B and B Auto Repair

This was my first experience with the shop. I needed an emergency fix on my vehicle because it was overheating. Even with a full bay of cars, they were able to help me out and fix my car quickly and efficiently. The price was very reasonable and the staff seems very knowledgable and friendly. I’ll definitely be back to fix the other problems with my car.

I only go to these guys! They are very honest and helpful! Rather then trying to sell me they gave me suggestions that were very helpful. I TRUST all the people here. Great family business. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!

B & B is great… they were half the price of what the dealer wanted to charge me for Rear Breaks and CVC Boot replacement on my 4Runner. Been here twice and haven’t been disappointed! Family owned and operated and just really nice people. Call ahead and make sure they can fit you in.

Mechanics make me nervous! They know everything about the inner workings of cars while I know just about nothing… at least nothing that’s helpful when something is broken. I used to be computer tech (an honest one), so I know my ignorance can potentially make me and anyone like me a prime target. Back on topic…
My wifes car had an annoying problem with a broken ‘Passlock’ security system. Basically, a broken passlock means that about 5% of the time when you go to start your car, you instead have to sit in it for 10 minutes while passlock resets… and it can happen multiple times in a row.
Got some hot food? Trying to beat the commute rush home? No, you’re taking a mandatory 10 minute siesta!
I called 4 mechanics before I called B&B:
–2 of them didn’t know what passlock was and referred me to my dealer
–1 quoted me $ 700 with the caveat that there’s no way to ‘fix it for sure’
–1 was very nice, but sounded scared of the job and referred me to B&B
B&B ‘fixed it for sure’ for $ 85…that’s 12% of the only quote I could actually get! It took them 3 hours to complete the job and they were cool people.
That was back on 8÷25÷15 and the car has been starting like a champ ever since. I would definitely recommend their services if you’re still looking.

This was my second time having service done to my 2011 Honda Pilot by B and B Auto Repair. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt it necessary. Integrity and Excellence are the two words I would use to describe this shop. It’s so refreshing to know honest mechanics still exist. They serviced my Pilot in a timely manner, as well as kept the costs more than reasonable. I just had a front and rear brake service done and my Pilot now brakes better than it did when it was brand new. The front office manager is also very friendly and competent. Great service from start to finish!

This shop exceed my expectations on first several contacts, a very nice introduction.
Ken took time to educate me on issues of the new used car I brought to them for the «once over,» and the shop itself and the phone scheduler were very accommodating.
Their hours arent the best (not expansive), but the upside of that is it made me feel like they take care of their «outside» lives, and treat each other right rather than running the staff/​owners into the ground.

Hands down this is the best shop is San Diego. It is family owned by father and son and they are the best in the business. I was referred here by a friend and am so thankful I was. This in the only place I refer family and friends. The owners are so nice, they will take the time to explain their recommendations and all the work they perform and do not pressure their clients. THE MOST HONEST SHOP YOU WILL FIND. They are very busy because they are so good.
I have a 66 mustang that was built by their motor guy. B & B did the install and all the adjustments, new exhaust, custom throttle linkage, head work, and much more. I could not be happier with their work. The shop next door rebuilt my C4 transmission and did a wonderful job. I recently had the top end of my girlfriend’s 2000 Honda civic rebuilt here. They did the head work, new head gasket, water pump, timing chain, all new hoses. distributor, plugs, and more The work ended up being half the cost of what Hontech quoted me.
I cannot say enough good things about this shop. If you have a vintage vehicle this is the place to take it. Every time I visit I see very high end vintage cars being worked on here. Rare to find a shop that is equally proficient at vintage and modern vehicles.
This is the only place I will take my vehicles. Thanks for being such a great shop!

I’ve been coming here for years. It’s family owned and operated, the prices are reasonable, and they are nice people. I trust that they will do a good job every time. Just make sure you call ahead of time to avoid being sent away.

There’s a reason why these folks have been in business for over 30 years. Justin and the crew at B and B are the absolute BEST. Very TRUSTHWORTHY, and HONEST, which is hard to come by for a lot of mechanics. My wife and I had to get the head gasket, timing belt and water pump for our Subaru Outback replaced, and Justin and his team had the most affordable price compared with two other local, reputable shops. Additionally, Justin kept in open and constant communication with me about the repair and made sure to touch base with me about any concerns or questions before performing any additional work. He even went beyond the requested repair and replaced the fan belts and spark plugs at no additional labor charge because he saw they were on their way out as well as looked into a reoccurring check engine light issue. Lastly, he exemplified his concern for our vehicle’s well-​being by notifying us to come back after 500 miles to re-​check the repair and make sure everything was good to go; most shops will fix your car and send you on your way without even a wave.
Definitely coming back to B and B and would recommend to anyone and everyone.

We just took our Subaru Outback there to get some work done. This was by far the greatest experience I’ve ever had with an auto repair place! Justin was so helpful and honest– he replaced our head gasket for a very reasonable price, and did a few other repairs, he even did a few things for no cost that we didn’t ask him to do– like change our oil. My husband and I are definitely going back to them from here on out!!! Thanks guys!!!

I have taken two of my vehicles in for different things. They rebuilt the carb on my f250, among other things. They did a lot of work on my 2006 CTS-​V and I am extremely happy with the work they did on both vehicles. I have always done my own work, but since I no longer have the time, I will always go back here. Everyone has always been honest up-​front.

I’ve taken my car here twice so far. Both times I felt welcomed, made comfortable and felt right away that everyone there is honest and wasn’t trying to con me into any work I didn’t need on my car — which I have felt at other car repair shops.
I would easily recommend B&B to my closest family and friends.

I had taken my Jeep Grand Cherokee to two dealerships in San Diego. Both told me that my rotors were warped and had to be reconditioned and that my brake pads were at 30% and needed to be replaced. They quoted close to $ 400 to do the job.
I was then given the name of B and B Auto Repair with high recommendation. I called them and spoke to Stefano who was polite, helpful, and very informative and was able to offer a price less than half of that of the dealerships.
B & B was able to accommodate my schedule since I live far from the shop. I left the car and received a call from them promptly indicating that my brakes definitely DID NOT need to be replaced at this time as there was definitely way more than 30 percent remaining on the pads. While they indicated that the rotors could be reconditioned, they suggested I wait until the pads need to actually be replaced.
I met with the owner Kim and his son, Justin when I picked up the car and thanked them for their HONEST assessment. It is nice to find a shop which values its customers and is honest about repairs not needing to be done.
I will DEFINITELY be taking my Jeep to B & B in the future no matter how far the drive. I highly recommend this shop.

My tow truck driver recommended this place, after we were treated like crap by AIWA Auto Repair on Fairmount… B&B was booked but took the time to fix my truck and I had it back by noon. Dropped it off at 830 AM. they even offered me a ride back home after I dropped it off… They will get my business from this point forward. were more concerned with only fixing the problem and not charging me extra for anything that would prolong my grief of being without a car and costing me more money.

These guys are a bunch of crooks!
I brought my Dodge truck there when the engine blew. I didn’t know anything about them, but they were in my neighborhood and my regular mechanic recommended them because he couldn’t do the job.
Big mistake! These guys did not clean the radiator when they had it out, so my truck ran hot afterwards. (They said I refused the radiator cleaning). Also, they said, that my truck would have no problem passing the smog inspection, and if it did, just bring it back. Well, the truck did not pass smog inspection! I brought it back and they blew me off. I had to go to a smog referee. My truck vibrated a great deal after they worked on it.
Also, I heard the owner use racial and ethnic slurs when no one else was around.
This business should be avoided.

Honest and highly competent. I fully trust B&B. As long as I live in San Diego, I won’t take my car anywhere else.

When I am living north of the 94, I go here. Call ahead and see what their flow is like. Usually, they are hella busy.
The mechanics are honest and capable. Jared breaks everything down and tells the truth.
