I, like many others, get anxious about going to a new doctor. I was nervous about the wait time, the way Dr. Buechner would treat me and the overall experience. I was able to get an appointment the same week I called. I filled out routine paperwork and waited only 5 minutes. Being a new patient, Dr. Buechner sat down and talked with me about my medical history before doing the yearly exam. She was so warm, friendly, genuine and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable the entire time. Although Hillcrest parking can be tricky, I didn’t have difficulties finding parking either. Her office is organized and her staff is helpful. I only hope that I didn’t just go on a good day. I highly recommend Dr. Buechner, and I look forward to seeing her again when necessary.

I am sad to be giving Dr. Buechner a 2 star review, because I like her personality and feel that she is caring and warm. However, during my pregnancy (which was my first pregnancy) she was not very proactive… thank goodness I educated myself about how to handle my pregnancy because she was not forthcoming about many important things. For example, she never reviewed what I should not eat during pregnancy, what I should not be doing, etc. and it bothered me that the only way I could get this type of important information is if I asked «20 Questions» during each visit. Sometimes her answers to my questions were very short, as if I was supposed to already know the answers, and she didn’t elaborate unless I asked her. This lack of proactivity is causing me to find a new OB/​GYN.
Also I had some complications during my pregnancy that caused me to go see a specialty doctor, and there were some important files that were supposed to be transferred between the other doctor’s office and Dr. Buechner’s office and there was a lot of confusion about it… and Dr. B didn’t seem to care or take it very seriously, even though my baby’s well being (and life!) during and after delivery could depend on this transfer of files and information.
There were just a lot of small important details that I was never told by her. Such as, after having my baby, I had no idea that I could not get my period during the entire time I was breastfeeding… when I asked Dr. B about getting my period she said I would get it on schedule once I was on birth control again. Totally untrue! And of course I got worried when it didn’t come right on schedule, like she told me it would.
Lastly, their office is OLD and kind of gross. The lack of modern equipment should have alerted me first thing. They cannot do ultrasounds in their office, etc. so I was all over the place all the time getting blood samples taken, ultrasounds done, etc. I would have been much more convenient if some of those things could have been done in her office.

I love Dr. Beuchner. She is extremely friendly, knowledgeable and caring. I have been her patient for about 6 years. It has always been a pleasant visit everytime i see her. I do feel bad for anyone that has had an opposite experience than me. I can only speak from my own experience.

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Buechner. She refused to see me when I was in labor for over 45 hours with contractions 5 minutes or less the entire time. It was not only rude but also dangerous.

I feel strange writing a review of my gynecologist on Unilocal,but she is fabulous, relaxed, and was wonderful during both of my pregnancies. She and Dr. Riley are an amazing team of doctors and I recommend them without hesitation.
