Blissful Mama Wellness specializes in Placenta Encapsulation and Doula Services. Placenta services include the Traditional Chinese Medicine inspired method (TCM), Raw Placenta Encapsulation, Placeneta Tincture, Placenta Salve and Placenta Smoothie. With every Placenta Encapsulation I also make two keepsakes for you to commemorate the special role this amazing organ played in your baby’s growth, development and birth… a Placenta print and a cord keepsake.

History

Established in 2015.

Blissful Mama Wellness was started in 2015 through my love and passion for helping new mamas. I really fell in love with Placenta Encapsulation after experiencing the amazing benefits myself following the birth of my daughter. More and more women are learning about and understanding the amazing benefits of their placenta, so I decided to enroll in a Placenta training mentorship to be able to offer this wonderful service to postpartum moms. Placenta encapsulation dates back thousands of years to China and the Far East, where it is considered a powerful healing and sacred medicine. In addition to Placenta Encapsulation I also offer Doula services… another thing I fell in love with after the birth of my daughter! So it was through my own love and experiences that Blissful Mama Wellness was born :)

Business Owner

I was born and raised in Boston and have been in San Diego for 12 years. I am a stay at home mom to a beautiful 3 year old girl. It was through my own experience with pregnancy and birth that I found a love for being a doula and helping new moms navigate their way through this crazy but exciting time! Learning the art of Placenta Encapsulation has been really exciting and has been another amazing way to help women through that postpartum period. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology from UMASS Boston, am a Reiki Practitioner, an Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor, Doula and Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. I work with essential oils and I love all things Health and Wellness!

Jenn is nothing short of amazing as a doula!
My birth progressed rapidly (way faster than I thought). Good thing I asked Jenn to come over. She immediately knew that it was time to go. When I got to the hospital, there was no time for anybody to read my birth plan and my regular doc was out of town! Jen helped me stay centered and practice some of the breathing techniques I had learned with hypnobirthing.
She supported me through dealing with hospital staff that had no clue I wanted a unmedicated birth or things like delayed cord clamping.
I could go on and on, but I will say this: Jenn strives for personal excellence in the work that she does. You certainly cannot find better!

My wife and I recently gave birth to our second child, a baby girl named Adlelade. Jenn helped us welcome her into the world and was with us every step of the way. For our first baby, Julian, we didn’t have a doula. It was just my wife and I in the delivery room. I tried my best to support her through the delivery, but with my limited knowledge and experience I felt that more could have been done to make her (and my) experience a much more pleasant one. Not shortly after that we were pregnant with number two, and Jenn was recommended to us from a mutual friend as a doula that could help us through the birthing process. Never have I been happier to have made the decision to work with someone than I was with Jenn. As a husband and a father that has gone through the delivery process with and without a doula, I cannot stress enough the value having a doula to help you along the way. And of all the doulas we could have had, we found the best one. Jenn helped my wife feel supported in a way that I never could have. Through that support and knowledge, she helped my wife with a beautiful labor, delivery, and postpartum. I don’t think we could have done it without her. Fathers to be, I promise you, you want this, you need this, do yourself a huge favor and reach out to Jenn for that doula support. It will be the best decision you will make for your partner and new family.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Jenn was referred to my husband and I through another doula. From our first meeting all the way through to our postpartum visits, Jenn’s warm, caring and calming personality put us at ease. As first time parents, we had a lot of questions and we were very nervous about what might happen during the birth of our child. Jenn was not only able to answer our questions, but she went a step further by providing us additional links and resources for us to read through, so that we’d feel more prepared when making decisions about our birth plan. Additionally, she taught us several different breathing and massage techniques and provided meditation materials for me to use in the weeks leading up to the birth. Jenn’s passion for being a doula and her desire for others to have the same incredible birth experience as she did shines through in every interaction with her.
Jenn was wonderfully supportive before and after the birth of our child (unfortunately, I ended up having an unplanned c-​section), visiting us in the hospital and coming to our house to check in and provide more advice and information on breastfeeding and postpartum depression. Not having family close by during this time was really difficult, but Jenn somehow made it easier for us to manage. It’s hard to put into words exactly how much she helped us, but I know we will definitely be contacting her if/​when I get pregnant again.
