It was my first time coming here I saw Unilocal reviews that they were good so I went in and they are true! This place is the go to nail salon ! My nails came out amazing! Lily definately knew how to fix them from a previous salon I went too my nails came out so good and they are so friendly there I will definately be going back there !!

My daughter needed to get her eyebrows waxed and this is right up the street from our home. The lady that did they waxing not only took off half of my 15 year old eyebrows but a huge part of her skin above her right eye.
My nails that were done came out crooked and the older lady filed part of my cuticles off. We will never go back!

WARNING: The management switched at this place this week, so any review prior to mine is for a different shop essentially.
That being said, I chose this place based on the review for cheap but pretty good quality gel manicures and cleanliness, not knowing of the management change. I went with a group of 6 women and we were all getting gel manicures, two of us also getting pedicures. We called to make an appointment that morning so we didn’t bombard them by surprise. It wasn’t until we arrived and began picking out colors that one in our group noticed a cash only sign, which was a little upsetting that it wasn’t mentioned on the phone. However, no big deal.
We got our nails done by a few different women, and they were all very friendly. They were laughing with us, talking to us the whole time, and even gave us some life advice. Unfortunately, this review is for the nails, so I could only give a two star for their service.
Fast forward to time to pay and we are all charged $ 27 for a gel manicure ($ 32 for mine with a design). This caught us very off-​guard since we were anticipating the Unilocal price of $ 18. But, we paid it and were on our way.
Pros:
~ Friendly service
~ Clean salon
~ Good selection of colors
~ Some of the manicurists used sunscreen under the UV light! :)
Cons:
~ Pricey! For the pedi/​gel mani it was over $ 50.
~ The gel/​fingers burned when it was setting under the UV light
~ Attention to detail (there was paint on my fingers and parts of my nail not painted, my nails were also left as uneven surfaces)
~ The gel chipped within 1 day of getting them done

Been having a hard time finding a new nail place !! Thought I would try out this spot since it’s near my home. I called ahead to make an appointment. Arrived and Lilly began helping me right away. I got a new acrylic set with gel on top. She did every step to perfection. Checking the length of each nail. Asking if I liked how it looked as she went. She even used a gel color of her own ! She also applied sunscreen before doing the gel which a must for me. My nails came out perfect. I love them and loved Lilly. I’ll be back

I would only trust Katherine to do my manicures and unfortunately, her schedule is hard to work around. I had a 3 o’clock appointment with her today so I drove all the way over and scheduled my day off around this appointment. I took my car to the Midas next door to get my oil changed only to walk over and be told that she can’t make it to my appointment. I work very hard and only have Tuesday’s off. I understand that things happen, however, some notice would be appreciated. They mentioned that they don’t have my number but Katherine has my cell and I actually sent her a text message this morning. Unfortunate because Katherine does a fantastic job on my nails.

Stopped in after reading Unilocal reviews and happy I did. Came in around 10:30 on a Saturday morning and it’s quiet and peaceful. The owner is doing my pedicure as i write this and she couldn’t be any sweeter. I asked her about using the Unilocal check in offer and she swayed me away from it because they are running an even better special. She’s given me some secrets on how to treat a stubborn corn on my little toe. Great attention to detail and customer service. They add .50 for using debit and 1.00 for credit. Better than most other places!

While I went in hoping to update to 5 star…
I didn’t appreciate you commenting that I’m rough with my hands especially considering during my first visit I informed you I spent a lot of the time in the gym and you still guaranteed longer than a week.
The fact you appeared annoyed I was even back after you emailing me saying come back so you can do it again free of charge… Was also not appreciated.
Even though you refused to do the French tip again I do appreciate you doing my nails again free of charge.
My nails looked rough day one! You knew before hand. I have never heard of nails lasting longer then a few days-​week, period… for anyone! My advice don’t guarantee anything.
My next advice… You should probably also take care of your own nails as well. Walk your talk.
To the other woman that did my toe nails, thank you they still look good for being 3 weeks old. you didn’t guarantee anything, you appeared calm and relaxed, and your own toe nails looked great! Great job lady.

Terrible service and terrible manicure!!!
I went in there for a french manicure. I’d never had one before so while she was working on it I was trying to chat with her and kind of learn how it was done. The older woman working on them was rude beyond belief and answered my questions like I was a stupid little girl who should just be quiet. She was rough and cut me, and I had to ask her to refile 3 nails because they were crooked and coarse, and she was very rude about it like I was bothering her asking her to fix it.
When it was done I looked closely and there were little bubbles all within the white part, they were so noticeable it looked like pepper was sprinkled on! And the white strips were way too wide for my small hands. It looked ridiculous.
The reason I give it one star is because I’m not that kind of customer to throw a fit, it made me really uncomfortable to ask her to fix those 3 nails. When the finished product was not to my liking I felt I couldn’t ask her to fix it without causing a scene. Not the type of establishment I will give my business to again.

It was such a cute vibe in here! I absolutely love the décor and how they have the nail palettes hanging on a fake tree. It adds to the cuteness for me. Referring to my pictures, I took off a star because she fell a bit short on some of my nails. Overall, Lynn did a nice job, but I would love to have Katherine work on my nails.
I was really iffy about trying another salon just because I haven’t found my «home» yet, but I absolutely think this will be my base salon. Katherine was more than welcoming to me and answered all the questions I had on the phone before I settled on going in to get my new set here. It’s easy to drive by, but the place itself is pretty big. I didn’t feel pressured or judged in this salon, which I LOVED. I always feel out of place at other salons, so being here was a breath of fresh air. The ladies inside also didn’t speak to each other obnoxiously in Vietnamese, because they really focused on interactions with their guests. Which I also LOVE.
4 stars for the nail job, I wish they were flawless.
But 5 stars for everything else, including customer service. Prices are average, but cheaper than most you can find out in San Diego. I will definitely be back.

The ladies here are absolutely fabulous. I have hopped around to so many different nail salons in the last 10 years and have finally found the BEST! They are super sweet and friendly. I feel so comfortable and totally trust them with my sensitive hands and feet! I always feel like they listen and don’t do ANYTHING without asking which is so important to me. If you come here, you will leave feeling so pampered with beautiful nails!!!

I’ve been getting shellac for a couple years now and this place hands down (pun intended) does the best job I’ve ever seen.
In the past Shellac manicures I’ve had will last at the most a week and a half to two weeks before they start chipping and I get impatient and start tearing them off myself damaging my nails.
At Cindys the gel manicure lasts minimum 2 weeks with no chips.
I usually wait 3 to 4 weeks in between visits and besides growing out the still look good.
The girls in there are super friendly.

First let me say that I’ve never had acrylics last long enough for me to get fills done. Not only did Katherine do a wonderful job on my initial set, but she took care of my fills (3 weeks later) equally as wonderful. All the ladies here are friendly and Katherine is extremely knowledgeable and she really knows what she’s doing. I still cant believe how well my nails have held up. Thats a sign of a job well done! I recommend them to everyone and I will most certainly be a regular customer here.

I had never experience this type of customer service. I have alot of Unilocal reviews on past photos of my nails proven fact that my skin around my nails never been broken and my hands to look beautifully moisturize; B.S. about the weather, you had broken my skin by filing my nail bed (caught in a lie there, prove!).
No one in this industry had ever placed acrylic power over real nails when finished turns hand to tell their clients I am going to clean them, actually starts to drill away real nail.
When I realized you had did that and ask if my nail was still there you said no, i thought you knew, that is the moment energy shifted from you and I felt embarrassed and didnt know what to do you had elimited my real nail after having them for 2 years. You are not professional and make decisions on your own without consulting with clients.
You and your business sucks, Just look at yourself trying to justify your mistakes and blame me and the weather for your sucky work, your absurd.
Respect is giving at the moment a customer walks inside of a business, employees earning respect by providing excellent customer service.
You have no saying on any other matters in my personal life nor past experiences posted on my Unilocal,since you where not there or had to deal with any of my past experiences; just with the horrible experience you had giving me at the day of my visit and now.

This place is awesome !! I came to get s French tip and got my Seahawks colors. The staff was very nice and did an excellent job !!

Today was my first visit to Cindy’s and I loved it. I grew up with a close friend whose mom did my nails all my life, once I moved to San Diego I had a difficult time finding somewhere that was up to my ridiculously high standards. i had a place I liked for awhile, but the last couple times I went it just was horrible, so i was in the market for a new place, again.
I found Cindy Nails after reading pages and pages of Unilocal reviews and realizing it was super close to wear I live. I decided to give it a try and get a full set with gel color for my birthday. While I was there I spontaneously decided to get my toes done to. Lynn worked on my nails and Paula worked on my pedicure. They were both so friendly, and considerate. Lynn checked with me multiple times regarding the shaping and length of my nails and Paula did a beautiful design on my big toe and gave a great massage.
The best part is, the price is very affordable. I got a full set, gel color, and accent nails, a spa pedicure, and a toe nail design for just over $ 50. WHICH IS A STEAL. Considering most times I’ve gotten a full set with gel and such I was paying nearly 50 for that alone.
I am thoroughly impressed and will be back again and again.

First time being here and I am highly impressed. The staff here are so professional and nice! The prices are extremely affordable and the atmosphere is so calming and relaxing! Defiantly coming here again!

First time at Cindys nails. Have always driven by the shop but always hesitate to go, saw recent reviews with new management and decided to give it a try since I was in need of a fill.
A++ !! Not sure what shop was like before to compare but shop was very clean and cute! All appliances look like newest in nail salons.
Lynn immediately greeted me and did an AMAZING job on my nails. I love perfectionists especially when it comes to French designs and I would say she did perfect job. Total cost $ 29 fill, shellac, French design. Gave Lynn $ 10 tip cuz she took care of me and made sure I left with some good looking nails! Def coming back!

This is the first time in years that I was completely happy with my nails. I have tried every nail salon in Mission Valley, and this place is far the the best!
The new owners are dedicated, and working hard to reestablish the client base.
Recommend this place! The pedicures are the best!
