Our dedicated mastering room features choice analog compressors and EQs. We combine high-​end analog mastering gear from Manley, Foote, Chandler Ltd and SPL with excellent digital plug-​ins, reference grade conversion, and Barefoot mastering monitors in an acoustically accurate room.

Business Owner

Mastering engineer Colin Ritchie, originally from San Diego, took over the role of mastering engineer at Capricorn Mastering in 2014. He’s lived at breathed professional audio for 15+ years, has worked with countless artists, cut his teeth at The Record Plant and toured with his bands The Idyllists and Emperors Club. He also holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara, has designed the analog and digital microphones for MXL, and continues to design professional audio electronics. He welcomes attended mastering sessions in the downtown San Diego studio!
