A complete con-​artist. He took advantage of my limited knowledge to over charge and then did such a poor job that it will actually cost me more money to reverse his mistakes. Matt Stanton is a smooth talker but should not be trusted under any circumstance.

My trailer blew on the 5 freeway, I called the number and he was there within an hour, helped fix the barring and axel on the spot, the next day after I got home safely he came over and made sure everything was how it should be! saved us a lot of money thinking we needed to buy a new one. Thank you guys so much! I couldn’t be more pleased.

If I could give «0.0» stars we would. This is the 2^nd time we used M. Stanton of BOAT AND TRAILER WERX OR THE TRAILER DOCTOR SD. The 1^st time was June 2014 which was a good and honest transaction (5 stars). This latest one, early August 2015 is the most dishonest transaction we have ever encountered. We paid him $ 828 upfront, on-​site via check in good faith for parts and labor. He never provided service since then, just gave us many creative excuses via texts. We had to get service elsewhere. He agreed to refund us in full. This never happened. He demanded via text we remove our first negative review and he’d agree to refund us (this was a week ago). We took down the review last Tuesday, now it’s Sunday and a refund never transpired. Please be WARNED, «Matt“hew will do and say anything to take your money and run. He is a bad person and doesn’t care about his customers. His business is not a business it’s a hoax and a scam. There is no valid business licence. We reported him to the authorities for our family’s safety and taking legal action both out of principle and to protect good people out there and to recover our loss in court. Allegedly, he has others suing him too for various reasons (all public recrod at SD courthouse). Please check all the warnings and reviews out there. They are real and legitimate. He advertises on craigslist under different business names. BE WARNED.

Listen to the warnings. He’s a scam artist and a fast talker. He got away with $ 900 for the cost of electrical tape and lots of grease (literally, he smeared grease all over our truck and said it was better). We were sitting on the side of the road 3 hours later with the same problems, and I have reached out to him and have had no response.

BUYER BEWARE!!! You will lose your money. This is the most dishonest operation I have ever dealt with on a service issue. I had a trailer that needed a new axle. He came out to repair it and charged me nearly $ 700 and wasnt even able to weld it. He blamed it on the equipment and had to take it to a third party welder. Each wheel bearing looks ENTIRELY different. He clearly ran out of parts and claimed they were free. Free– for one side only! What about the other side? He jerry rigged it as noted by subsequent boating specialists. The repaired part nearly fell off half way the very next day just from the weight of the boat without even driving it! Imagine if this went on the street! I couldn’t use my trailer then and I cant now! $ 700 later!
As the other reviewers said, he will look you in the eye and lie right in front of your face that he is always up in your area and will stop by anytime to help. He even said he would wait at least three days before cashing the check! The check was chased just moments after he left. Actions no different then a con artist. He wont even return a phone call. I have to go to court out of principle.
If he says otherwise, ask him you want to pay with credit card and listen to his response. Ask him that you want to meet him at his location and listen to his excuse. Ask him for credentials and listen to him talk about how long he has been in business. Ask him for his first and last name. Ask him for his business number and real address. See if he picks up the phone the first ring or is screening every complaint out there. There is a reason why he only takes check because you will never see him again. Be very careful!!!

If I could give them zero stars I would! We paid this company $ 450 dollars to detail out trailer. When they said it was done and we checked it, it looked like it was barely touched. The roof wasn’t even washed. I called to complain and was told he would send someone right out to fix it. They never sent anyone and now will not return our calls or texts. We will be filing with small claims court to get our money back. I have also filed a claim with BBB. Beware of this company!!!

I called and set up an appointment to have my trailer brakes bled and adjusted. I even agreed to meet them at the Shelter Island launch ramp so it would be more convenient for them instead of them driving to my home port. Well, they never showed up and I called them and texted them many times but to no avail. The only response I received was a text message that they were in a meeting but that was it. I traveled all the way there for nothing pulling my large boat which cost me a small fortune. Although they are nice when they talk to you on the phone, they are unreliable and their communication skills are sub standard. Good luck.

My trailer tongue was sagging so I called up Matt at Boat and Trailer Werx for some help. The next morning at 9am, Matt and Angel met me at my house, gave me an estimate estimate and towed my trailer back to their shop.
Matt said they could have the work done by 2pm, that didn’t seem possible since they were going to fabricate a whole new tongue, re-​wire, paint and test. Sure thing, Matt calls me up at 1pm, says they are on track and would meet me back at my house with the trailer completed.
Matt and Angel did a fantastic job, the trailer repair work looks great and will no doubt outlast the rest of the trailer. The price was fair and they guaranteed their work. Nice work guys and thanks for helping out.
