Acupuncture By Devon

I’m going to start this post like everyone else… Devon is amazing! She really takes the time to get to know you and genuinely cares about your well being. If you’re scared of needles (I am!) she will help you through it. The needles she uses are tiny and nothing like those scary ones at the doctors office. Trust me, you’ll do great! I also appreciate that she talks to you like you’ve been friends forever which really puts me at ease.
I came to her because I was searching for someone to help me feel «normal» again. I had a few issues I had struggled to keep I check for years but had been terribly unsuccessful. Devon has really helped me get my body back on the right track. I sleep better, and fall asleep faster than I ever have before which is so refreshing considering it used to take me hours to fall asleep. My anxiety and countless other problems I’ve had are in check and I’ve never felt better. Trust the reviews, Devon is fantastic.

Devon is amazing. When I fist went to her I was having allot of trouble with insomnia, over heating and low back pain. I had received acupuncture before but Devon is definitely a step above the rest and it shows in her treatments. She was able to help me with my sleep and over heating and gave me a ton of relief in my back. She is very skilled, extremely knowledgeable and really cares about her patients. Devon has been a tremendous blessing to me. I had tried everything else and was somewhat skeptical at first, but decided to move forward. I went to her almost a year ago suffering from conditions caused by a car accident and depression. I had been through multiple types of treatments before seeing her: physical therapy, steriod injections, epidural injections, pain pills and others; to no lasting relief. Devon is amazing! I went to see her after searching on Unilocal for a acupuncturist who could help me improve my fertility and overall heath while my husband and I are trying to conceive.
From the first meeting I instantly felt comfortable. She is so easy to talk to I had no problem opening up right away about intimate details of my life and body. She really listens and cares about her patients (which is a new experience for me compared to western doctors who are often so rushed and quick to diagnose and move on). She even gave me lots of great tips and advice in addition to the treatments and herbal supplements. With her past success rate and guidance I am sure that I will get my hormones regulated and be pregnant soon :)
I also wanted to note that before seeing Devon I had only received acupuncture once before while in China and the needles were huge and made me nauseas. Devon’s needles are much smaller (thank god LOL) and I don’t even feel them! If anything I find it very relaxing! I have also recommend my husband to see her to help with his migraines. Trust the Unilocal reviews she is wonderful!

Devon sincerely cares about your health and well-​being. Any questions or concerns you have in between treatments, she gets back to you within a day. She has been so helpful with my issues and I feel SO much better after each treatment. I am very thankful I was referred to her.

#gifted, #authentic, #healthyliving… I first experienced Devon’s work for an old shoulder injury (skiing accident) that has taken years to regain full strength and health. Occasionally a tweak while training (my overzealous ego or inner kid creeps out)… sending me to back to therapy. Over the years, I have learned to manage the sprains and strains through acupuncture. Because of this I have had the, sometimes interesting, pleasure of meeting the whole array of healers (PTs, chiros, acu’s, massage, etc.)
What stands out for the purpose of this «review» is how unique Devon is. You can observe a lot from when she enters the room. She is thoughtful and present. She speaks from a place of knowledge. There is this palpable feeling of empathy and a passion to heal. What also sets her aside from her peers is the diversity in treatment… most of the time I would «just» receive needling from my other Acu’s. With Devon, she has a war-​chest of treatment options and recommendations. After just a few sessions I am back to handstands and my inner kid couldn’t be more satisfied.
I send my patients to her, I send my friend’s to her, I’d send my mom to her.

I went to Devon throughout my whole pregnancy and truly believe it’s one of the reasons my pregnancy went so smoothly. She is very knowledgeable and you can tell that she really cares about her clients. She is also very friendly and I looked forward to my appts, even though I’m having needles poked everywhere!!! Devon is the most caring, wonderful, big sister I never had. She has been helping me with some health issues I’ve been having for a while and I couldn’t be happier with the results. No other doctor or specialist has cared even remotely about me let alone improved my condition. About a year and a half ago I was desperately scanning Unilocal to find an acupuncturist for my infertility issues. Anyone going through infertility knows what a emotional and exhausting process it is and I needed an outlet to help outside of western doctors. I had heard that acupuncture might help so I figured why not. After a lot of back and forth on Unilocal I made the decision to call and make an appointment with Devon and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
From day one Devon makes you feel like a friend, not a patient. She is both an acupuncturist and a life coach. I always feel comfortable asking her questions about things no matter how silly they sound. I have cried in frustration and disappointment to her and she understand and really listens. Every time I entered her office feeling disappointed and alone I left knowing that everything was going to be okay.
I am not a big fan of needles and was very hesitant at my first visit, like scared to death! What a waste of energy that was. You barely feel a thing and it is actually quite relaxing. There are times I feel a little guilty going because I feel like I am sneaking in a bit of a spa experience. Devon is extremely knowledgeable in her field and is constantly exploring new ways to help her patients. Her goal is not to have you go to acupuncture for years but rather to help as soon as she can so that you can live a happy and healthy life.
And, the best outcome of all… I am 6 months pregnant with a healthy baby boy! No IUI, no IVF… just Devon. What better review can I write than to share that news? I will be forever grateful.

Devon is a skilled acupuncturist and a genuinely kind person. She has shown more care and concern for me than any other medical practitioner ever has. She gets to know her patients as people and really cares about them. I appreciate that she is always learning new stuff and adding new skills to her repertoire.
As a new client I felt instantly at ease with Devon. As a returning client, I know that the more I acupuncture, the better I feel. Truly, Devon has helped me with so many complaints. I work at a computer like everybody else, but my neck and shoulders get insanely tense. I’m talking granite slabs. But Devon turns me into jelly. It’s wonderful to be jelly. It’s magic!

This was the first time I ever tried accupuncture… had wanted to for a long time… but recently ended up with tennis elbow and needed to get it healed!
Devon was great… explained everything ahead of time… really put me at ease about the whole process… the office was spotlessly clean… very pleasant reception staff… the treatment really helped, and I’m really picky about this stuff… my mom was a nurse and taught me what to look for in a medical practice… and Devon provides excellent care.

I happened to be neighbors with Devon and was looking for a acupuncturist that specialized in fertility treatments. She had excellent reviews and I already loved her in person… a perfect match.
I was 40 years old and planning to try for a baby. I also had a few other problems to deal with… I had suffered from endometriosis since my early 20s and had already undergone two laparoscopies and treatment with continuous birth controls (no periods) since I was in my mid 20s. I was concerned that it was too late to have a baby at my age, so my doctor recommended that I take a test called the Anti-​Müllerian Hormone TEST or AMH test. Its a relatively new test and can supposedly provide «an indirect measurement of a woman’s egg supply which is also known as ovarian reserve». My test results came back extremely low– the lowest score possible on the AMH scale. The doctor called and said how sorry she was and that I’d have to use donor eggs and IVF if I ever wanted to have a baby. It was the worst news ever.
I decided to try acupuncture and a better diet before resorting to IVF and the other treatments the doctor told me I would need.
Several months after starting treatment with Devon, at 41 years old, it happened! I can’t tell you the shock that followed when I saw that faint pink line on the pregnancy test. I’m 5 months along now (she just kicked!) and am still in shock from the news.
Choosing Devon as an acupuncturist was a great decision for me! Definitely well worth the time and money spent…

Devon is the absolute best! She is professional, sincere, understanding, calm, centered and most importantly a healer. I was referred to Devon by a friend and was interested in trying acupuncture after nothing else worked, somewhat of a last resort. Devon personally made it her mission to help me achieve my goals. I started seeing Devon because of stress and fertility-​related issues. She was always honest with me, and would support me if I wanted to yield to western medicine practices. Needless to say, with Devon’s help, I did achieve my goals. I was able to let go of some tension I was holding and was able to get pregnant.
I will say that at first I was afraid of needles. Devon makes everything so easy and after my first appointment, I was never afraid again.
I had such a great experience with Devon that my husband started seeing her for pain in his knees. I see go see Devon about once a month. I highly recommend Devon to anyone who is searching for a solution, whether its a pain, fertility, or emotional issue.

TMI Alert: I have had the periods from hell since I was ten years old. Yes, ten. Let’s just say decades later, for the first time in my life without using heavy duty pharmaceuticals I am feeling relief.
And for the first time I have woken up and NOT had to take painkillers during ‘that time of the month.‘
Here is an excerpt from my blog:
…as the years have passed things have gotten worse. They had me on just about every birth control pill around. Vicodin, muscle relaxers; nothing helped. In desperation, almost two years ago I had a Novasure endometrial ablation. My gynecologist told me stories of hope. And maybe my periods would even disappear! I almost cried thinking I’d have some sort of respite. Nothing was helping. Not heavy duty pain medicine. Not sleep. Not heat. Nothing.
The Novasure worked for about two to three months. It seems now things are almost worse.
Remember when I wrote that I had tried just about everything? Well the last option I was offered is to have my uterus removed. A hysterectomy? I am not ready to go that far. I spoke with my chiropractor a bit and he recommended the acupuncturist to me. Since my insurance covers it, I decided it is high time to try a more natural way to make myself better.
After finally having some time carved out, I went and she offered me some tea. I filled out my paperwork and when it came to the female issues I had so much to write.
We went over my health history at length and then she introduced me to acupuncture. The needles are SO TINY. It isn’t like what you see in the movies or on TV — at least not to me. I got undressed (leaving underwear on) and got on the table — it is exactly like a massage table. I was face down and she started. The first needle didn’t feel too pleasant, but she adjusted it and all the others were fine. IT DOES **NOT** HURT. It’s more like a little pinch when you do feel it– but barely. Oh — and yes, you are covered the entire time with a sheet!
I know it sounds odd, but it is SO RELAXING. I almost fell asleep. She left the room for about ten minutes then came in, removed the needles and massaged me. Then I turned over. She placed more needles and left again for awhile. I relaxed and she came back in and did what is called Moxibustion over my abdomen. It involves burning mugwort and the smoke smells like sage or pot, actually!
I could feel warmth from the inside out. It was soooo nice. After a few minutes she removed the needles and I got up. When I went out I could barely talk and while I was trying to sign my receipt I accidentally flicked the pen toward the receptionist. Someone walked in and joked I had «acubuzz.» Yep! I felt buzzed. In a good way. I was too shy to ask for photos, but I will try to get some“
Yesterday was my second treatment. I feel awesome. I also started Chinese herbs. I am drug-​free today. I am hopeful, too. And I haven’t had hope in a very long time.
If you have any reservations at all, put them to the wayside. See Devon. She is awesome. She knows what she’s doing and will take the time to answer any and all of your questions.

I have FIVE (yes count ‘em ladies) friends who all had difficulty getting pregnant, who all went to Devon and ALL have gotten pregnant because of Devon. These women are working professionals who take their health and time seriously. Devon came highly recommended and has more than exceeded my expectations. She is part life coach (unknowingly I think) part acupuncturist extraordinaire. When I leave I always feel like a little kid that wants to run around the block or play hide and go seek. Not sure those are the intended results but for a life as stressful as mine — Devon is a god send. Seriously. If you are thinking about trying acupuncture you will be denying yourself if you do not try Devon. Simply put — she will change your life.

Well I believe that consistency is key! I continued on with Devon. This May is 9 months that I have been seeing her! Although we were making my body baby ready we were planning to try for a family in a year or so… Welp God definitely had a plan for us because April 19^th I found out I was pregnant! I am now 9 weeks and continuing on with Devon to decrease nausea (which is helping) and continue to regulate and balance my body! Soon she will be performing our 12 week blessing and I am so so excited for this! I love Devon and her magic! She teaches you that the power is within you as well! Healing goes beyond medical treatments. Tapping into yourself and letting go is huge! I highly recommend her! She is special! Thank you Devon ;)
