My son has always wanted LASIK, and once he turned 18, I started to research the best surgery options and selections. Immediately all results turned to Dr. Feldman. Scheduling the initial appointment was easy, and the consultation was meticulous, in a good way! They were extremely thorough. We felt confident and at ease with the decision to choose Clearview to complete the procedure. The entire staff is positive, encouraging and extremely knowledgeable. The moral is contagious. I would recommend Dr. Feldman to everyone!

I am rarely motivated to write a review for anything that is not related to food, but I definitely felt the desire to join others on Unilocal and praise Dr. Feldman and her staff at Clearview LASIK Center.
I had been considering LASIK for quite a few years now, but didn’t have the financial means to go through with it. I finally decided to bite the bullet, use flexible spending, and make it happen.
Dr. Feldman’s staff was wonderful. The women at the front desk are welcoming, friendly, and witty – which is really useful when you’re entering an office that can cause many potential clients anxiety. I mean, you’re going to cut flaps into my corneas and I’ve never met any of you… a little humor was incredibly appreciated from this high-​anxiety patient.
The staff member that did my exams was wonderful. She was not only knowledgable about the procedure, but was very chatty and friendly, which helps distract from the exams and helps you feel like you are part of their office family.
Dr. Feldman then met with me for longer than I had expected during the consultation. She proved herself incredibly sharp and very invested in her work.
The surgery itself could not have been easier. The staff are excited for you and your new eyes, which makes you excited. The surgery was entirely painless, you get your very own teddy bear to squeeze just in case you’re nervous (like I was), it took less than 10 minutes, and the post-​surgery instructions were easy to follow. By the next morning, I was seeing better than I had in years. And today, one week later, I am positive my vision is better than ²⁰⁄₂₀.
Dr. Feldman is a fine surgeon; her staff are friendly. Why go anywhere else?

Five stars for Clearview and Dr. Sandy T Feldman!!! I started looking into Lasik back in November of 2015 when I was planning health expenses for 2016. I found Dr. Feldmans office from Unilocal.It was incredibly close to my work, so I scheduled an appointment, after reading about a million reviews.
When you walk in, you are welcomed into the office from one of their front desk workers. All of them have been incredibly polite. The office is well decorated and very clean.
During my initial visit, Patrick handled my exams. Patrick and I quickly bonded over being Buckeyes. He was great in explaining the different machines and handling the first round of exams. When he confirmed I would be a candidate, we talked pricing. I wasn’t expecting to get the procedure until 2016, so we scheduled a followup date for my eyes to be dilated and the surgery. Shortly thereafter, I met Dr. Sandy T Feldman. She was incredibly pleasant and kind. She seemed very genuine. I immediately felt comfortable with her operating on my eyes. Throughout the visit, I felt like I as a person was valued, which for me is priceless.
I was a little price tag shocked, so I did look elsewhere for an opinion. What I learned what that my astigmatism makes for expensive eyes. Mostly importantly I learned not all Lasik providers made you feel comfortable and taken care of either. I quickly abandoned the second place (which wasn’t all that much cheaper anyways) and knew to stick with my first choice.
I went in for my second appointment at Clearview. I forget the name of the woman I worked with on this visit (because she also participated in my actual surgery), but she was delightful. We went through my scans again and dilated my eyes. One of the other doctors, who was a nice well mannered gentleman, performed an eye exam and asked if I had any additional questions.
Surgery day! I arrived a few minutes early. Completed some final paperwork and away I went. They give me something for my nerves (oh thank goodness, because I was incredibly nervous) and in I went for pre op cleaning and prepping. When it was my turn, I was given a teddy bear (which I slept with, no joke) and walked to the chair. Dr. Feldman, and the sweet woman whose name I need to ask at my three week follow up, sat me down. Explained what would be happening and put in the numbing drops.
This needs it’s own paragraph — THE PROCEDURE DID NOT HURT ONE BIT. the numbing drops work perfectly. The things they put in your eyes are a little weird, but doesn’t hurt at all.
Dr. Feldman tells you how great you are doing the entire time. She really does an excellent job communicating with you and keeping you calm. Less than 10 minutes in total, I was getting my picture taken with Dr. Feldman post surgery. Things were blurry, obviously, but I could see. My boyfriend was in the waiting area, as they let him watch from outside the room, and I was left to introduce them.
I was provided with instructions for the rest of the day (sleeping pill, eat, sleep). Unfortunately for me, it seems the sleeping pills didn’t work for me as well, so I did for some discomfort. That has nothing to do with the doctor, so it has not bearing on my review. A couple aspirin and asleep I went.
The next morning you will have a post operation eye exam. My eyes, though sensitive to light, did great! I was able to read a tiny, tiny line of letters already. Dr. Feldman also said she was happy to see how well the incision looked already. I was told my follow up wouldn’t be for another 3 – 4 weeks! She does ask if you would be willing to get video recording about your experience. Of course, though my face was swollen like a balloon (which happens if I even cry too hard from a sad movie), I said yes because this decision was one of the best I’ve made.
I highly recommend Dr. Feldman and her office for your Lasik. Her staff really does care and I promise it is worth it.

I had a terrible experience. I went here before 15 years ago and it was great. So when I needed a touch up I went back. This time around EVERYTHING was poor. First I never saw the doctor, then I could not schedule the follow up appointment because they lost my chart or they were reviewing my case. Numerous times I called and Kristie or Patrick said they would get back but never did. They faxed my personal information (DOB, SSN etc) to my place of work (a HIPPA violation). After months of not able to arrange my appointment I asked them to please refund my money. They said they would «and make everything right» but they have not done that either. I asked to talk to Dr Feldman so she could explain what was going on, since I found this lack of professionalization so odd but she would not return my call. This has been going on since July 2015. I am extremely disappointed and out a lot of $$. This is my first review but wanted to help others from having the same bad experience.

I’ve come to Dr. Feldman’s office for many years. I get that they no longer take my insurance, medical insurance that is. I spoke with them three times on the phone about my eye Insurance is separate from the medical, I told them that I have VSP, they told me all three times that they do except VSP eye insurance! I get all the way down here from Ramona which is an hour drive or more, just to find out they don’t except my eye insurance. I don’t believe anybody in the office knows what they are doing! not to mention the office staff was very rude to me. This place has sure gone downhill. I would Think twice before coming here.

At first I was hesitant to get laser eye surgery at all because I had previously had issues with dry eyes but the surgery went very smoothly and no dry eyes for me !!! (:
Dr. Feldman is extremely kind and patient. I get very nervous around any form of medical procedures and she made my experience very soothing and painless. If you are considering eye surgery, i wouldn’t consider any other place, it’s hard to beat this kind of customer service.
The only issues i had was after the surgery (when the numbing eye drops wore off) I had scratchy eyes and the sleep medicine they gave to me didn’t make me tired at all. In fact I remember just a few hours after the surgery and the sleep medicine having been consumed an hour earlier, I found myself doing house choirs because I was trying to tire myself out.
The day after surgery my vision was great (although glarey at night) and I was able to go out and enjoy my Saturday glasses free (wearing sunglasses though since your eyes will be sensitive to light).
Also if you ever feel worried about anything pre or post surgery, this place is open late in the evening and they always have answers, so you feel at ease.

Dr. Feldman is one incredible surgeon. It is very clear to me why she does what she does. My boyfriend just had lasik done and he could not be happier with the procedure. He said she had a very soothing voice and made everything seem as effortless as possible. And it was cool for me as well, because I got to watch the whole thing! There was an assistant in the room with me that explained every step so I could understand what was going on. From the consultation to the actual surgery, the whole entire staff has been extremely helpful and friendly, and I know that’s what they strive on. Thank you all so much! You’ve changed my boyfriends life forever and we couldn’t be more thankful.

Very professional people. Polite and excellent patient care. I would highly recommend to anybody that is considering getting any type of vision correction.

I am so thankful that I chose my eyes to Dr. Sandy T. Feldman. Her team was extremely professional and very welcoming There were no surprises, I was provided with the best care possible!
It has been two months since my surgery. Not only do I no longer have to worry about contacts or glasses … My vision is better than it ever has been. I’m so happy and thankful!

I know I’m not alone when it comes to the fear of someone touching their eyes (I can’t even put contacts in without help and sedatives… Taking them out is worse). I have to say this was the most incredible experience from the start all the way to where I am now. The whole staff was so friendly and accommodating. I had the pleasure of working with Patrick during my candidacy tests. My appointment was on Wednesday Nov. 4 2015 at 6pm. He’s got a great sense of humor, and was really calming throughout the whole process. I have a weird, awkward, «only funny to me» sense of humor that automatically kicks in when I’m nervous/​anxious. He handled it with finesse and I appreciated it very much. The initial tests took about an hour. Once they take your measurements and such, they recommend the procedure that you would be best suited for… For me is was custom LASIK. I’ve had bad sight for so long I jumped at the earliest appointment (not to mention the amazing financing options you get to chose from, there’s no good reason not to)… Friday Nov. 6 2015 at 530PM was the day. When I checked in, they gave me a Xanax, to help with nerves. After a few minutes they brought me in back where they had me put the trusty ol’ spectacles in a white paper bag (parting was such sweet sorrow, emphasis on sweet), rubbed iodine on my face, reviewed post op care, gave me a wicked cool blue hair net and matching shoe covers before ushering me into another waiting room with a couple other blue clad ladies and gents. Here you get to see other patients go before you, entering nervous and walking out between 8 and 10 minutes later with huge «you know what» eating grins from ear to ear (big help with the nerves). Dr. Sandy Feldman… I cannot say enough. She was so gentle and soothing, I feel like it was over before I realized it had begun. They give you a little teddy bear before your procedure to hold, a thunder buddy. They sit you in a recliner and your vision is blurry… When you sit up, it’s PERFECT! It felt like a miracle. I had zero pain, none the day after when I had my follow up to confirm my now perfect vision, none the day after that. I’m so happy with the whole experience, my sister has already made her appointment! Stop wasting money on glasses and contacts. This is so worth it!

Well done. My wife and I both got our eyes done and now have perfect vision. Staff is friendly and the Dr’s are knowledgeable. Wait times were always short and the front end staff is very friendly.

FIRSTLY, I wanted to say that I have a HUGE fear of eyes and anxiety through the roof when it comes to eyes, when I was younger I couldn’t even be in the same room as an ET doll because his eyes were too large and scared me haha. ok anyways
I have never been able to see, since kindergarten I have had to wear glasses and it got progressively worse each year. I was severely nearsighted, I could only see clearly if I had something 3 inches from my eyes (up close though, like to pull a splinter out of my finger, I could see phenomenal and magnified). When getting my eyes checked, I could never remember even being able to see the big «E» on the chart that optometrists use.(Legally blind pretty much)
My glasses were so thick that they would always slid down my face, so I started contacts in high school and they worked out for awhile… but then. the dreaded infections/​irritations started a couple years ago.
I had 3 coworkers who went to Clearview and had Sandy Feldman do their LASIK and all 3 highly recommended her, they all said they wouldn’t let anyone else work on their eyes. Since it was a free consultation I said why not, so a scheduled one that week.
I went in and Patrick was the person who was going to see if I was a candidate for LASIK, my anxiety was going berserk. I kept saying. «please I don’t want the puff of air test, it scares me and hurts». repeating it so much that when he said «we don’t do the puff test here» it took me a couple mins to calm down and realize what he said… THANK GOD!
So any ways I don’t want to write a book as a review so I will keep it simple from here on.
Patrick walked me through every test he did and let me know I was a candidate, the whole time making sure I was comfortable.
LASIK isn’t cheap, so they have a deal with Care Credit to make payments without interest for 2 years.
I was sold! I made an appointment within the next 3 weeks or so.
2÷20÷15 was the day… the day I have someone use a laser to cut my eyes and hopefully correct them… my anxiety was crazy all day. almost crying and wanting to throw up.
My mom went with me because you can’t drive afterwards (obviously haha).
You get to fill out all of these forms before hand while you wait, I remember looking at everyone else waiting and they were all smiling and laughing. I am thinking «What the hell is everyone so calm for!!!»
Then they take you back, give you an anti anxiety pill, clean your eyes up, add numbing drops, and then walk you to a seating area in the back.
After enough time to let the pill kick in, it was finally my turn… I couldn’t see anything because my vision was so bad so I had to have the nurse and my mom walk me to the door where the procedure is done. Then at that point Sandy walked me in and laid me down.
The seat they used swivels to the left and then the right, she clicks you to the left to work on that eye and then to the right for the other eye.
It was the quickest thing ever! No pain, I was totally comfortable. Sandy Feldman walked me through every step of the way. Then she sits you up and asks if I could see the clock… If I wasn’t on medication I probably could have cried… I could see, its still slightly blurry but OMG the first time in my whole life I could see.
So now it has been 7 months and I can see 20÷15… coming from someone who’s vision was worse than ²⁰⁄₄₀₀ (I think that’s how it is displayed). Its a miracle!
The side effects I had were eye dryness and halos/​glares at night.
The eye dryness was really bad at first but got better quickly as I healed.
The glares improved but still slightly there, but I see better than I did before at night so I am still 100% satisfied!
Everyone needs to go and make the choice to change your life so your comfortable. I did and I couldn’t be happier!
Plus… everyone that works here is super attractive, its a plus! Once you get your eyes fixed you get to see some goof looking people on all your follow ups! haha ;)

I’d like to update that after posting my initial review, Clearview Lasik reached out to me to schedule an appointment and an enhancement surgery. Everyone in the office has been very helpful, and kind, which is more than I expected since my return was due to a negative review.
I’m currently deciding if I do want to move forward with an enhancement as I am having concerns with potential side effects of an additional surgery; but I am very appreciative of the office contacting me to make things right. I wish I had encountered these employees at the beginning of my experience, but am glad to be speaking with them now. I think it shows that this office does care about their reputation, and patients, and I do appreciate what they are now doing for me.

It’s been one week since my appointment and while I was just going to write off my visit because it was unpleasant, I decided to write about it in hopes that the office makes changes.
I waited 15 minutes for my appointment, no big deal. The front desk gals were super pleasant and helpful. I was walked back into the exam room by a young gal (cannot remember her name) and she said, «I’m going to get you started and then the doctor will come in.» She performed some tests and the whole thing took about 10 minutes. The doctor should have come in, maybe I would have spent another 5 minutes and then I would have been on my way. That didn’t happen.
Unbeknownst to me, my appointment was used as training for an upcoming doctor. After the gal examined my eyes (by the way, she touched my eyes without gloves) she left the room and closed the door. I heard her consulting with two other doctors, one female and one male. They must have been right outside the door (not very professional) because I heard everything they said. They’re session took about 15 minutes.
The gal comes back in the room, asks me a question and then leaves again, consulting with the two doctors. That’s another 15 minutes. She comes back in and proceeds to tell me the treatment plan, which I already knew because I could hear everything they were saying. I say thank you and start to get up out of the seat. She asks me to wait because the doctor was going to come in. She leaves, closes the door and I hear the doctors say to her, «so, how did it go?» They spend the next 15 minutes discussing her interaction with me regarding my treatment plan.
Right before the male doctor came in, I heard him ask the gal «is she cute?» He came in, introduced himself (at this point I just wanted to get out of there and I don’t remember his name) and start to regurgitate the treatment plan that I’ve already heard 2 times now. I ask him, «is she a doctor in training?» He said yes. I told him, «I could hear everything you guys were saying, these walls are very thin.» He just laughed it off.
He put on gloves (when he did that I told him that the gal touched my eyes without gloves on and he said he would talk to her about that), examined my eyes and then I left.
He wanted to schedule me for a follow up appointment but no thank you… I won’t be going back to that place.

I thank everyone at Dr. Feldman’s office for the wonderful experience that I’ve had. From beginning to the end it was quick, easy, and effortless. I had Shiggy as my assistant, and he helped me through the entire procedure. The office is very personable, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Anyone thinking about Lasik surgery or PRK should DEFINITELY go here. It’s WORTH EVERY PENNY!

This office has great staff. Friendly caring and worry some. For being number one in San Diego and 10^th in the nation at lasik, the doctor was careful and very tenative, my wife and I both had lasik and the Asa procedure done, with great success. I had been wearing glasses with no chance at contacts for 21 years, my wife wore glasses and contacts for 10+ years. I would recommend this doctor and office to anyone, which I already have. They give you a bear and explain to you and talk to you like your a person here. Not as another dollar sign. If I had to do it again I’m coming to clearview.

It’s been 3 months since I had my PRK surgery. I just had my latest appointment for follow up today. I’ve been very happy with everyone I’ve dealt with since my initial appointment.
When I went in for my initial exam I met with Alex for most of the time there. She was excellent — she described the how & why for each step that I went through. I then met with Dr. Feldman along with a gentleman (who’s name escapes me — schedule/​finance) and each step was explained so there were zero surprises.
When it came to the day of the surgery again Alex was the one who helped me both pre and post op. No different than before as she was very helpful each step of the way. During the surgery Dr. Feldman gave me a step by step description of what was happening.
Fast forward to today and my third follow up. I have another one in a month but so far so good. Everything has been progressing nicely — and if you understand PRK, it’s healing process takes quite a bit longer than LASIK.
I live in Kansas City & San Diego. When I was in KC I met with one of the ‘best’ LASIK eye doctors in the area who is also someone I have had past experience with. They’e an excellent eye center and I went through LASIK/​PRK pre-​exams also. When it came down to it Clearview was way more informative & structured — so they were an obvious choice.
I have no problem recommending Clearview & Dr. Feldman to people looking for PRK or LASIK.

I would like to compliment Drs. Feldman, Johnson, and their entire staff (George, Patrick, Shiggy, Katie, etc.) as they have provided excellent and extremely professional service to both my wife and myself. My wife had PRK Mono in 2013 and I had Lasik Mono last July. I gotta say that we both used to require the assistance of glasses to see. Evelyn couldn’t see at all without them and I couldn’t see distance without them. Now, that has all changed and is a thing of the past thanx to the Clearview Eye and Laser Center! I can’t tell you all how many times I would misplace those glasses! Really frustrating. The center even graciously provided me a military veterans discount for my procedure. Can’t say enough positive remarks about you guys!!!

Been wanting to get LASIK for some time now, and I finally pulled the trigger. Unilocaled for nearby LASIK centers and found Clearview was within walking distance of my work. Requested a consultation online, and got a call the next day to schedule a consult. The staff was very friendly and professional. Patrick was my main tech, and he walked me through the facility and performed some tests. Dr. Feldman, Patrick and the rest of the staff were nice and accommodating, answered the questions I had, and I didn’t feel pressured.
The price was what I expected, and I scheduled my LASIK procedure for the following Friday at 3PM (1÷6÷15).
Patrick called me the Monday before the surgery to confirm the appointment, and go over some more details on what to expect the day of the surgery.
Day of the surgery, I arrived 10 mins before 3PM and there were a good amount of people in the lounge. I heard there were 29 procedures scheduled for that day. I filled out the required paper work, scheduled my post op for the next day, and waited for my name to be called. At 4PM, my name was called, I paid, got Xanax, and one of the technicians prepped me for surgery (numbing eye drops/​disinfecting my eyes). I chatted with some people in the waiting room (next to the «operating room»). Procedure started a little after 5PM and finished shortly thereafter (~10 mins). Wife arrived as I exited the «OR», and took me home.
Next day, I woke up and could see pretty clearly. I felt comfortable enough to drive myself to my post op. My eyes were quickly examined and they confirmed I had ²⁰⁄₂₀!
My only gripe with Clearview is the wait times, for both the consultation and the day of my surgery. During my consultation, I found myself waiting in a couple of rooms for more than 10 mins. Not sure if it’s any different anywhere else, but expect at least 2 hours for consultation, and 2 – 2.5 hours for the surgery day.
Overall, I am very satisfied. Thanks Dr. Feldman and the Clearview staff!
TIPS:
–Use your FSA if your work provides it.
–Expect your eyes to be dilated during your consultation.
–If you plan on taking advantage of the payment plans, make sure to sign up with care credit before your surgery.
–On your surgery day, talk to your technician about getting the generic versions (name brand meds are typically more expensive) of your medicated eye drops (antibiotic & anti-​inflammatory).
–Write down any questions you have. I ALWAYS forget what I want to ask when the time comes to ask…

Dr. Feldman and her team do an amazing job! I had LASIK surgery 2 weeks ago, and now I have perfect vision! She and her staff provide friendly, attentive, and professional care, and make you feel very comfortable throughout the whole process.
