Comfort Keepers

When I worked at San Diego Hospice years ago we always referred patients to Comfort Keepers for professional, kind home care. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking extra support at home for a loved one.

I have leaned on the staff at Comfort Keepers San Diego to help me with ideas, thoughts and treatments ideas for my Dad’s Alzheimer’s. They have been incredibly helpful and supportive as my Dad’s disease progresses. I have referred Comfort Keeper’s to family and friends who have had great experiences with the company as well. I highly recommend them.

I sent my mom to comfort keepers and they did an amazing job! Great staff! They truly love and care for their clients. I would recommend them to anyone! They really gave me the reassurance that my mother was getting well taken care of!

Where do I start. My mother was not the easiest of patients to say the least. That said, we used Comfort Keepers for approximately six months. My father had mild dementia at the time, so I stressed the importance of consistency in caregivers. There was none. Nor was there consistency in the care managers. As soon as I would complain, a new one would be assigned and we would start all over. Communication was terrible — we were NOT informed when we were getting someone else the majority of the time.
Additionally, the caregivers were to perform basic household chores. I would get there and the vacuuming and dusting hadn’t been done. The caregivers would sit and play games or text and not be actively engaged. And, if we had an overnight shift? Instead of being there for my parents, they told us they could be woken twice during the night to assist (toileting, etc.). If you work the night shift, aren’t you supposed to stay awake?
I could never recommend them. I have since gone direct through
and found a wonderful caregiver — who has credentials and training far beyond Comfort Keepers staff. Additionally, as we pay her directly, I know she’s making far more than minimum. She is an advocate for my father and is an amazing resource (she has been with us for over a year now).
Do your leg work and don’t hire these people.

When I was there an investigator from the state came in!!! Shady!!! Stay away from this place. Lots of discrimination. I came into their office and a woman working there made racist remarks towards me because I’m Mexican. She’s a disgusting excuse for a human being and she should be fired. Her superior should really look into this before someone goes to the labor board and complains. Someone already complained otherwise that nice man from the state wouldn’t be there investigating them. :) karma!!! Sounds to me like they charge the state for hours and they pocket the money. Do your research that’s what shady home care companies do.

I love working for Comfort Keepers! I have been with this company for 11 years. Lots of opportunity to grow, I’m very happy here! We have outstanding caregivers and an awesome team to help support our clients stay safely at home.

Comfort keepers took great care of my mom. The caregivers were on top of all her doctors appointments and made sure she was on time to each and every one of them. The amount of notes I saw them take while at the house was also nice to see. They are very thorough on their procedures and would highly recommend them!!!

I would highly recommend Comfort Keepers home care agency in San Diego County. My wife had a glioblastoma brain tumor and I needed to bring in home care to help her with a number of activities of daily living. The nurses that were sent by Comfort Keepers were better than I could’ve ever hoped for and the responsiveness from the director was what I needed to make me feel comfortable. They understood my wife’s personality and were able to send us nurses that worked perfectly with her. They made sure that my wife’s needs were being met, and the care was excellent. I would highly recommend them. The owner of the company, Matthew Fink, takes great pride in his organization and he made every effort to make sure my wife’s care was of the highest caliber. Additionally Comfort Keepers works very closely with many of the service providers in the community, as such they were able to link me up with many other services that were helpful including home delivered meals, and an emergency alert system. if you need home care, look no further than Comfort Keepers.

As a family member of someone getting care, I’m not impressed with Comfort Keepers. They don’t tell my” uncle” when their is a change and he’s getting a different person. He had 5 different people in 6 days. This is hard on an older person. Now he has an almost regular person. But she is a tobacco chewer and just sits at the table all day watching him. .and spitting in a cup. She isn’t engaging at all. When we have a change of hours she is sullen and pouts. Also. yeah more… she’s trying to sell Amway (?) to my family and anyone who walks in the door. We’re looking for a replacement. but my… would rather keep her than get someone new

We hired Comfort Keepers to help when my dad was discharged from the hospital after a 2.5 week stay. My mom works full time, and was going to be up throughout the night for several weeks to administer medication, so she really needed some help during the day. Comfort Keepers contacted my mom immediately to determine her needs and they were very responsive to her specific requests regarding caregivers. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Comfort Keepers is great. I was desperate for help with my 86 year old dad who resisted the idea of a caregiver, but I could no longer do it myself. But after the first couple of days my dad warmed up to his caregiver and now he enjoys the help and the company, and I can spend more quality time with my dad. Thank you Comfort Keepers.

Comfort keepers are currently assisting a friend who’s life is near the end of the road. They are wonderful, caring, hardworking, loving and always so pleasant to my friend and to us, the neighbors who care about him too! They also care for his dog who needs love too! I don’t know all the care givers names but Josie, Patrick, Ahmed and Shaina are all such beautiful human beings. I know my friend is safe is their hands. Much love Comfort Keepers!

While the caregivers are very caring and helpful, the accounting is not. In the 5 months my parents used Comfort Keepers, they were overcharged 5 times and were told that they had not put down a deposit. I had to call each time they were overcharged, as well as to get their deposit back. When I told the woman in accounting that I thought my mother had paid the deposit via check, her response was «sometimes checks bounce, or they are misplaced.» The deposit was made on a credit card yet, finally returned after several weeks by check. If you choose to use their service, make sure you review your bills carefully. On average, a once a month mistake in their favor, seems not only careless but unethical.

Our training program is outstanding and our team of client care coordinators are absolutely fabulous at making sure our clients are happy, safe and comfortable. When my mom needs help, I’m grateful to have a company that I know and trust be there for me.
