I have attended a number of advanced Spanish conversation groups led by Ari and cannot recommend him more highly. He is extremely creative and carefully plans exercises that not only improve our fluency but also are fun. He is very good about correcting us when we cometer (not hacer) errores — something I wish more teachers would do. So often I repeat mistakes because my Spanish teachers in the past have been too polite to correct me and relearning grammar is harder than learning right in the first place.

Like Ben F., during the break from my regular Spanish classes I had the pleasure of studying with Ari as a tutor in a small group. He is an amazing Spanish teacher, and I would recommend him to anyone! As others have said, he is very patient and dedicated to helping you improve and gain confidence. There is a perfect balance of corrections and encouragement, so that you always feel you are making progress and improving your skills. He really knows his subject and, as others have said, can help you gain precision and confidence with verbs and vocabulary. I would also add that Ari’s assignments and class exercises are extremely creative and engaging. He uses many different types of materials for learning – he can help you progress in your ability and give you new skills.

During my vacation I asked Ari for a two week Spanish «immersion» experience to improve my ability to listen, understand and speak, to correct persistent errors (e.g., para/​por, el/​la, pronunciation) and to give me further insight into current Latin American culture. He skillfully designed an individualized and rigorous program, and like a personal trainer forced me (it’s what I asked for) through an intensive series of assignments (writing essays, watching movies, TV, Youtube, readings, etc.). We met together for a total of 9 hours during those two week to practice conversation, correct my writings and discuss the assignments (all in Spanish, of course).
Some adjectives to describe Ari (in alphabetical order): consistent, demanding (I asked him to be!), knowledgeable, motivating, patient, persistent, punctual, reassuring, respectful, supportive.

I have been taking lessons from Ari for a few months and I can’t believe how much I’ve already learned! Ari is a great tutor — patient, understanding and thorough — clearly explaining the verb tenses which can always be difficult to remember. I travel a lot and I’m really looking forward to going to a spanish speaking city where I can put my newfound knowledge to the test. I am confident that I will be able to speak fluently soon, all because Ari is truly a fantastic tutor.
