History

Established in 2009.

We created what is now Chocolat with the help of the Chocolat owner in the Gaslamp District in downtown San Diego. With many ingredients being imported directly from Italy, we knew that the locals of Hillcrest would love what we have to offer and officially opened our doors in December of 2009.

Meet the Business Owner

Ken B.

Business Owner

With a desire to open a restaurant here in San Diego, Ken partnered with Alessandro Minutella, Chocolat Gaslamp’s owner, to build what is now Chocolat Hillcrest. Alessandro, a native of Italy, grew up in the restaurant business and has had many successful restaurants on the East Coast as well as in San Diego.
