I want to start by saying the dentist and hygienist were friendly and knowledgeable. They have technology that I haven’t seen that was useful. Even though there was a misunderstanding with price, they were very helpful on getting it taken care.

I would give Dr. Safar 5 stars, as she is kind, patient, and really good at what she does. I rate the billing/​front office 1 star as I have had several experiences (just like those of other raters) that have been quoted one thing, and then charged something else, and upsold to the 3 visits per year, and talked into doing this deep cleaning that they said my insurance company would cover, but then later said I owed $ 150 for the procedure. I paid reluctantly, and just haven’t gone back.
I will say that my husband also gave them a try, and was quoted a lot of work, which most of was also recommended by another dentist (which gives them some credibility, in my opinion), however we still chose to take our business elsewhere.

The name of the business speaks for itself. If you want quality work, quality material and quality dentist care; you have come to the right place! If you are concerned about an itemized list of pricing or on a budget; this is NOT the right place for you. The best analogy is like ordering a quality steak from Mr. A’s, but expecting the price you pay at Sizzler. It does not compare! So, why the 3 stars. The dentist (Dr. Safar) is fantastic and she cares about your WHOLE body health and not just what is in your mouth (Star 1)! The work that is done on your teeth is great and the dentist chairs are more comfy than my recliner (Star 2)! The atmosphere is relaxing and very spa like (Star 3)! So, why not give it 5 stars. One star taken away for lack of transparency when it comes to pricing! (like the other reviews, Vicky is sweet, but not always upfront). Second star is taken away for scheduling procedures that might be able to be done in one or two visits or forms of treatment that might be necessary, but not «required»! Both of these lost stars come in to play when you are on a budget!
Recap: If you want the best dentist; you get what you pay for! And, if you are on a budget, this is not the place for you. Find a dentist in your network. Hope this helps!

I saw Dr. Safar for the first time this past week. I had to switch dentists since the one I was seeing before is now about 40 mins from my house. Her office is close by since I live in Mira Mesa now which is great for the convenience. Her staff is super friendly and very informative. I see these other bad reviews talking about her «conning» them into buying product they don’t need but I’m absolutely sure she didn’t hold a gun to my head to make me purchase the mouth wash I bought. If you didn’t feel you needed it, why buy it? You can say no lol anyways, I usually have extreme anxiety when it comes to the dentist but they are all extremely professional and personable which helps to put you at ease. I had just needed a cleaning, and my teeth feel great. I’ll be back for my next cleaning in about 6 months, thanks again ladies! :)

We gave this place a lot of chances (both my husband and I have been going there for 3 years now) and I am usually quite loyal… but I just can’t with this place anymore. Over the course of our time there, they have conned us into buying expensive mouthwash, expensive toothpaste, some weird laser thing that we don’t need, BOTH my husband and I were just DESPERATELY in need of expensive mouth guards that we’ve never heard from any other dentist ever. my husband hates his and doesn’t even wear it now… they convinced me that I was going to need extra appointments every 3 months instead of 6, that they THEN informed me weren’t going to be covered by my insurance… and like another reviewer said, when you question the bill they send, they just like… wheel and deal. The front desk person is extremely friendly, but will say things like «Oh, you can’t afford the $ 600? Alright, we’ll knock off an extra $ 300 for you.» Who runs a medical office like that?!
Also, my husband is the most patient, wonderful man in the world, but got SO irritated with one of the hygienists, that he secretly asked after his appointment to never have her again… they sent a card apologizing which was nice, but then gave him that same woman on the next appointment.
We will be taking our business elsewhere, where they hopefully are more up front with their prices, and are interested more in my dental health than their bottom line.

This office only cares about the $ they can get out of you. When they told me I needed 2 procedures done, I could only afford one of them. I asked the finance person/​office manager to ask the dentist which of the 2 were the most necessary. She assured me she’d speak with the doc and call me back on Monday. It’s going on Thursday and absolutely no follow up!
It was also very off putting that they went ahead and changed the time of my appointment without even asking me– literally left a voicemail telling it would be an hour EARLIER than I had scheduled, which is very inconvenient with a busy work day.
I’ve never had such a bad experience at a medical professional like this. I’m giving 2 stars because the hygienist and dentist were fine– but their staff running the office needs some serious changes– especially when it comes to customer service and professionalism.
Don’t waste your time or your $. You’re probably better off going to the other dentist that’s down the hall.

Honestly I enjoy going to see Dr. Safar and the wonderful staff. My treatment started last month with a pain free deep cleaning from Sneha. She was super nice and professional. I am one of those patients that has a low pain tolerance and she made me feel at ease and comfortable throughout the procedure.
When I first contacted Dr. Safar’s office, I spoke on the phone with Victoria. I told her about how scared I was of dental procedures and the specific plan I wanted for my teeth restoration. She was awesome to say the least! We talked for awhile and I knew that this office was the place for me. Vicky is so friendly and makes you feel welcome every time!
I look forward to my next appointment (I can’t believe I am saying that about the dentist hahahaha) because my smile is going to be amazing after they are done!!!

WORST EVER!!! Her dental hygienist was really great, but you can definitely find that again somewhere else.
Now for WHY NOT GO THERE…
1. They push for things you don’t need… SHADY!
2. The front desk will do her «ninja» magic (YES, SHE CALLS IT THAT!) to get you the best (seemingly illegal) coverage for your dental work, yet, she asks you for a co-pay…a co-​pay that’s over $ 300!!! Then you come in again the next day because they say they don’t want to overwhelm you with so much in one day, and then they ask for another «co-​pay» of over $ 300!!! At this point, I told her that I don’t have that right now, so then she immediately says, «ok, then how about $ 150?»…What? Are we getting dental services at a garage sale??? FIrst of all, I have NEVER paid a co-​pay of over $ 30 in my life! The ones I have paid for are medical, never dental. Now they want to charge me over $ 600 because breaking it up into two days would be best for me by paying double their ridiculous «co-​pay?»
This situation was so shady… a scam… just bad, bad business!!!
3. Back to the bill… they never disclosed any kind of breakdown before they did services, which I have always had. We looked it up in the midst of this fiasco and found out that they aren’t supposed to do a thing without discussing it, and having the adult responsible sign off and receive a copy… illegal? They just stick you with a huge bill at the end and say that they’re still «working on the billing with the insurance company.»
4. We spent over 2 months trying to figure this situation out, and we still never got a true break down of the bill.
5…oh, and by the way, in the end, without the «co-​pays» they tried to collect over $ 2000 from us! Again, having had dental insurance all my adulthood, I have NEVER had a bill… my insurance has always covered it ALL… cleanings and fillings!
6. We have since moved to different dentists. a pediatric for the kids, and a regular one for us… NOT ONE BILL YET!!! NOT EVEN ONE CO-​PAY!!! Hmmm… our insurance hasn’t changed, so I wonder how that happened!
In the end, Dr. Safar is a nice woman, but nice isn’t what any consumer is looking for!!! Consumers want honest and fair business that provides excellent services. No matter how fancy shmancy it looks with her goodies in the front, this was not worth the hassle. I NEVER in my life have had to leave a dentist in a bad way, but this is it! Although I’d love to blame everything on the front staff because Dr. Safar seemed like a nice person, this is HER business, and there is NO WAY that she doesn’t know this is happening. We spent over 2 months trying to figure this out, making numerous calls to the office as well as emails, and we did NOT ONCE get any correspondence from Dr. Safar, which tells me that all is NOT RIGHT! If I had a business and an employee was doing shady things that I DIDN’T know about, the first thing I’d do is call the patient directly. Wonder why she never contacted us?
Shame on Celebrity Smile Spa!!! If you wanna get duped… go for it! No great cleaning is worth being cheated! I’m still shaking my head at this whole situation. Can’t believe all of this happened!!!

Always good practice for a dentist to disclose pricing before working on a patient.
Also would be nice to see any authorization form for doing work to a patient.
BEWARE. They will do the work and charge you later. Feel so duped coming here and lost a huge portion of my FSA account because they failed to disclose any pricing. Dr. Safar is knowledgeable but needs to know what is happening at the front desk situation.

Celebrity Smile is a very good find. I came into a 7 am appointment for cleaning and checkup as I am a new patient. I was greeted by Dr. Safar and the wonderful coffee, water, and snack bar. I loved the fact that they had early appointment availabilities so that I can go directly to work after without iterrupting my work day.
The office is a very nice setup — does not look like your typical dental office. It was very comfortable and inviting. It actually reminded me alot like going to a spa to get pampered.
The Dental Hygienist was very friendly and informative. I dislike going to the dentist and have had many horror stories so I shared them with her and she was very nice to explain each procedure that was being done and was very gentle. She spent extra time on my teeth with removing the plaque build-​up while still maintaining gentle care. They also do the laser on your gums at this dental office which is neat technology and served its pupose exactly as the dental hygienist explained it.
After the x-​rays and cleaning, I met with Dr. Safar who went into further detail with what her concerns were (if any) with my teeth. She was very informative and kind.
I don’t typically say this about ANY dental offices — but I had a great time and a great experience with Celebrity Smiles. I was very well taken care of. I highly recommend it.

First thing I noticed when I walked in: Keurig coffee machine and a plate of chocolate.
That’s how they get you to come back… full of cavities :)
No, I’m joking! Honestly, the atmosphere was very welcoming. It smelt delicious in there too; like Bath & Body Works. Candles were lit… very nice ambiance.
I was welcomed by the receptionist, «Hi, are you Paige?» Why yes I am!
Everyone was super friendly. Dr. Safar herself is gorgeous and so nice. She was very helpful and informative; explained everything so I could understand and didn’t use any unfamiliar terminology.
They have movie glasses you can wear while you’re getting work done on your teeth. You literally pick what you want to watch on Netflix and watch it while they’re doin’ their thang!
I’ll definitively will be returning. I felt like I’ve been going there for years!
