Co-Merge

I used Co-​Merge over a few years in various ways. From working by myself to having a team of three working together on a daily basis to meeting with 12 people from all over the country (and a few from other countries). At all times the facilities were top notch and the staff was incredibly supportive.
If you don’t believe that co-​working is the way of the future, you need to spend a little time a Co-​Merge and see how easy it can be.

Though I haven’t rented a space or actually walked around in their areas, from what I could tell from the lobby waiting room is that this place is a great space for start-​ups, business meetings and cooperatives. (duh, hence he name Co-​merge.)
This upscale, mod deco space is roomy, spacious and allows folks to use their areas for business purposes. What I was able to see through a glass window was a media room which was set up for video and digital marketing. Nice!
I was there for a meeting which ended up happening over the phone but the person in front was very nice to reach out to the person and let me use his cell phone for a duration of the time. I would like to go back there and learn more about what they have to offer. giving me some ideas…

Well, this place is cool. It has a cool vibe. There is a unique rooftop area where you can eat outside anytime. When you walk in, you’ll love the design of the place.
I stayed here about 2 months with about 15 other coworkers so my experience is limited to that.
You pay for many things ala carte so check out the pricing for yourself on conference room usage etc.
Printing requires a password.
Parking is good if you make a deal with ACE parking down the road at the Civic Center — about $ 120/​month.
We outgrew the space. This space might be a solution for businesses on the small side.

I attended a panel here today and what a fantastic office oasis smack in the middle of downtown. The have a rooftop terrace that housed a quick lunch and a conference room that sat about 50 comfortably-​including all our tech and equipment.
There’s second level with offices and desks for more permanent peeps and downstairs there is conference rooms and day desk space. I peaked around and checked out the kitchen/​coffee set up… and I kinda wanna move in.
I actually called a few months ago about booking a space for a few day and they were reasonable and competitive with other places in town-​but we switched locations and I couldn’t book sadly.
It’s on the top of my list for future plans!

This is a great facility to work, meet, have seminars and collaborate. Owner Michael and his business partner have done a great job designing and implementing a great atmosphere.

This space is perfect for start-​ups who are looking to have overhead flexibility without sacrificing the common resources that are typically necessary to induce such a efficient working environment.

I started out using their service when I had one employee and myself working 40 hours a week… the workspace was economical (about $ 750 to $ 1,000 per month) when I was paying for two people in the space, however, when I had more than two employees in the space it was more economical to just get a space in the east village… The other thing I liked was patio on top of the building. I used it to get away and get some fresh air. Parking was a little challenging at times as the most economical all day parking is in the civic center parking ($ 8 a day with validation). I did feel at times that I was getting nickel and dimed to pay to use the private rooms when I was spending almost $ 1,000 a month already. The great thing was working with other like minded people.

Great people running this place. I’m here often for the Kauffman Million Cups presentations. The building is well appointed and has great resources. I would definitely recommend the work space here.

Had to schedule a very important meeting today and did not want to do it at the library this was an excellent space for that meeting. The charge $ 8 an hour just to rent space or 20 dollars an hour for a conference room it is definitely worth the price. It is environment with not too many distractions where you can get a lot of work done. I will definitely be using this facility again.

joined Co-​Merge this month to work on my startup (web development) in a better environment than my garage. Best decision i have made! Lots of the review focus on the networking and relationships that are available but its also simply a great work environment for those of us that just need to focus distraction-​free; the networking all goes on in closed conference rooms. The effect that interior design has on your productivity cannot be overstated and is a hot topic right now. See: Google campuses. Co-​Merge is right on the leading edge of this concept

I cannot emphasize enough how amazing Co-​Merge is. My friends all have office envy, and I can’t blame them. Co-​Merge is not only a beautiful environment — with lots of natural light; tasteful décor; ‘amenities” such as a free endless supply of Café Virtuoso coffee; and a fantastic rooftop patio — but it is also full of amazing people, and creates the perfect networking opportunity, regardless of what type of business you are in.
I joined Co-​Merge four months ago, after researching a few other downtown shared work spaces, and quickly realized that I had made the right choice. The owners, Robert and Michael, are amazing. They are helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, and go out of their way to accommodate those working out of the space. There have been MANY a request I have made, expecting to get turned down, some of them last minute «emergency» requests, and every time they come through. Then there’s Cassidy, who helps manage the space. She’s witty, welcoming, and a gem. I can honestly say I look forward to going into work… not many people say that!
The other people I have met through working here have led to opportunities for the non profit I work for, which would never have happened outside of these walls. Thanks to Co-​Merge, one of our programs which was on the verge of shutting down now has a chance of staying open, all thanks to the people I have met here. Imagine walking into a coffee shop everyday, and not knowing who you will meet, where they will work, or what opportunity they might be able to afford you or your business. Welcome to Co-​Merge. (But add in conference rooms with 360 degree whiteboards, and high tech equipment for use by all).
Co-​Merge creates a work space where people can collaborate, be creative, develop mutually beneficial business relationships, as well as friendships, all while working from an environment that is fun, comfortable, and a place you look forward to being. It is truly «comersion» at its best!

Great location for an Office Space. Especially if you live in downtown and just want to walk to work. Very friendly staff that will help you if you can’t work a print/​fax/​scan/​copy machine like me. Members here are very nice as well. I highly recommend.

I was visiting from out of town this week, and was very happy to be able to find an office to work out of. CoMerge is awesome! I can try to describe the environment — friendly, corporate but laid-​back. There are several areas if you’re just dropping in for the day– I love that there are bar-​height desks (so you can stand if you wanted to or sit in the high office chairs, which are extremely comfortable) as well as regular desks and armchairs with little pull out shelfs.
The rooftop is beautiful and the facilities are excellent. Good organic coffee. If you need to be productive, drop the dough and you can be sure you’ll get work done here.

Everyone I have met with here has been impressed with the space.
They are always having events with great speakers and good networking opportunities.
Parking isn’t horrible, but make sure you bring coins because there are still a lot of old school meters nearby. Otherwise, they have a contract with a lot down the street where you can pay $ 6 a day.
Co-​merge is my office downtown and it’s where I go to get real work done.

After one year at Co-​Merge, it is THE office, if you need a workspace, with lots of meeting spaces, 5 – 6 networking events a week and a fabulous rooftop deck for lunch or casual client gatherings.
Co-​Merge is divided into six types of spaces that are available for use. Wifi is in all the spaces:
1. Open unreserved seating. This area consists of a larger area with new desks and chairs. Each of the tables has a pop-​up power outlet on the table so there is no reaching underneath to power-​up
2. Small desks — some reserved for monthly members, and the remainder are open. For those who want a daily workspace, or for a group working together, you can reserve a series of desks together. The desks that are not reserved are open;
3 EIGHT conference rooms! This is my second favorite amenity. Conference room sizes range from two to 75 people. Amazingly the biggest conference room also seems to be the most frequently used. Two of the conference rooms have IP conferencing for high definition video conferencing;
4. Kitchen & Copy area. The small kitchen offers free coffee, refrigerator, ice maker, filtered water. The copier/​printer/​scanner is networked so you can easily print. I don’t use the printer or copier much, but every time I have had a need to print or copy it has been a trouble-​free experience.
5. Two small telephone booths. Adjacent to the small desks are two small rooms. If you need to make a private call, step into the booth with your phone, or use the VoIP phones provided by Co-​Merge for your call.
6. Rooftop — my favorite amenity. Need to get away for lunch, just head up to the roof. No views of the water, but there is abundant sunshine.
Alright, I told you all of the good things, so what is it that I don’t like? There are no «quiet zones.». Much of my professional time is spent reading and writing. It is difficult to concentrate if someone is on a call, speaking with a colleague or when music is playing. It would be great if there was a separate «quiet» room that was isolated from other areas.
A feature found at Co-​Merge that is separate from the office services is business networking. Many small business entrepreneurs work at Co-​Merge. Each week Co-​Merge hosts 5 – 10 networking type meetings. Each Wednesday from 9 am — 10 am is a meeting called 1 Million Cups of Coffee where two entrepreneurs present their business.

I love CoMerge !!! I am self employed and live in the Gaslamp area. Working out of here on a regular basis gives me a professional setting to meet my clients. It’s also a great place to find other entrepreneurs who are like minded.
The staff is overly friendly and very helpful.

We recently held an event here, and after first stepping inside, I knew I loved this place. First of all, the contemporary feel of the wood and metal architecture is awesome. Secondly, the art showcased inside MAKES the venue. I spend a good 30 minutes looking at it, taking pictures, etc. I love it!
The staff there is incredibly accommodating and the venue is clean and conducive to productivity. While I haven’t worked there before, I could totally see myself loving the environment. Only draw back is parking, but I guess that’s what you get for working in downtown.

I’ve been looking for a community workspace for a while now and co-​merge is the best of the bunch. It’s main advantage over the other options in SD is that it allows you to book & pay for workspace hourly vs. daily or monthly. This is good for people like me who work in smaller chunks of time between meetings and calls. Why pay for a whole day when I only need 3 hours? The more hours you buy the lower the rate, which can range from $ 4-​$ 8/​hr, & they never charge you more than 5 hours at a time even if you are there for an entire day.

–they have a deal with a nearby parking lot $ 6 all day parking, or get lucky and find a space out front (4 hr parking)

–the people working here seem to be friendly and nice

Sometimes to truly innovate, you have to step outside of the corporate box. Co-​Merge is a professionally modern space for startups and entrepreneurs to redefine business.
I’ve attended a workshop in the Training Room as well as a networking event for those in the local startup /​tech industry and was impressed on every visit. The interior is fresh and modern. With various office spaces for rent combined with an inspiring rooftop lounge area, the idea of starting up my own company isn’t so far fetched.
