Alex is an incredibly talented photographer. we had him take our engagement pictures at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego. He showed up on time, was organized and thoughtful about each direction he was shooting and where he had us pose. He was purposeful. Didn’t seem like a lost photographer.
The shoot only took an hour. Just a few days later he sent us a link with tons of gorgeous pictures that we could actually print!
My only regret is that we didn’t fly Alex down to Puerto Vallarta for our destination wedding. The cost for flying 2 people and hotel would have been the same as our photo package at the hotel AND the wedding pictures would have come out gorgeous.
I don’t want to complain about our hotel photographer, but I’ll just say I could have gotten the same quality or better if I handed my tween a camera.
cannot wait to hire Alex again for special occasions. And if my older son has a destination wedding-​Alex book your calendar!

Alex took our Christmas photos this year and we LOVE them! He was very responsive and easy to get a hold of when we had questions. Alex also had a lot of knowledge about locations and fun places that we might want to take our photos at. He was on time the day of our photos and made it such a wonderful experience! He had a lot of ideas himself and was open to our ideas as well. A preview of our photos was available on his facebook shortly after the session and the rest were available the next day. I booked Alex for a family photo shoot due to a rare occasion that all of my kids and grandkids were going to be in town. Not all of the 13 individuals involved were excited about having their pictures taken, however, Alex made it so fun everyone ended up having a great time. Not only did we end up with some awesome family photos, we have a great memory of a day spent together that we will always cherish. Thank you, Alex!

Just finished our second family photo shoot with Alex. We booked him for one hour but he graciously kept shooting past an hour in order to take advantage of the amazing lighting at sunset at Windansea Beach. We shot a few «posed» pictures, but the magic was in the candid playful shots that he was able to capture so effortlessly. The whole «shoot» was so much fun and the results were better than expected. Less than 24 hours from taking the pictures, Alex had already sent us over about 20 pictures to view. Thanks Alex!

Alex is an amazing photographer as well as a kind, patient, lovely person. He has done our family photos for several years now as well as our office photos. We wouldn’t use anyone else. He is also very quick with getting your photos to you! He gets our highest recommendation!

Alex is awesome!
He and his staff are very professional, flexible and go out of their way to make the experience enjoyable. He was incredibly patient with our motley crew of 3 women and 4 children aged 7 & under. Most men would cringe… but Alex was a trooper! Attitude is everything.
The photos are fantastic! A combination of posed and natural shots. Very colorful and well framed. I smile everytime i look at the photos our little monkeys. Thanks for the memories Alex!

We have done shoots with Alex twice now, both times it has been an absolutely wonderful experience. Our two girls (4,2) can be pretty difficult at times, but Alex has a way to calm them down and get them to actually do their real smiles not the fake posed ones. I’m sure they would do even better if Mom & Dad weren’t there messing up What Alex does. The girls both loved it.
There entire experience is great. From Alex suggesting an earlier time to better use the light due to the weather, his very prompt arrival, the professional and fun shoot itself, and of course the images. Some Photos were ready that same night on his facebook page. The rest were ready with in 3 days. Viewing and ordering is simple and the prints are beautiful.
We look forward to using Alex again and would highly recommend him for any occasion.

I’m posting this update because Alex has, once again, surpassed my every expectation with his professionalism and skill. He photographed a formal ceremony for us yesterday and his photos are so artful and well-​composed. Communicating with him was so easy. He was like a fly on the wall at the ceremony, I barely saw him. The photos, on the other hand, are so intimate. He caught every detail! Amazing! Hire Alex and your FB page can, too, overflow with gushing comments about your great photos! Be sure to get a stack of Alex’s business cards to give your friends. You’ll need ‘em!

I was first introduced to Alex through a sweet deal I received on Living Social’s «deal of the week». Shortly After purchasing my one hour shoot I sent an email to make my appointment; I was very pleased to not only the response time to my email, but the overall quality and content of the response.
Now on to my appointment day. We arranged a shoot at one of my favorite places, Balboa Park. When I arrived, Alex was already there waiting on me; and I was early myself. He is very personable and delightful to talk with. I myself am also very camera shy, but Alex made it a very easy comfortable for us. The end results were amazing, and he really brought out «the moment» as I can best describe it from our pictures. We also received a very cool DVD with all of our Photo’s on it. I would highly recommend Alex Calegari Photography for any of your photo needs. I will definitely be using him again in the future.

What a fantastic experience.
Purchased a Living Social coupon for an hour shoot with Alex for my family of four. Booking our shoot was simple, and Alex offered to come to us (a park near our house). He didn’t give me any grief when I had to re-​schedule our first planned shoot at very late notice, and re-​scheduling was easy. I always received quick responses via email, and his team is also great about sending out appointment reminders, etc.
The shoot itself was a great experience, which is a miracle considering I have a 7 month old babygirl and a 2 year old boy. Alex was amazing with the kids, and mostly because of him we actually got quite a few really good pictures.
Alex sent me a preview picture via text message and had a few shots on facebook a few hours after the shoot was over!!! He sent the entire collection of photos (which I can now download right from his website) within a day or two, and they are so much better than I imagined they could be. (He also offers the option to purchase prints and other photo goodies directly from the site)
I already know that Alex will be taking care of any future photo needs, and I am more than happy to pay full price for his service from now on.

We just got our pictures back and we’re so happy with the results. Alex was really easy to work with, had a lot of great ideas and made us all feel very comfortable. He got my shy 10 year old son to open up and actually have fun on family portrait day which is not an easy thing to do.

Just received our photo gallery from Alex Calegari Photography and we are so happy! We didn’t think we had the time to get professional photos and have been caught taking our kids to a mall studio or forgoing photos altogether. We now have amazing family and children photos from Alex.

I had a great experience working with Alex from Alex Calegari Photography on my family photo shoot he did an amazing work being that I am very picky.
His work and style is amazing he has many ideas and different poses and angels which we really liked and worked great for me and my family.
We did the shot in Presidio Park and Alex was great working around our schedule, he also knows the park good and his lighting even better.
Alex arrived promptly, prepared and ready to work.

My hubby and I scheduled a 1-​hour photo session with Alex through a Living Social Deal we purchased and he was simply fantastic. Best $ 99 bucks we’ve ever spent — and if it had cost three times as much we would still feel like we scored a heck of a deal!
Alex is a wonderful photographer who captured some incredible shots of us in Balboa Park that will officially make the Christmas card this year. Although we only spent an hour with him, he instantly put us at ease and made us feel like we were long time friends.
As we were driving home from the park, we received a text from Alex with some of the shots he had taken during the shoot. We thought it was a really nice touch that he went out of his way to do that so we could have a sneak peak of some of the photos he had captured of us.
Great guy. Great photographer. Great experience. We can’t recommend him enough!

Alex was the most incredible, thoughtful person I could have had for our photo shoot. He was very attentive and helpful with my shyness in front of the camera. His work is impeccable and I loved having him here.
It was a great experience. He even took extra photos of our view and our kitchen for us. He was easy to work with and I will use him again to get my photos without any shyness in them. He will do it! I am sure of that.
You will not be disappointed with Alex. He is a true professional and I highly recommend him.

I honestly don’t know how to begin telling you how wonderful our experience with Alex was. While I gush, please keep in mind that EVERYTHING I’m talking about has only cost me $ 99…
1) Alex’s office is extremely responsive to calls and e-​mails. I wrote them a frantic e-​mail because I had a small window of availability for a shoot with 10 people and they were incredible about working with me. Alex was awesome about re-​working his schedule to accommodate us!
2) Alex arrived promptly and so prepared. There is nothing worse then a photographer who isn’t decisive and organized. *Especially* with a large group that includes a toddler! :-) Alex had many wonderful ideas for poses and locations. He kept everyone happy and on track.
Alex was also very amenable to every request that we had and worked hard to get every combination we needed.
3) Alex is wonderful with children. He kept my squirmy three year old engaged and cheerful for the full 90 minutes we were shooting. He captured some fantastic shots of her, both candid and posed.
4) Because of our large numbers, everything took extra time and Alex generously shot for an extra thirty minutes completely free!
5) In only three days, all of our shots were hosted on Alex’s site. They were all beautifully color corrected and cropped. I appreciate the added attention to detail as photo retouching is what I do for a living. I know how much more time Alex spent making sure each shot was perfect.
Also, the prices for prints were incredibly fair. I usually do all my own printing, but given the quality of Alex’s retouching and the low prices, I’ll probably order some larger prints directly from him!
6) I received our session dvd (included in the session fee) and it was cracked from my mailman’s rough handling. I e-​mailed Alex and he sent me a new dvd the *same day*. Such incredible customer service!
In short, I don’t see any reason why I would use any other photographer but Alex. I cannot believe how willing he was to go above and beyond for his customers when his work is so good he could probably get customers anyway.
Use him! Seriously!
