Dr. Chan fixed my broken eye. He is a pro! On Saturday I was in excruciating pain after taking my contact out. I tried to tough it out but the acute pain became unbearable. Dr. Chan was about to leave the office but once hearing that this was an emergency he kindly offered to stay and wait for me to be driven to his office. He took one look at me and knew right away what was wrong. He gave me a drop of anesthetic which immediately stopped the pain and allowed me to open my eye for examination. Just as he suspected, I had somehow torn the top layer of my cornea off. With 35 years of expertise Dr. Chan was able to treat my eye. He gave me confidence that my eye would heal 100% if I did exactly as he prescribed. He gave me clear instructions every step of the way as he was treating me, he was sympathetic with my pain, and he gave me easy to follow instructions for care afterwards.
It is now 5 days from my emergency visit with Dr. Chan. I went for a follow up visit and I am happy to report that my eye is completely healed. Today, I also did a full examination with Dr. Chan to get my prescription for contact lenses renewed and I was really impressed with Dr. Chan’s desire to explain to me in depth about my vision needs. He took the time to explain many things to me and I really appreciated this level of care from him. He made logical and great explanations for his recommendations. I understood everything that he explained and had more than full confidence in his expertise.

Dr Chan, in my opinion, is the BEST Ophthalmologist in San Diego! He has taken care of my entire family’s vision needs for as long as I can remember. He has taken care of cataract eye problems for both my mom & dad as well as eyeglass prescriptions, he’s performed PRK laser surgery on my wife, LASIK surgery on my brother, he’s performed a corneal transplant for me as well. He’s always been very nice, professional, and available for all our family’s vision needs. His office is conveniently located in the Kearny Mesa area, centrally located for those in the greater San Diego area.
