Dr. Yan changed my life! I was suffering from an old gym injury for the last year and a half and had given up all hope that the pain would subside. I was also losing grip strength in my hands and at times they would feel numb and weak. It was particularly bad when I would be very stressed out due to work and there were times when I would attempt to go back to the gym but the old injury would resurface to haunt me again. I was skeptical at first as I’ve never tried acupuncture but lo and behold, I was a changed man after only 1 session. yes ONE SESSION, the pain immediately dispersed away from my shoulder/​neck region (the tightness disappeared a day or two after the session) and I was finally able to wake up with no pain in the morning which was nothing short of a miracle to me. I am so grateful, thank you so much! I am now more confident to be able to surf and gym on the daily without fear of restringing up the old pain. If you lift very heavy weights at the gym or suffer from back pains (muscle aches) acupuncture is the way to go. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it, trust me!

I’ve been using Unilocal to find good restaurants and services for three years since I came to America, but I was always too lazyyyyyy to write a review… Well, I also have been seeing Dr. Jan Yao for a while but finally get a chance to write a review.
I had serious upper back and neck pain when I was in school. I was in so much pain that getting up in the morning was torture. I even had numbness through my right hand and arm that I could not finish my essays for that semester. I went to a clinic and all the doctor was able to do was giving me some pills to kill the pain. Personally, I am from China and I don’t like to take a lot of pills and I am afraid that my body will be addicted to them. I was scared and stressful as I was so far away from home and still trying to deal with homework and exams.
I found Dr. Yao online and the address is not too far away from my school. I went there once a week. She is very experienced! She used acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion and Chinese herbs to treat me. After three months, all of my pain and numbness were gone!!! Also, she had «balanced» my whole body, so I felt healthier than before as I didn’t get sick easily when my classmates were sick. That’s something extra :) :) :)
However, when I studied very hard, my neck pain came back several times. That’s probably because I rarely move my position and my neck while writing papers. Well, if you are a student, you probably understand my situation… a lot of deadlines! :) LOL
I visit Dr. Yao for help every time I had pain and I don’t need to take a painkiller~~~
Finally, I graduated!!! I think Dr. Yao had play an important role in my school life because she is the one promised me that I would be fine. She also encouraged me to continue my study in the U.S. when I suffered from the pain and almost gave up the school and went back to China.
I don’t know why Acupuncturists are not «real doctors» in the United States, but they are doctors with a lot of knowledge and respects in China. Also, a lot of traditional Chinese medical hospitals exists in China.
I believe there are many students may have been suffered from neck pain, back pain, or hands/​arms numbness like I’ve been. Dr. Yao is the one you can trust and the one can help you!

Doctor Jan cured my tinnitus!
I came to Doctor Yajuan Jan for help to treat my tinnitus after suffering from it for about 4 months.
