service is lacking in 90% (or more) of businesses, it’s a refreshing change to find a business where customer service is its top priority. Next time I have a problem with my computer, I will certainly be coming back if I’m still in the area. Can’t say enough good things about this business!

Took my iPhone 5 in because it had the «fade to black» syndrome. I had taken it to an AT&T store, but got nowhere, mostly because it was no longer under warranty. I had read that I needed to replace the battery (wrong!) but figured I’d give up a self-​fix and go to a pro.
And that I did.
The Computer and Ink Store looks a bit barren. Few displays; Leo, the repair guy at a simple desk, doin’ his thing; nice ol’ time PB feelin’ and certainly laid back SoCal.
But when business came, Leo knew what he was talking about. He recognized the problem (need to replace the entire front unit – the glass and the next layer), & told me it would be ready by the time I got some cash (for a discounted price of $ 80).
Including the time it took me to greet the ATM and return, the job was done. (He interrupted other repairs.)
Best, quickest, cheapest tech repair I’ve ever experienced and I felt I was dealing with an honest straight-​forward guy.
Good job, Leo. 20 minutes – and well worth it on a busy Saturday before Halloween in PB.

DO NOT GO HERE. THEY BROKE MY IPHONE.
I had a cracked screen on my iphone 5 for about a month. The phone worked completely fine, but I wanted to get the screen fixed. After a month of my phone working fine, I went to this store. Big mistake.
They fixed the screen. As soon as I left the store my phone kept restarting, which was weird. I thought maybe this was normal after a screen repair.
After about a week, my phone died while I was at work. I always keep my phone on so I didn’t realize this would be an issue. Once my phone was off, it started acting really strange. It would not turn on, it had all these weird error messages and overall seemed like something internal was wrong.
Again, I had never had any issues with the phone until the screen was replaced.
I went back to the store and told them my phone wouldnt turn on. They kept asking me if I had dropped it or what I did. I said I had NEVER had any issues until they worked on it. They said they would take a look at it.
I came back the next day and picked up the phone. They said it turned on eventually and «nothing seemed wrong». I took the phone and was on my way. As soon as I left the screen was not working. I could not use half the screen, it wouldn’t respond to my touch. I walked back in and told them now my phone was even WORSE, the screen wont work, and asked what they did.
Long story short, I never had any issues with the phone until I took it in. Aftrer I took it in, phone was broken, internal errors, screen wouldnt work as well. They told me it would be ANOTHER $ 60 TO FIX THE SCREEN. I had already basically paid them to break my phone so why would this time be any different?
I went to the Verizon store and got a new phone. They looked at my old one and said that these guys hadn’t even attached the screen correctly. I looked closely and they were right — the screen was detached.
I am so mad that I let them break my phone. I shouldve gone somewhere else. Not only that but they refused to refund me or fix it, saying that it was my fault. I hope they go out of business. I am going to tell everyone I know in PB not to go here. Luckily I am a promoter in town and know a lot of people in the city. Shame on these guys and their terrible customer service and lack of knowledge! Be careful!

These guys were very helpful, honest and accommodating. Eased my mind when I thought I was hacked! They even gave me a free diagnostic. Customer service w integrity. I’ll be back any time I need computer services.

WARNING!!! DO NOT USE THEM…
I brought them four Iphone’s and one of the phones, the glass and home button was put on incorrectly. I brought it back with in 30 days. They admitted it was not fixed correctly, but said I had to pay cost for the glass. $ 40.00. I gave them $ 300 worth of business and was going to have them fix two other phones.
I found out they do not use apple glue or glass and are NOT certified.
I was willing to lose the $ 40.00 and take my business else were.
I found a GREAT service Tech Gurus, LLC CEO is Patrick Ajou 619−900−4689 he got certified with sprint. He is very honest and up front. He will come to your home/​work and fix it on the spot. I have been very happy with his work and would recommend him!

Okay so I paid 125. they didn’t reapair it correctly. they reused the frame around the glass which is a $ 2 part. the glass is also popping off… like the «guts» of the ipad were put back in correctly adn something is pushing it out. they told me to come back. yea… your open when i work. so, hopefully ill make it from east poway to pb in 30 minutes one of these weekday afternooons. anyhow, i would rather have my money back… and my busted screen back lol

Rocky and his team are awesome! Not only did Rocky rebuild my whole computer from scratch and not charge me a dime extra, him and his team also built a business website for me from the ground up.
He helped me brand my business and come up with a cool logo. He is been so kind and ridiculously patient because I know I’ve been a pain in the butt when it comes to my website, but he is stuck in there with me and help build the whole thing step by step. Words cannot express how thankful I am for Rocky and his team … He has been with me the whole way. Sometimes he’s on a complete different time schedule in another country and he’ll have a meeting with me even when it’s morning here it’s night there. I would trust him and his crew with any computer or IT issues you may have. Rocky is a really great business professional, mentor, and friend. Check them out!

Within seconds of handing the gentleman the ink cartridges needed to be filled, I was sent out with new cartridges and got to keep my old ones. I was beyond shocked how fast and cheap it was!
There’s always a but! Buuuuut… The ink quality is SO beyond poor that I’ve been needing to go to FedEx to print everything out. What a waste of money.

Had the screen on my iPhone replaced. It was really poorly done — the class jutted out from case. The guy said that that was «normal» — at this point I had waited so long for the phone that I didn’t have the time or energy to argue.
I did eventually go back a couple weeks later and another guy that was there was more helpful and confirmed that the condition of the phone was not «normal» and would fix it. The glass screen by now had a bounce to it when touched.
Although this person did a good job at fixing the placement of the screen, it didn’t last. The screen now is completely detached on the top side of phone with a 5 mm gap.
I took phone to Apple Store and they won’t even look at it or redeem any of it for credit. Know that you void any and all warranty and value when you get work outside of Apple done on your devices. Wish I had taken my phone to Apple instead :(

I have been a customer of the Computer & Ink store for years now for my business. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I have shopped around in this area and they have the lowest prices. They have served me very well!

Bought printing supplies at this shop several times when I lived in Pacific Beach and had my laptop serviced once. Vinny and Marteen are always very helpful and informative, giving an honest assessment of what I needed. Plus I enjoy the waving wizard, he adds character to the street.

I am a PB native and have been going here for all my electronic needs for years since they have opened… They have great deals every time for fixing anything i need! I’v also never ben charged for something if they didn’t fix it, they recovered all my friends files on his old computer the he desperately needed… i would not suggest any other place… Best Shop In TOWN!

WARNING!!! This place is a scam! They took $ 130 from me with no problem to have an iPad glass repaired. Within a two hour time frame I picked up the iPad and went out to buy a life proof case. As I was installing a brand new life proof case the glass on my iPad shattered. OMG! I went back to this shop and the guy at the front had the audacity to say the product «life proof» is to blame for the iPad glass to shatter again. He claims it was not in their end! The guy had no problem wanting to take an additional $ 60 from me to have it repaired again! They are in the business of taking money and providing poor quality service. I pointed out how they damaged the corners of my iPad when they installed the glass, but he had nothing to say about that. Stay away from this place people! I should of known better from the first time I walked in. The place is a dump and the place gives you bad vibes. Stupid me thought because the distance was close I should brushed
it off. I should of gone with my gut feeling.

This review is LONG overdue. I discovered this store the first year they opened and have been a loyal customer ever since. They were the first — or one of the first — places in San Diego to do ink refills. I’m a fan for 5 reasons. 1) I save 50% on ink cartridges. 2) I save a lot of money having my old printer repaired by them rather than buying new ones that won’t last very long 3) Their labor rates are refreshingly fair especially when compared to Apple computer repair and individual tech experts I’ve hired in the past. 4) Their customer service is exemplary. They call when they say they are going to call and service is completed when promised. 5) As an environmentalist, it makes me feel very good to support a business that promotes repairs over tossing and buying. Russ and his staff have always been honest, pleasant, and efficient. HIGHLY recommend!
