I had the broasted chicken. It was 4 pieces of dark meat for $ 7.95. It was great! The skin was crunchy while the meat was nice and juicy. This is one of my top 5 places for fried chicken. I’m bummed they are closing. They are going to reopen as a different restaurant but they won’t have any more broasted chicken.

Nice establishment. Good wait staff. Food was par. Nothing spectacular. It is the best place to eat at that mall. The bread bites are only good fresh out of the oven. Give it a shot out of sheer curiosity.

I have boycotted this place for four years because I ordered the chicken all white mean and it was so dry, I asked if I could change it for the dark meat but the manager said since I took a bite out of it he cannot exchange it I mean how does one know if it is going to be dry unless they try it??? So after four year of boycotting this place I decided to give it another chance and once again I was not happy! Don’t plan on going back again.

This place is called Bread Bites & Moore. Moore is the owner’s last name. Double connotation? Very clever! So whadda want for nothing? A rubber biscuit? No you gotta get the bread bites of course! They’re golden buttery, garlicky bites of deliciousness rolled into a ball about the size of a large doughnut hole. I’ve had the Pat & Oscars and Wings-N-Things breadsticks. I like these because I think they taste better then the aforementioned establishments. Oooh big fancy words, eh? You have to eat em while they’re hot, cuz they don’t reheat very well, kinda like eating re-heated french fries. No bueno! I had the Broasted chicken dinner with the ¼ white meat with the red garlic smashed potatoes and roasted fresh veggies and two bread bites. The chicken was a tad bid overdone which makes it a little dry, but I’ve had it before when it was nice and juicy and very flavorful, the garlic smashed potatoes were okay. I like mine a little bit more on the garlicky side and would like a little more buttery taste. The roasted fresh veggies were kinda soggy so will maybe get a salad next time. C’mon guys two bread bites? Really? How about 4 instead? I love those delicious garlicky, buttery balls of gooey goodness! I did ask the waiter for a couple of extra bread bites to go and he threw in three and didn’t charge me extra. Very nice. Extra star for that! I’ve only been here for the chicken and bread bites so I can’t tell you about the other food items. I kind of liked it better when you didn’t have the waiter service but I remember before they had the waiter service they would still come by and check if you needed any refills or napkins or just check on you. I would leave a tip back then because they did check on you. But things change all the time, eh? Until my next Unilocal post about the San Diego County Fair. Oooh Fair Food!

As long as I’ve continuously drove past this place… I had never beedn here. But, I finally stopped in to grab a bag of bread bites. I was invited to my professor’s house for some dinner. He said we could bring something. So, I frantically tried to think of what to bring. Cake? Sliced meats and cheese? Oh wait… he doesn’t eat meat! Ahhhh couldn’t decide. Then, I remembered Bread Bites. I asked the guy behind the counter if they sold bread. I mean, I knew they did… but when I first walked in, I couldn’t really tell what they sold. Anyway, he said they sold«bite» sized bread. I thought that was cute. So, I ordered a dozen. Think it was like $ 5 bucks or so. No one at my professor’s house commented on the bread. That doesn’t mean it’s not good. I think it just wasn’t amazing. But, it did the job. I think next time I’m headed to a potluck or something I might pick up another bag of bread bites.

I love sandwiches! Their chipotle chicken sandwich is pretty good. The chipotle aioli and seasoned chicken is really yummy. The bread was a little stale. The sandwich came with homemade potato chips that were tasty and crispy. They are also famous for their bread bites which are basically little buttery, garlic bread rolls. They taste similar to Pat & Oscars breadsticks. They have many other items on the menu such as pizzas and salads. I will most likely come back to try their other sandwiches.

Should be a 3(which isn’t bad) but because of the bread, I will say a 4. I do not frequent the place weekly however I’ve never really had a bad experience in the times that I have visited. As others have stated, the primary reason to come here is for their bread. Little 1″ diameter rolls covered in butter and what tastes like a hint of garlic salt. You cannot beat it! As for the meal itself, I have found the chicken to be very good and their salads to be delicious. We have often ordered bread bites and salad to take home and it really is a meal on it’s own. I have never tried their ribs and I know that they’ve expanded their menu to include burgers so one of these days I will have to give it a try and let you know.

Seriously surprised by all the bad reviews. Haters gonna hate, man! I’ve only ever been here for lunch, so I cannot comment on the service when they switch over to ‘full-service’ mode. However, the service during lunch is always phenomenal. They’re very polite, knowledgable, and prompt. As for the food, I would agree that the chicken by itself CAN be a bit dry. Makes for an awesome-tasting skin, IMO, but not much else. However, what this chicken DOES lend itself to is a great number of sandwiches, salads, and wraps. My personal favorite is the Half soup and sandwich deal with the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and a cup of Chicken Tortilla Soup. Yum! I also recommend anyhing that comes with their potato chips. They’re the thicker kind where you can really taste the potato and not just the salt. And, of course, the Bread Bites ARE the big thing. If you’ve noticed that P&O’s breadsticks aren’t quite the same as they used to be a few years back, I’m pretty sure it’s because these guys took the secret with them when they left. The prices are a bit high, but I don’t think you could get out of a Panera for much less, which is basically what this place most directly compares to. It’s also nowhere near as busy, a major plus when you’re trying to fit a nice meal in on a lunch break.

What is amazing about Bread Bites are the Bread Bites. The More part is actually rather tasteless and I’ll say it… nasty. I never thought chicken could be so royally screwed up, but they found a way. After 2 bites, I had to do away with my sandwich. So, basically I know(like Pat & Oscar’s) to just stick to the bread and all is good. And personally, the little balls of bread delight can take down Pat & Oscar’s bread sticks any day. What’s not often noted about Bread Bites is that they serve breakfast on the weekends. It’s never crowded here and what they do to their chicken, they obviously don’t do to their eggs — because these were quite good. They also make a breakfast version of their bread bites with all kinds of cinnamon-sugar goodness. Their coffee is served in a personal french press and is also very good(but they don’t have milk for it – so you have to do with creamer packets or sneak over to Peet’s next door). My kids are a big fan of their pancakes, which are actually oven baked and have more of a cake consistency. While the bread bites are sweet & carb-y enough for me, this is the item that has countless Carmel Valley kids craving this place. So to review… do breakfast, do the bread, but stay clear of anything else.

If you’re at a place called Bread Bites, you probably should order some bread bites. I fail. I did order the chicken caesar wrap. I liked that the chicken was flavorful — I think they used their«broasterie» chicken and I got lots of lettuce(I hate when people skimp on the veggies), but it wasn’t overflowing so much that I had a salad in my lap. The wheat wrap was a little chewy, but it probably worked to my benefit as I was able to conquer that thing without too much spillage. I ordered to go and it was ready in a snap. The seating area looked clean and they serve beer and wine so it seems like a nice, casual dine-in place as well.

We’ve eaten here several times over the years although the other day was the first time since we discovered Unilocal over a year ago. The place is about the same as I remembered it. Pretty standard American fare. We were absolutely starving and ordered a couple of sandwiches(roast turkey and a Greek wrap). Maybe it was our hunger state, but the sandwiches were really good. I particularly liked the Greek wrap, although it was exactly what you would imagine. A Greek salad within a wrap, but they did a great job with the filling to wrap ratio –leaning heavily to the former. The roast turkey was tasty but a bit heavy. The ciabatta bread it came on was great. The sandwiches came with home-made fresh potato chips. Not really my thing, but they were definitely the real deal. Our issue with this place? Not worth the buckaroos. For a standard sandwich and chips, you are shelling out $ 9.

The bread bites are DELICIOUS! I went with my mom, cousin and grandmother after a trip to the SD zoo. We got the ½ chicken plate with mash potatoes and rice, chipotle chicken sandwich with homemade potato chips, pizza and chinese chicken salad, and a chicken wrap(or something like that) with soup. Everything was really good except the sandwich. For some reason the bread was really hard(like it’s been sitting out or something). The chicken and the sauce that was inside the sandwich was really good though. The portions were really big; we had a lot of leftovers. It was really cheap as well. The four dinners was about $ 45 or $ 50. On our way out, we bought a bag of bread bites to go because they were SO delicious. If you are on a diet, don’t go here and eat because there is A LOT of butter and garlic on the bread bites, mash potatoes, and on the rice(but the butter is what makes it so good, right?)… The place closes at 8. We got there around 7:50 and it took them to serve the food and drinks. We felt bad though because we didn’t know it closed so early and we didn’t leave until 8:40. They didn’t say anything to us and if we would have known, we would have eaten faster! So sorry guys!

My family and I were regulars of this restaurant. We’d eat here at least once a week for a quick, convenient, and fairly inexpensive meal. If I’d had reviewed BB a few weeks ago, I would have given it 4 stars. However, we went there tonight and they changed their whole business model to a sit down restaurant! WTF? The fact that it was quick service was something that appealed to me. Plus, they didn’t change the format of the restaurant, so it was still set up for quick service. The menu was a little larger, but they changed standard combos and items that were always appealing. The sweet blond girl and the guy with buzzed brown hair are awesome. I’m glad they’re still there. But the girl who served us was not friendly at all(I think she was new). If I am at a sit down restaurant and if I’m expected to tip, I expect great, friendly service-which we did not receive from this waitress(who also messed up the amounts she charged our cards, BTW). The whole set up was just odd and awkward. It’s really unfortunate that they changed things. We will not be going back until they decide to go back to their roots. And I have a feeling a lot of other regulars will agree with me…

I have gone here many times over the last few years, since they opened. I have always thought the menu was limited, but it was a good place for a quick and casual dinner. The chicken is always good. We were quite surprised when we arrived there last Friday night, 3⁄5. They now seat you and offer(?) table service. No more quick ordering at the counter and getting your food quickly. Apparently they had just changed their format. What would have been a 30 minute maximum in and out visit turned into a 60+ minute visit plus being table service you are expected to tip! They DID expand the menu, a definite plus, but when I want a quick easy dinner I will now go somewhere else. They took the one good thing they had going for them and ruined it. I don’t think making it slower and more expensive is the thing to do in this economic climate.

I could *snuggle* with their cinnamon bread bites on the weekends. Like take those little things and cuddle w/em in bed. They’re SOOO good. If you heart anything cinnamon(cinnamon rolls, churros, ANYTHING w/cinn. sugar man!), try this place for breakfast Sat-Sun. I’ve been here a few times for lunch/dinner. Their garlic bites are great too — nice, fresh, warm, buttery, garlicky. Their ‘broasted’ chicken is tasty — it tastes like fried chicken but I guess it’s healthier in some way. Their salads are so-so. Friend had their hamburger once and said it wasn’t bad as well. For breakfast I ordered their Build your Own Omelette: «BUILDYOUROWN … Ham, bacon, italian sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, black olives, jalapeños and hot peppers» — $ 7.95. You can choose up 5 items(cheese counts as 1 item BTW) and it comes w/potatoes and 2 cinnamon bread bites. The first time i got the omelette i ordered it w/cheese. Didn’t like it that much w/the cheddar cheese. The 2nd time i ordered it w/o cheese and it was perfect. Even thou i got it to-go, the omelette was fresh, pipin HOT, and just plain yummy. They also use italian sausage — not plain ol’ Jimmy Dean yucko breakfast sausage. I don’t like breakfast potatoes so the first time i ordered the omelette, they threw in an extra bread bite to substitute for no potatoes. The 2nd time I went in there, they almost forgot my precious cinnamon bread bites altogether so the nice cashier girl threw in almost 6 bread bites! FYI — 1) bread bites aren’t good re-heated, you kinda have to eat em hot to really appreciate them and 2) if you ask them, they’ll let you sample a bread bite for free So i think it’s totally worth a try if you’re driving by the 56 fwy or live in the area

From the people that brought you Pat & Oscar’s comes Bread Bites and Moore. I came here one day on a recommendation from a friend and left pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is tucked away in the Albertson’s shopping center off Camino del Sur. I ended up ordering the Rosemary Chicken, which the warn you, takes 15 min to prepare. I really didn’t mind much because you definitely wanna make sure chicken is cooked properly haha. Upon first taste, I thought to myself, «Wow, this is some good stuff.» It was served with a side of salad and on some rice pilaf. Awesome. I also ended up grabbig a side of bread bites. The bread bites, IMO, taste way better than the breadsticks at Pat & Oscars — and that’s saying a lot. This is surely one place I’ll be going to again.

Love, love, LOVE Bread Bites. I work in Carmel Valley and we often take the 56 inland to enjoy lunch at Bread Bites. My favorite meal choice is the ½ sandwich plate. I always choose the Chipotle chicken sandwich with the tomatoe basil soup. You also get 3 bread bites with your meal that are just perfect for dipping into the yummy soup. I eat here probably once a month at the least and can honestly say I’ve never had bad food OR bad service here. Often when I go at lunch, the owner takes my order and delivers it to my table. This isn’t because he knows me or anything, but just because that’s the type of place this is; very casual, friendly and great food! I met my hubby there for lunch today and I noticed they also serve liquor now… so we’re definitely going to have to go there for dinner one of these days and enjoy a bottle of wine or a beer with our bread bites! I would recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a great sandwich, tasty chicken or a cheesy oven-baked pizza. Definitely a perfect spot for lunch!

This review would probably be three stars were it not for a bad experience and prices that I find to be a bit too steep. I enjoy the pizza meal that you can get with bread bites and a salad. I usually get the Caesar salad. It’s pretty good food, and very similar to Pat & Oscar’s. I once ordered a BBQ sandwich that was not good at all, but I liked the potato chips. Now for the bad experience. My sister is a vegetarian. We specifically asked about one of their soups and were assured that there was no meat in it. When she started eating it, we found cut up bacon in the soup. We told the same cashier and instead of apologizing, she simply asked if we wanted something else. An apology was definitely in order, and it was not received. My sister was very offended. I’ve since been back to the restaurant, but I don’t think she’ll ever be back.

At first glance, Bread Bites appears to be a generic, Pat & Oscars rip-off with a funky name. However, after trying most of the items on their menu over the course of several lunch breaks(there are no other appealing restaurants at Torrey Highlands Mall, and simply no other malls in vicinity of Canyon Crest Academy), I discovered a few gems that make it a truly wonderful quick-service restaurant: First off, I love their homemade potato chips. Best when freshly cooked,(so they’re nice and warm) the chips are lightly salted and have a great crunch you can’t get from any packaged bag of chips. These are a steal at $ 1 a bag. Second, Bread Bites offers great little sides like a tomato basil soup, roasted veggies, and roasted corn; all taste super-fresh and delicious. The corn comes with a liberal load of melted butter, making it that much tastier. Third, Bread Bites’ bread bites are the bomb. Imagine tiny bundles of garlicky, buttery delight that have a wonderful elasticity and soft texture. Bread bites beat Pat & Oscars breadsticks by far. Fourth, the rest of the menu(chicken, ribs, sandwiches, salads, pizza, etc.) is also great-fresh, high-quality, and delicious. Personally, I am not a fan of the broasterie chicken(I like my chicken skin juicy and glazed with sauce, not crispy and wrinkly!), but can appreciate its relative healthiness. Overall, Bread Bites is an oustanding, authentic restaurant in a mall flooded with quick-casual chains.
