I visited this office several years ago… I think he scams his way into practicing dentistry and has very little expert knowledge. He wrecked my mouth. If someone doesn’t have a specialist background they should refer out.

What makes Dr. Bowman a top notch dentist is the fact that he cares about improving your quality of life. Over the years I have been to lots of dentists in San Diego and overseas due to my love for sweets and lazy brushing habits so getting cavities drilled and filled were just a part of life until I came to Dr. Bowman and the unthinkable happened; after just a few visits I was off his chair for good and for a few years now I just wave at him as I go by to see his hygienist. He is a true professional, perfectionist and very gentle. If you want a dentist who cares about your health and wellbeing then go see Dr. Bowman. I would not be taking the time to write this if I wasn’t truly happy.

Dr. Bowman: awesome dentist, very nice and personable. I have to say that with all the dentists I’ve seen he is by far the best. It’s too bad that I now live in Seattle. He always tried talking to me while Im on the chair but again I have a bite block in my mouth and to be honest with you. I always fall asleep every visit. Hygienist: Very thorough. very nice.once again I always fall asleep. what can I say. it’s like being in a spa. only in my mouth. Assistant: Very sweet and friendly. we talk like we’ve known each other for a long time… always on top of things. Receptionist: Really nice and helpful. Sweet lady. Set’s up my appointments in the future, follows up with reminder post cards as well as phone calls. I love that… who remembers their appointment six months later?! Always nice to talk to. Dr. Bowman and staff. you’ve been great! I will truly miss you all. Thank you for all your services.

My experience with David Bowman’s office seemed to be a case of insurance abuse and an attempt to fill teeth that had no cavities. Like the other poster, they spent my first visit taking 18 x-rays. They then said I had 2 cavities and would not show me any evidence. I just got out of the military and 2 months earlier, my civilian dentists cleaned my teeth and said I had no cavities and 8 months earlier, my military dentist said I had no cavities. They charged my insurance the max for two separate visits: for x-rays and an examination although I was there for 15mins. All I really wanted was a cleaning which they said would have to be another visit… another chance for them to possibly bilk my insurance. They would also have to charge me for another visit to fill my «cavities.» So I felt they were ripping off my insurance(thus raising the cost for everyone’s insurance) and destroying the integrity of my teeth AND wasting a lot of my time. I had other friends who came here and left while in the waiting room because the derogatory way the staff was talking to each other about patients. Don’t let their lack of integrity threaten the integrity of your teeth.

I do not recommend DR. Bowman. When I saw him several years ago, he never showed me how many cavities I had on my x-rays(I thought all dentists did that) and drilled 8 cavities on my teeth without showing me where or what the cavities looked like on my x-rays. It was my mistake not to ask him to show me where the cavities were. I did get a refund because I found out afterwards he drilled on my wisdom tooth which I did inform him during the appointment I would surgically remove. If you do go see Dr. Bowman, be very vigilant and ask him to show you where your cavities are on your x-rays and ask him to identify clearly where he will be drilling and why.

Really nice and a great dentist. I’ve had several dentists since I’ve moved here and he is by far the best. And, if you have any sort of emergency, they will squeeze you in fast. Oh, and he has some really cute girls in the office :)
