The service is always wonderful. The staff is extremely knowledgable. The naturopathic view of dentistry is great. A lot of people don’t realize how much ones health is affected by dental issues. Once those are cleaned up the whole body feels great.

I had flat out the best dental experience of my life (by far) with Dr.
Vinograd. I’ve always been terrified of the dentist, and he took the
time to help talk me through everything that would happen in detail,
as well as what might be contributing to my fears, before starting any
dentistry (he told me that from the start which helped calm me down as
well). I’m sure they saw how shaky I was, and the girls at the front
desk were also very kind, and came back to check on me several times.
Once we had agreed to a plan, Dr. V used some magnets and
aromatherapy. I’ve never been one for those kind of things, but they
did seem to help ease my anxiety a bit as well.
We did a cleaning, took impressions, and that was it for the first
visit. I’m so impressed he was willing to spend an entire appointment
just doing little things to put me at ease, and taking time to make a
second appointment to get started with everything else. The second
appointment I came in much more at ease, and am happy to report that
the entire process of getting 2 bridges was not only painless, but
completely changed the way I feel about going to the dentist.
My teeth look stunning (I will admit to still staring at them in the
mirror on occasion), better than they ever did before all my dental
issues. Dr. Vinograd and his staff deserve all the great reviews on
here, and maybe the one or two naysayers should give them a second
chance. after all, all the rest of us can’t be wrong!

Save your time and money go some place else this dentist is a washed up hack. Went in for a cleaning and complained of pain in one of my molars and also along my gum line where my gums had started to recede. Well he worked on 6 teeth in less then an hour he had his arm wrapped around my head and was using it as leverage he poked me in the eye with his equipment more then once. He also did a block on a single tooth but drilled on two teeth on that side and the two teeth were not right next to each other. The next day was still in pain he had actually done nothing to address the issue of the receding gums. When I went back a week later he poked at the teeth where the gums had receded and of course it’s going to hurt and he then told me I needed to have 6 crowns done. A WEEK LATER!!! He did not look at my x-​rays do a bite test tap on the tooth or anything. Just told me I needed 6 crowns.
Now for the second opinion no I did not need 6 crowns he needed to do fillings where the gums had receded that would of been an option… not doing fillings and starting out with crowns would of been an option and the last option to treat the issue of the pain would have been to do a soft tissue transplant. Now the main complaint of pain was the receding gums he knew I would still be in pain because he did not address the issue. He was trying to maximize profit. Also there was only one tooth that he worked on that was free from decay the other 5 teeth have decay that needs to be filled. The issue now is that if I have the teeth correctly worked on I will not have insurance coverage due to frequency issues when in reality it’s the hack dentist doing a piss poor job.
He decided to refund my insurance for 4 of the teeth since I lied and agreed to crowns I know I didn’t need. After the insurance was refunded and I asked well why isn’t my patient portion be refunded because the office staff said the 200 that I paid would go towards the crowns but when it comes to actually just paying me back for the incomplete work they did, of course it’s a no go and red tape. But they would gladly apply my money towards 6 crowns.
Oh and my records yeah they don’t have them can’t find them etc supposedly his wife broke her wrist looking for my records but they still haven’t released them to mean and it’s been months.

I was looking for a bio-​dentist/​holistic dentist that would take care of some leaky amalgamas I have had for over 20-​some years. I did a typical google search to see what I could find around the S. D area. There were a few good hits that came up, but Brighton dental was the closest holistic dentistry office around the area. I read all the reviews for Brighton dental and Dr. Vinograd and thought I would be in good hands. Unfortunately for me, my dental work experience here was a bust.
The office personnel as well as Dr. Vinograd are lovely people. By far the greatest customer service I have received in any dental office! That is why I am giving them 3 stars. However, I was completely disappointed with his work. He filled an open cavity were an amalgama had fallen and removed an old amalgama filling and replaced with a new porcelain crown. After the work I had to come back in because of the severe discomfort I was having every time I chewed on the side of the crown. When I went back Dr. V he did his best to help out but I think he made matters worse. I told him that not only did I have discomfort in the crown while biting, but that my bite now felt uneven. He proceeded to try and give me a perfect bite again by filing down the top molar that was aligned with the crown. I remember sitting in that chair thinking what the #$% is he doing?! So once he filed down that side of course he had to do the other side top molar… long story short… 5 months later my bite still feels uneven and I still have discomfort in the crown when chewing– my chewing doesn’t feel natural at all! :(
The worst of it is that I paid for this procedure out of pocket $ 1,200(I have HMO dental, not covered by Brighton dental) and I am one unhappy camper. Makes me think if I could have gotten this quality work in T. J for a fraction of the cost :((

I could not say enough good things about Brighton Dental, Dr. Vinograd, and all the staff! I have never ever had such an incredible dental experience. First of all, their holistic philosophy is hard to come by and very highly respected. They care about their patients overall health, not JUST their dental health. That’s how ALL medical practices should be! Their office is beautiful, warm, and welcoming. The dental hygienist I had was so sweet, but most importantly, thorough, communicative, and very gentle. Dr. Vinograd was incredibly sweet too, what a great guy! I will for sure be using this dental office from now on, no exceptions!

Excellent dentist! I had a major root canal issue due to a former dentist putting a crown on that was too big. I was in horrific pain. Brighton made an appointment right away and took care of the problem. My wife and I have both had overall great experiences with the dentists, assistants and administrative staff. Everyone is so helpful and genuinely positive natured people. The office uses an auto email program to confirm my appointments right into my Outlook calendar which is convenient. They offer
lines of credit if you have unexpected work done that you did not budget for which is nice, just pay it off in a few months or a year and it doesn’t eat into your cash flow. I would highly recommend Brighton Dental to anyone that lives in the area.

Great holistic doctor, the staff and Dr. Daniel are very friendly, patient and kind. I was looking for a kind dentist for my toddler, after meeting everyone yesterday at our first consultation I have decided that all of my family members will become a patient and I will tell clients and friends about this great team of professionals.

I had an excellent first consultation with Dr. Vinograd and will change to him now that my old dentist has retired. I greatly appreciate his holistic approach, his manner, his deep listening, and his friendly and seemingly competent staff. I look forward to have him as my dentist from here onwards.

Dr. Vinograd at Brighton Dental is the best dentist I’ve ever been to. Like many who have posted reviews for Brighton Dental, I hadn’t been to a dentist in well over a decade. Some deteriorating back molars prompted me to seek a dental consultation. The great reviews prompted me to a tiny strip mall a few miles past Qualcomm stadium. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover though!
Check-​in was easy. I later found out that my dental insurance, MetLife (which was covered by B.D.), covers 80% of restorative work. Dr Vinograd even commented how most insurances cover 50%. The inside of the practice is very nice and modern and relaxing. I was led back to an area with 6(?) dentist’s chairs. After the dental hygienist/​technician got my settled in one of the chairs, Dr. V introduced himself. He could tell I was extremely nervous/​anxious and asked me what I wanted done. I told him about my back molars and he took a look. One back molar on the right side needed to be pulled and two molars, one on each side, needed root canals. The one on the right needed to be built up after the root canal to prepare that side for a bridge. The one on the left would need a crown after the root canal.
Since my insurance is capped at $ 2,000 per year, they suggested I get the root canals done, the build up on the right done, the crown on the left and the rotting tooth pulled and fitted with a temporary bridge put in all this year while doing the permanent bridge next year. Dr. V explained how any time you experience pain, to simply raise your hand and they’ll stop and numb you up more. He said they are not trying to hurt their patients and that I’m in control. He was very assuring and you could tell he wasn’t just saying that, but that he actually meant it. He did the root canal and build up of the tooth on the right side that day. I only felt pain once or twice and they immediately stopped and numbed me up more each time. Once the numbing went away after the procedure, I was in no pain whatsoever. Dr. V is also great at explaining each procedure and at helping calm you down during the actual procedure.
I went in today for final impressions for crowns on left side (when doing root canal on left, they found out an old root canal/​crown right next to one they were working on was rotted away to almost nothing) and they greeted me by name as I walked in! I was pretty impressed.
Everyone who works there are really nice. Would definitely recommend Brighton Dental to anyone who has severe cases of dental phobia.

In as much I am not typically not fond of dental appointments, this was by far the best dental experience I have ever ecnountered. The entire staff, the bedside manner, the clear explanations of treatment and options, the professionalism and their compassion was refreshingly amazing. I love their holistic approach and mostly I truly felt like they really do care. There is a reason that they have such great reviews — because it’s all true!

Excellent. I found Brighton Dental on Unilocal.He was really down to earth and friendly. I would highly recommend him to anyone. The Dr. does the best dental work. He has a very good manner about him and makes me feel like I am in good hands. I have confidence in his abilities, enough so, that I do not have that anxious, nervous, or thinking to myself; «oh, my God this is going to be excruciatingly painful.» Which it never is. That is beyond a major a relief. I am typically fearful of most dentists. Think about it. You are in a chair, bright lights in your face and a guy/​girl is rooting around in you mouth, with some sharp metal objects. I do not feel that way in Dr. Vinograd’s office. I feel actually relaxed. He is a holistic dentist and I think that may have a lot to do with my experiences at his office. Never nervous and never afraid. Dr. Vinograd, doesn’t charge an arm and a leg, either.
That is why Dr. Vinograd is my dentist.

I haven’t been to a denstist in almost 10 years, and I was a little nervous going in, but the experience was amazing!
As a yoga teacher I appreciate their holistic approach, recommendation of essential oils and preventative maintenance. I thought the cleaning would be brutal having been so long but it was relatively painless and the hygenist was really nice and thoughtful.
I saw Dr. Bri and she was really upfront about the pros /​cons to treatment, what was necessary vs. recommended. I’ve found my dental home =)

This is my 2^nd service from Dr. Breeann, she has a very truthful warm personalty. She is very informative on exactly what she will be doing, and takes her time, like Dr. Vinograd. And she is A NO HURT with the using the pressure points system when using the needle like Dr. Vinograd. What a Magnificent team to be taking care of me in the Dentist chair at all times. Dr. Breeann also was very reassuring for my best safety
concerns regarding a filling that was not done correctly in the past.

His bedside manner; his wide experience and depth of knowledge; his use of the latest techniques; his clear explanation of the pros and cons of every aspect of your dental care, treatment, and future prognosis; his treatment of your teeth — not in isolation — but in the CONTEXT of your overall health; his near painlesss (in my case it truly was painless) dental work, and as an added bonus — he has a warm, charming, caring personality, and must sincerely care about his patients as he personally calls to follow up on you! CRAZY!
Thanks to my wonderfully soft-​enameled, crooked teeth, I have been visiting dentists since I was a kid. Given my rich experience with dentists and dental work, I tend to get obsessive compulsive when it comes to vetting out good doctors. Following two root canals, my one root canal predictably I guess got infected due to a chipped crown. I found Dr. Vinograd by searching online for holistic dentists — ie someone who would think twice before plugging my face with obsolete poisonous materials that would eventually lead to more dental complications and work and/​or worse — related health issues.
His reviews were very good, so I decided to call and make an appointment. They got me in on his LUNCH HOUR out of consideration for the pain that I was in!
Dr. Vinograd’s extremely thorough and detailed consultation was free. We went one tooth at a time, talked about different techniques, materials, pros and cons. I left the office having gained a world of information about teeth in general, and my mouth in particular, that no dentist in the past has cared to share with me. No pressure, no hard sell, no sleaze. Just information.
I went in that following Saturday morning, family in tow, to get my crown removed, my molar extracted and Biocon implant placed. The procedure was painless — obviously because of the numbing injections, but the injections themselves were painless due to the doctor’s expertise. The actual extraction, however, was TOUGH (my teeth are extremely stubborn) and through it all Dr. Vinograd and his expert assistant (more skilled than most others that I have had the distinct displeasure of encountering) kept their calm, cool, and Dr. Vinograd hummed a tune, patting my shoulder from time to time to make sure I was okay. I was fine — but felt really terrible for all the trouble they were having to go through in wrestling with a decayed tooth on a Saturday morning.
Tooth out, build up in (calcium based — none of the bone graft, cadaver nonsense), small efficient implant in, dental «band aid» on, and I was good to go.
Two days later, Dr. Vinograd personally called to make sure I was still okay. I am.
I am sold. The proof is in the pudding. And I am sharing this pudding with friends and family. I will be bringing my three and six year old to Dr. Vinograd. He is fantastic and I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon his practice.
By the way — given that I do nothing without researching the heck out of it, I went to three dental practices for this tooth before coming to Dr. Vinograd. I received various complicated and convoluted opinions of how the treatment should proceed — from working with a «team of dentists» for this tooth, to undergoing general anaesthesia for a bone graft. My word of advice would be to do your research and find the least complicated procedure and the most skilled and experienced dentist to work with you. Dr. Vinograd is a very well-​respected, well-​educated, internationally known, highly skilled and experienced dentist. His consultations are free, so you owe it to yourself to go to him and learn about your options.
The office has a great vibe and everybody who works there seems happy. That counts towards a great overall experience.

Dr. Vinograd has been my dentist for several years, leading me on a journey to repair my dental health after years of some neglect. His patience, demeanor and compassion highlight why I trust him. The fact that he’s a brilliant dentist is almost secondary but still has to be mentioned.
I just had a minor surgery with Dr. Vinograd and as usual, he is an artist with numbing the mouth and doing the entire procedure causing me no pain. He talked me through the entire process reminding that what was in my head was worse than the reality — sure enough I was able to relax and let him do his magic.
The staff is friendly, the location easy to get to and office clean. I recommend anyone use Brighton Dental and Dr. Vinograd.
