I left my phone at home & had to look up Blum & Clark’s number and was completely shocked by the two negative reviews. Our experience has been the complete opposite. We (my husband and I) came to Blum & Clark after working with a CPA that not only wasn’t very helpful, but actually was hurting us! We have been with B&C for almost 15 years and I can’ tell you enough how much they have helped us and saved us over the years (with solid advice, not «fear the audit «stuff). We started out with Richard (founder-​passed away) and currently work with Maria & Robert. They have been great! They aren’t just tax advisers to us, but more like trusted partners. They are long term (as are almost all of their staff), seasoned professionals and worth every penny we’ve paid. We consult them regularly on major decisions and would have been lost without their guidance, advice, and help not only in personal and professional tax planning, but also navigating state and federal government red tape in numerous situations. When we have questions or need help their response has always been timely and even proactive. In short, they have been life savers! We would give them more than 5 stars if we could.

I cannot recommend Blum & Clark for individual tax return preparation simply because their fees are too high. I was their client for several years, working with Derek M., who was a competent accountant and very easy to work with. But Blum & Clark’s fees continued to rise every year for what was basically the same tax return, and the second year in a row they billed me for over $ 1000.00 to prepare my taxes I had to pull the plug. I quickly found a different accountant who is a licensed CPA and who charges me around half of what Blum & Clark did with no annual increase in fees. If you’re considering using Blum & Clark to do your individual tax return preparation I advise you to shop around first.

I worked with an accountant at this group for over a year on my business taxes. Once my business closed I wasn’t able to afford their high fees and put the tax preparation on hold. Several years later when I tried to get my tax files from them they were unable to provide me with any version of an accessible file and the accountant I had worked with was gone and no longer reachable. Basically everything I spent with them was totally worthless and I had to redo all the business accounting from scratch.
