Charles Lewis III Memorial Park

This is a small park that got recently added to the neighborhood. Its fantastic that they built one here especially because this neighborhood is dog friendly.
They have a children’s play ground, basketball courts, picnic area and a dog park. The bad side is its very near to the street but the good side is that its fenced to keep street separate. Im mostly going to concentrate on the dog park because that where i mainly go.
Dog park consist of mostly dirt and no grass. However it is still pretty easy for dogs to run around without stressing their paws. I have two Siberian Husky that loves to run there. The dog park is clean and Im very grateful that everyone picks up after their dogs. There’s also a water fountain that accommodate small and large dogs. The marvelous thing about this park is that they are open even after sunset. It is well lit area at night so no worries about not being able to see anything. Another plus side are the cute wild bunnies that you see play at night.
Parking is street parking and can be very easy or hectic depending on when you go. I go at night so I never have problems finding parking.

I’m only going to review the dog park. Didn’t get to walk over to the human park. This park isn’t that big but it’s perfect for small-​medium dogs. There isn’t any shade so if you’re there on a sunny day, probably good idea to bring a hat and wear sun block! There are plenty of benches to sit at while you watch your dog roam free.
It’s also not the busiest dog park. There are doggie bags if your dog makes an accident. And there’s a drinking fountain for you or your pup. Also this park consists of only dirt. So probably try to avoid it the day after it rains unless you want your dog to track mud in your car.

A nice park for the local residents living on/​near Home Ave. But with the exception that THERE ARE NO SOAP DISPENSERS AND/​OR HAND SANITIZERS!!! THIS PARK HAS A PLAYGROUND FOR KIDS AND THE PARK DEVELOPERS FORGOT TO INCLUDE STATIONS FOR CLEANING ONE’S HANDS AFTER TOUCHING THEIR GENITALS?! Might as well say «WELCOME TO THE PLACE WHERE GERMS CAN COME AND PLAY!»

Nice for someone ro leave their dogs messes/​droppings x3 & their Burger King trash in the dog park area

(+) restrooms with capacity for 2 men and 2 woman

(+) covered picnic area with tables to seat roughly 18 persons
(+)(+) there are tao fire pits possibly for grilling or just to heat up the area.
(+) grassy area for kids to run/​play
(+) kids play area with two Jungle Gyms (that’s what they were called when I was a kid)
(+) dirt area for dogs to run around/​play
(+)(+) includes pet waste bags and a garbage can
(+) garbage cans are located throughout the park
BIG DISADVANTAGE TO THIS PARK:
(-)(-)(-)(-) THERE ARE NO SOAP DISPENSERS OR HAND SANITIZERS LOCATED IN THE RESTROOM FACILITIES!!!
So kids and adults can go the to bathroom and roam around the park without washing their hands?!!
For parents that bring their own kids here please watch them carefully as other persons here at the park are most likely not washing their hands at the bathroom, and then they touch the kids play area/​equipment.
PLEASE GET SOAP DISPENSERS AND/​OR HAND SANITIZERS INSTALLED HERE PLEASE! GROSS!

San Diego newest dog park. Really impressed with this park and how well it is maintained. Area for dogs is pretty large; plenty of room to run around. Thoughtful placement of trees, large rocks and benches. Nice path from dog park past basketball half court, picnic benches, and playground for kids.

What a great and needed addition to this neighborhood! This area of the community had been lacking access to a nice park. I love how dog friendly this park is designed. It has a gated area for your dog to run around. There is a playground, basketball court, picnic area and BBQ grill.
They engineer this pretty wisely, they installed special drainage to keep more trash and sediment from getting into the watershed and storm drains. There is only street parking but I’m not complaining.
