History

Established in 1974.

The ALI is a division of the College of Extended Studies, one of the eight colleges of SDSU, the flagship campus of the California State University system and the largest university in the San Diego region. SDSU has been designated a «Research University» with high research activity by the Carnegie Foundation.

The ALI is a renowned teacher training center, educating teachers from around the world in the latest ESL/​EFL teaching techniques and methodologies.

I’m thankful to my cousin who recommended this school for learning English.
one of the great things about ALI that they have 5 programs each one of them are designed to meet the english learners’ needs.
I chose to be enrolled in the pre-Master’s/pre-MBA program and the unique thing about this program its focus on supporting the students to improve their GRE/​GMAT who are seeking graduate admission in the US.
Also, another perk of studying at ALI their SDSU trolly station, which make it so convenient for me when I first got in here.

My experience at the American Language Institute has been amazing. It was my first time to study abroad and I already been here for one year. I love San Diego weather and life because it was very relaxed. American Language Institute is in San Diego State University campus. So it’s a good chance to improve your English because you can meet a lot of university students and native speakers. Also, ALI gave their students a lot of benefits, like city tours, baseball games, zoos, etc. You can really enjoy your time in San Diego. Also, we can use the gym on campus. Sign up and it’s free for ALI students. I like this language school because i met a lot of international students, very nice and friendly teachers. I’m so happy I can be a part of ALI, but in the other hand, I think the class was a little bit early, everyday started at 8:00 am. So sometimes it’s difficult to wake up. If it’s possible to change at 9:00 am it’s better for students. And the class finish at 1:00 pm, so we can have a lot of time to hang out with friends and enjoy beautiful beaches in San Diego. I would definitely recommend this language school to everyone who wants to study abroad and improve their English.
Also, ALI has a lot of different programs you can choose, not only learn how to speak English, but also can get some special certificate about business. So I think it’s very useful for me in the future. Thanks ALI gave us a really nice and good study environment. I appreciate it.
