Specialties

Welcome to Barum Jiu-Jitsu San Diego, an association of the powerful BJJ Revolution Team. Barum Jiu-Jitsu San Diego teaches under the great Carlson Gracie. We proudly provide techniques and training programs that are fun, professional, and rewarding.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is not based on strength. It uses opponent’s strength and force against themselves. The key is balance (known as base) and leverage. Typical positions include the «guard», the «mount» and the «side-mount».

A number of attacks can be made, ranging from chokes, arm-bars, and joint locks. The majority of real fights end up grappling on the ground. Knowledge of ground fighting is essential, not just for a complete martial arts background, but also for self defense. No other martial art addresses ground fighting as effectively as Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
