Bobby S Korn MD

Dr. Korn was recommended highly by my primary care physician. I had droopy eyelids due to access skin and after the initial testing was and I qualified, to have surgery that would improve my vision. Dr. Bobby Korn is such a gentle doctor with a great bedside manner. He is so kind and patient and very thorough. He and his staff were excellent. I highly recommend him– He’s a doctor that’s a real gem!

I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Korn and everyone that I dealt with at the Shiley Eye Center — fantastic experience! I had been noticing that one of my eyelids was starting to look lower than the other so I originally went to Dr. Korn to find out about having my eyelid lifted.
As it turns out I had a condition called Silent Sinus Syndrome where my sinus never developed under one of my eyes and my eyeball was actually starting to sink down which not only was making one eyelid look droopy but also causing facial asymmetry. I needed surgery to build a sinus and also for an orbital implant to basically build up my eye that had been falling. I was nervous for this and met with Dr. Korn several times to go over what was going to be done. It would be a joint surgery with Dr. Korn for the implant and a head and neck surgeon, Dr. Husseman, for the sinus. He answered all of my questions and told me exactly what would happen and what to expect and put my mind at ease. I had a very successful surgery, both surgeons were excellent, and the follow up with Dr. Korn and his staff was exceptional.
The healing took a few months and I was amazed and how much better my eye was already looking now that it was level with my other eye. The last thing I needed was to have my eyelid now lifted since it had been falling to correct for the sinking eyeball. This part was a breeze and I opted to have it done with local anesthesia instead of going under general anesthesia. Dr. Korn and his staff were again excellent to work with and I was out of the office in about an hour. The healing time was a lot quicker and more mild for this and within about 3 weeks my eye looked perfect!
Every time I look in the mirror now I am so happy with how everything turned out and am so thankful for Dr. Korn taking the extra time to find out the real cause behind what was happening to my eyes. Not only is he an extremely skilled surgeon and doctor, he’s very personable too, which is so appreciated! My whole experience with Dr. Korn and the Shiley Eye Center were of the highest quality!

I had been to 5 doctors in 4 years seeking the removal of a cyst on my eyelid. It was close to my tear duct and no one wanted me as their patient. When I was sent to Dr. Korn I was treated with respect, dignity (I am a senior citizen) and knew I would be just fine real soon. He performed the surgery… I recovered rapidly… I had the tube keeping my tear duct working properly removed today. I will recommend this man and his #1 staff to anyone needing attention to an eye problem. Thank you Dr. Korn and staff for making me «all better».

Dr Bobby Korn has been one of the most caring doctors I have had. I have been going to UCSD Shiley Eye Center for Eye surgeries for Graves Thyroid Eye Disease.
My vision was threatened by an auto immune disease that has been very hard on my all round health. If it were not for the caring friendly staff I would be blind. The entire staff Doctors Nurses and everyone there made a huge difference in my care.
I recommend anyone in need of eye care to go to them. You will not find a better
place where the care is more like 10 stars. Thank You to all of the UCSD Shiley Eye Center Staff. You are simply the BEST.
