ADCC Super Fight World Champ 2015, ADCC Super Fight World Champ 2013, ADCC World Champ –88KG and, ADCC World Champ Absolute 2011. He was also awarded the best fight and best fighter by the ADCC Commission along with being awarded best grappler of the year/​2011 by OTM. Along with his 8 World Jiu Jitsu Championships titles and his current grappling championships, Andre Galvao is considered to be one of the top 5 Jiu Jitsu fighters of all time. In 2008 Galvao joined his friends to form a new Jiu Jitsu team calling their team «Atos» — meaning «acts», a direct reference to «The Book of Acts», which is the fifth book of the new testament because of their strong evangelic background. The team has had tremendous success in the upper belt divisions and is considered one of the top 3 teams in the world. Apart from being such a success in the Jiu Jitsu community Professor Andre has also ventured off to become a best selling author with his «Drill to Win, 12 month to better brazilian Jiu Jitsu.»

Well this review is long overdo. From the day I first tried a class with Professor Andre just to «see if it works?» To over a year later after training with some of the most amazingly patience people (OSSS Professor Leo) I changed belts. You could not get a better more supportive group of people who are committed to see your life change through an art. Whether you are a serious competitor, or just a loan officer looking to learn from the best. There Is no other place to train and push Your limits. thank you to everyone at Atos.

I can’t say enough good things about Atos. I’ve been training here for a year and it only gets better every day. Professors Andre, Leo, And Liera are outstanding! All of the instructors are respectful and they focus equally on all students. The training and education is the best around and all the students have great attitudes and they love the sport. I always look forward to training and I’ve never had a bad experience since I’ve been training g at Atos. I highly recommend Atos to anyone from the first timer to the most experienced. You won’t go wrong by training at Atos! I look forward to seeing you on the mats!

If you are a serious BJJ competitor you don’t need this review because you probably already train here. This school is the toughest training I’ve ever done. Any given class you will have multiple BJJ World Champions on the mat from blue belt to black belt and in all different weight classes. The school is run by one of the most decorated athletes in the BJJ game today, Andre Galvao. Not only do I admire this man’s dedication to his team and his craft, but also his faith. Atos has only been around for a few years, but has already made its claim as one one the best teams in BJJ. The schedule is packed with opportunities to train throughout the day no matter what your schedule might be. Atos also has the most successful kids programs out there. Period! This school is a bit expensive and the parking situation can be a bit of a nightmare at times, but nowhere else in SD will you be surrounded by so many World Champions in a quality training facility. I hope to see you on the mats. Oss!

This is one of the top three Jiu-​Jitsu schools in San Diego imo. It’s one of the few places a purple+ will be looking. I’ve been to the gym twice. Andre is a nice guy, students are top-​notch. The main drawback, out of the 20+ JJ gyms i’ve been to, this is the most expensive. University of JJ is the 2nd most expensive, and also one of the top three in SD. So it’s great train, but you’re going to have to pay for it. It’s outside of my budget, but you know what they say, you get what you pay for.

Amazing gym! Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The gym is clean and welcoming to all. I came in February for the 30 day free trial. I fell in love with the place so I ended up signing up for two years. If you’re serious about improving your jujitsu game, this is the place!

Talk about a great workout and environment for my kid. Adult classes are also action packed and full of solid instruction. My 6 year old loves it. The professors are all kind and tentative. Especially professor Mike. He is so fun to watch teach the classes. The kids love him. He almost motivates me enough to get out there on the Matt. I highly recommend Atos. Great staff. They are all kind and tentative to all levels and ages. Take advantage of the free trial classes. You can’t beat that!!!

I can’t say enough about how awesome this academy is!!! My kids have been training at Atos for almost a year and I have to say that atos is not just a gym, it’s a family! My kids are training in the kids classes and when looking for a BJJ academy it was very important for me as a parent to have my kids first knowledge of BJJ be a pleasant experience. We have received that and MUCH MORE. The professors are not only top competitors internationally but they remain humble enough genuinely desire to teach the kids to be not just good in technique but in life. In addition to top-​notch professional training in BJJ, they teach how to be good people on and off the mat. The team takes the time teach the kids to honor their professors, team and their competition. The facility at atos is very clean which was also VERY important to me. I would, and have, highly recommend atos to any parent who wants to introduce their kids to BJJ! The price is VERY reasonable! I say try the free 30 days and you can see for yourself!

Galvao Jiu-​jitsu was the first school I came to when I started my BJJ journey. After shopping around there was no doubt that Galvao Jiu-​jitsu was the place I needed to be. The deciding factors were:
1) Excellent atmosphere
2) Professors and Instructors are the best of the best.

3) Instruction is thorough and detailed.

4) Schedule is Excellent.

5) Price was Right.

SUPER! If you are serious about Ju-​Jitsu, this is the place to be! We enrolled both our kids, and they learned so much in a short amount of time. They learned techniques on how to protect and defend themselves, which was our main goal as parents. Very friendly environment and staff. Andre is very nice and approachable.
We always recommend them to friends and family who are looking for Ju-​Jitsu training.

Back in January I participated in the 30 day trial that the academy offers and let me tell you, the instruction I received during that short period of time was some of the best I’ve had in bjj. Everything was broken down clearly and as a result I was able to pick things up a bit quicker. I went as far as to pay the enrollment fee right before the trial period was up (I was that sold on it and was planning to train here on top of training stand up at my current gym) However financial situations at home prevented me from becoming a member. It was a pretty big blow to me but once things get cleared up, I hope to be back on their mats absorbing all of the knowledge of the game! I wish I could give more than five stars.

I’ve bounced around different jiujitsu places trying to find the right gym, but this place takes the cake. Be warned, its expensive, but the education you get here is really top of the line.
I’m into my second week here and every time I walk out, I’m smiling at how much fun this place is. No egos. No meat-​heads. Everyone here is humble and welcoming. And for me, that’s huge.
With the 30-​day free trial, you don’t have anything to lose.

I can’t say enough good things about this place.
Due to a recurring neck injury, I can no longer train. It was kind of like breaking up with a girlfriend, I miss it a lot and wish I could continue — but I know that if I do, I’ll end up with an even more serious neck issue.
The instruction here is legendary — it’s second-​to-​none. I’ve trained at a few other places in San Diego and have at least taken trial classes at most of them. I can tell you that this place is the very best SD has to offer. Andre is a comedian; he’s always joking around with the students and keeping it light-​hearted. The classes are a blast to attend. The students are all respectful. You won’t find any big egos here.
I highly recommend checking this place out. You owe it to yourself ;)

I’ve been to a few jiu jitsu schools before and this is by far the best training I have ever had. Andre Galvao is the instructor in this school and he teaches every class. You don’t have to worry about egos or tough guys trying to intimidate the whole class.
Andre is a 8x world champion, which means top notch training. He enjoys teaching all of his students. The classes are a decent size so you meet many new people and have a wide range of talent in this academy. Whatever your reason for learning jiu jitsu, Andre is willing to teach you the art and discipline needed to understand this forever growing sport.
