Very good steaks. Very reasonable prices. Excellent wine selection also at very reasonable prices. Also has very busy bar with good live music on some nights.

Definately Old School Steakhouse. Always great service with the perfect timing for serving the dishes. We never had a bad steak or prime rib dinner in the years we have been coming. Give the place a face lift to bring it into the 21st century and it would get 5 stars. But maybe that is why the prices are reasonable. Try it, you cant go wrong.

Never have gotten a bad meal at Carvers. I always get the Filet mignon w/baked potatoe and it is wonderful. Service is good and prices are reasonable also. Definitely recommend giving this place a try! I noticed they have early dinner specials too!

This place is top notch! We frequent this restaurant about 6 times a year. It is our family’s special occasion go to. The steaks cannot be beat. Yes, we eat at Ruth’s Chris and Mortons 1 – 2 times a year, and these steaks are just as good, and a better price! The manager Dave is always friendly to customers, especially to the regulars he recognizes.(There appear to be a lot of regulars). The service is good too. We have our favorite server Nancy who is wonderful and even remembers what we like to order. I always highly recommend this place to people for a good steak dinner. There menu also serves, fish, ribs, prime rib, etc.

We came to celebrate a birthday. I had the market fresh fish, halibut with artichoke, capers and tomatoes with garden vegetables and side of asparagus. This meal was enjoyable. My husband had Wiskeypepper steak medium done, with au grautian potatoes. He really enjoyed his meal. However my in laws ordered each a rack of lamb. They ate a small portion but complained that the meat was tough to chew and the rack was too large. They were highly dissapointed. However the manager took both meals off the bill. Our waiter Kevin was very nice and personable. They also gave my mother in law a birthday bread pudding. This was very nice along with rhe comped meals made up for the tough lamb. Thank you. My only complaint was with the carpet. It was dirty, worn and smelled a bit. Overall, it was a nice experience. Thank you.

Food and service are solid but they have let the facility get run down. Outside looks like it has been boarded up. Just needs a good paint job And cleaning. makes it appear third tier please invest a little back in the property!

As my husband said: «This is probably the best steak I have ever had.» He is right! He had the Chicago cut rib-eye. I had the Filet! The only comment that could be made was that there was a bit too much garlic is the garlic mashed potatoes, but 1. Who complains about Garlic? And 2. We were there for steak. Our waiter Ryan was awesome and very attentive! Service was great! All around, these out of towners are happy with their dinner choice!

My fiancé and I decided we wanted to celebrate our pre-wedding dinner alone before family members start arriving. We were both in the mood for good steaks and saw great reviews at this place and decided to make reservation through Open Table. We’ve never been here before and the first impression I got from this place has an old feel to it. We were immediately greeted by a really friendly hostess. Within 1 min, we were seated. After they seated us, the waiter greeted us. Got our drinks order and the manager came up and greeted us with his hello’s. He also mentioned how excited he was for us to dine with them for the very first time. He took noticed from the open table that we were getting marry and he made sure to make us feel right at home. He brought us calamari on the house and it was really delicious. I couldn’t decide whether to get the ribeye or the rack of lamb. The manager told me they are known for their rack of lamb so I order that. Let me tell you, I have never been a fan of lamb in general. I find it very gamy, but for whatever reason. It was just calling my name. OMG, the rack of lamb is so GOOD. The base sauce they use, it compliments the lamb well. I am drooling as I am thinking about the lamb. We do plan to come back! The food and the services were both excellent!

We went to the $ 14.00 Tuesday night deal. The tender filet mignon was just the right size and seasoned nicely. We also got the $ 14.00 bottle of wine which was surprisingly good. The restaurant is sorta hard to find in the shopping center, it’s behind the Von’s grocery store(yep, you have to want to find Carver’s!). Now we know where people are eating on Tuesdays!

I was looking for a restaurant in the Poway area that had pork chop and Carvers came up. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is romantic. The food is superb! You must try the pork chop and peppercorn strip steak! For dessert try the brownie mud pie! Carvers is now my favorite local restaurant.

Went there with my business associates, 7 people total. The menu had a good selection of meat and fish so I ordered the Halibut which was one of the most expensive items. Our meals arrived and the fish was overcooked and rubbery also covered with a quarter inch of creamy sauce definitely out of a can. I scraped the sauce off, seasoned the fish and tried to eat it but no way, it was in my mind dog food. I ate a third of the fish and the busboy took the rest for the trash. Waitress never came back during the meal to ask how it was. It was a business dinner so I wasn’t in a position to send it back just smiled to my work mates and grabbed dinner at a fast food place on the way to the hotel.

Awesome happy hour! $ 2.50 Bud Lights and ½ off call drinks. The Cajun lamb chops are incredible. The beef sliders and fries are also very good. Ryan the bartender, takes great care of you! Tuesday is $ 13 Prime Rib or Petite Filet night. Add a bottle of their house wine for another $ 13.

Being close to the house I so wanted this place to be our new go to steakhouse, and no luck! Way over priced food that is some of the worst steak I have had in a long time. Over cooked, badly seasoned, and did not even taste fresh.

Ah, our place for special occasions, and we always have a few each year! Beautiful place, private parking, and just walking into the restaurant you know it is going to be a great night. We always make reservations for our favorite booth, so that we can have a romantic, and more intimate special meal. We used to order a bottle of wine with dinner, but have started getting a glass of white and then a glass of red to go with dinner. We start with the Ahi appetizer, which is very good. Then onto the 11 oz Filet Mignon, with a side of bernaise sauce. Then time for dessert. The bread that is served with dinner is excellent, and the service is top notch. Always leave room for dessert! After visiting Ruth Chris and Flemings — this is our favorite romantic dinner spot! Just got back from Carvers for a nice Friday Lunch. Our waiter was Fredo, and he made our experience fantastic. The filet mignon was probably the best we’ve ever had! This is now a favorite lunch place!

The food was good. However, we could not get over the musty smell which ruined our appetite. The atmosphere was outdated, dark, and smelled a bit like a nursing home. It has the potential to be a top rated restaurant with some remodeling and renovation.

We were greeted immediately upon entry and taken to our seats. First impression walking in was a quiet cozy upscale cabin themed steak house. Dark lighting for a romantic mood. The server introduced himself and opened our wine that we had brought soon after we sat. He was very friendly, professional, and informative. He knew the menu and informed us of the specials. Some of the best service at this steak house. Our steaks were full of flavor and so tender. Some of the best steak I have ever tasted. This place could not have been any better. I would recommend this to any steak lover.

Never been and friends of ours asked to meet here for dinner, as one of them is a meat and potatoes kinda guy. Feels and looks like a steak and ale chain on the inside. Tablecloths and real napkins. Ample parking. Dark inside. Pretty amazing MEAT menu. Some of the apps looked interesting but too much food so… I had the wedge salad. Not on par with Legal Seafood, who has the best one I’ve ever had… But pretty good. It had blue cheese dressing which I wasn’t used to: usually it’s blue cheese crumbles and a vinaigrette. Enter the amazing maple glazed pork chop. It was fat, juicy and full of flavor. I ate the whole thing! Only comment is a little salty. Garlic mashed pretty good. Had an odd lemon soufflé like thing for dessert that wasn’t sweet, very light. Service was okay. She forgot one thing… I will come back for special occasions. And will bring meat eaters here.

Came here for lunch for their $ 14 special lunch deal. I chose the ribeye over the prime rib… Portion was very small, but I guess a 6oz ribeye for $ 14 is a good deal. The prime rib is a bit bigger so if you’re looking for something filling, get the prime rib instead. My ribeye was slightly on the medium side(ordered it medium-rare), but it was still juicy. Service was very slow but they seemed understaffed. The entrance smells like dust. I’d come back on Tuesday. As for other days… probably not worth the money.

$ 14 Prime Ribs or Filet Mignon Tuesdays only!!! This might just be the best kept secret in RB. Came here for lunch, made a reservation beforehand, but it seems like they still had quite some tables open. Service is okay, the waiter was busy running around most of the tables. I loved their bread! The portion is a little small, but it is definitely still worth the price. I’d say the filet I got was between 6−8oz. It was cooked perfectly medium rare, which I was really happy about. Meat quality was great. Mashed potato was very garlicy, YUM! Side veggie was some kind of string beans that seemed to be frozen before… Anyway, will be back if I crave steaks on Tuesdays at work!

Excellent steak house with excellent service! The location is a bit off to the side of the center that they’re a part of. The sign doesn’t stick out, and the exterior of the restaurant doesn’t look like much. Don’t let that fool you though! This is an excellent place to get a steak, and treat people from visiting from out of town with fancy dining.

Place has a nice ambience and Rancho Bernardo feel. Went for a business lunch and ordered crab cakes for apps… pretty good with the mayo mustard sauce. Had the New York Strip chefs way. Came back medium with some pink. Very flavorful and even the vegetables came back very well steamed and good seasoning. Ordered crème brûlée which was ok. I would go again!

OutFRICKINstanding. I had the Chicago Cut Ribeye, and it was FLAVORTOWN, baby. — BAM! — All the people were great, too. I can’t remember their names, but girls… young enough to be asking to borrow my keys so they could go study at their friends’ houses… and for me to say, «NO! Clean your room!!» But they’ve been taught well… they knew how to make me feel like I was the only patron in a place that was paaaaaacked. I lie. Her name was Lesa, and she’s great. The steak is absolutely memorable. Worth every penny. :-)

They have a special on Tuesdays… choice of 6 oz. prime rib, filet mignon, chicken or salmon for $ 14.00. The parking lot IS small, but it is adjacent to a Vons shopping center, and you have many choices. Walking is quick and easy. The entry area could be a dead doppleganger for the Brigantine Escondido. Open and big enough to allow perhaps 40 people to wait. We sat in the bar, didn’t want to run the risk of screaming kids. The tables were quite wobbly. They do have a few booths, but they were occupied. Bar seating is first come, first served. The vibe is happy old people(60’s and up)…happy, buzzed old people, which I found welcoming and rather charming… but LOUD!!!(and really, cavernously dark) The Happy Hour menu is extensive, and from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, beer, wine and cocktails are 50% off. That puts it at the top of my Happy Hour destination spread. We shared a wedge salad, and damn it was a great wedge salad! Good size quarter wedge of iceberg, sharp bleu cheese, onion, tomato and a healthy shot of bacon. Would eat this again in a minute. I got the filet, ordered it medium, it came out medium rare, decent sized portion of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans sauteed with onion. Everything tasted awesome, really the meal was superb. What was not superb, was that while the bar staff was super friendly, and working their asses off, the bar guy missed my wife’s request for water, and we had to share my club soda… it’s okay, but this is on management… if you know the joint is going to be hoppin’…add a staff member. The bill was an amazingly low $ 54.00 including 3 drinks(2 cocktails, 1 cabernet) before tip. I’ll go back for sure, plan on becoming a regular here, but part of being a Unilocaler is pointing out the shortcomings as well as the superlatives. If I could give 3.5 stars, I would, but in this case, had to round down.

Yum! I was a lil confused when coming here. I thought it was in the same center as the Vons, but it’s actually in the back, next to an assisted living facility. It’s nice that they have their own parking lot though. We got here right when dinner opened(5pm) on a Tuesday and was able to enjoy their Tuesday special! $ 14 for a prime rib, filet mignon, salmon or chicken. We ordered the prime rib and the filet mignon, both made medium rare and it was perfect. The meat basically melted in your mouth. It also comes with some steamed veggies and garlic mash, which were both good too. We also had the crab stuffed mushrooms. They were OK, not really worth the price. Our waiter suggested we have the mushrooms come out the same time as the complimentary bread so we can dip the bread in the mushroom sauce. What a great suggestion! It was delicious. I loved the bread. It was the perfect crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. Their house cab was good too and very smooth. It was a generous pour for $ 6. Service was quick, attentive and pleasant. Would def be coming back.

Good location Private parking We went on a wed night & it wasn’t busy Food came out fast Service was great Food was pretty good. Wine– i ordered the syrah by glass 7.00 its the only syrah u can get by the glass. Pretty smooth my boyfriend even liked it. Calamari– very fresh, served with fried onions and red bell pepper seasoned well. Cajun shrimp linguini — probably wouldn’t get this again just because it has a very sweet taste to it & im not used to that in pastas. I was going for a salty spicy savory taste. Bill came out to 50.00 so it was a bit pricey but that with our service & how romantically lit the restaurant was i enjoyed myself as did my date.

Do not be alarmed when you walk into this restaurant and realize that 90% of the customers are senior citizens. The food is great! haha Carver’s offers a special deal on Tuesdays: $ 13 for either a 4oz filet mignon, prime rib, or salmon(with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans). I opted for the FILETMIGNON. For $ 13, this piece of steak was super juicy, tender, and well-seasoned(I did not need steak sauce but you can ask for some). I was a wee bit hesitant on ordering my steak medium-rare since it’s so cheap. but I was not disappointed! The mashed potatoes were nicely seasoned with garlic salt; same goes for the green beans. This 4oz steak may be too small for some guys, but it was perfect serving size for me. I did not feel like exploding as I usually do after eating at a steakhouse. Another special available on Tuesdays is a bottle of wine for $ 13– what a steal! We got a couple bottles of the cabernet sauvignon for the four of us. I was expecting some cheap two-buck-chuck wine, but was pleasantly surprised at the light and fruity flavor. We had the Gooey Brownie a la Mode for dessert. The brownie was indeed warm and gooey. Topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. What better way to end a steak dinner without breaking the bank.
