Abolt Process Service

Unorganized and unresponsive. I never did get anyone served. It was like pulling teeth to get an answer or any movement on my case.

On December 21^st I called Cheyenne at Albolt Process Service. I told her I was filing an Unlawful Detainer action in the morning and asked her about her services and her charges. She quoted me $ 140 and said she would make her first attempt at service on the 22^nd if I got the papers to her before noon. I had to park 3 blocks away from court to file the papers. Her «office», which turned out to be a basket on a desk of someone else office, was 4 blocks away. I decided to walk it because I wanted to get the papers to her asap. It was a total of a 14 block walk. Being a handicapped 75 year old grandmother, it was very difficult, but because time is of the essence in an unlawful detainer action, and she said she would make her first attempt that evening, I did it. I left all the papers and a check for $ 140. She did not attempt service that night. I later found out she didn’t even pick up the papers till the next day. I remember calling her twice to find out the status, and each time I left a message, and each time it took her 2 days to get back to me. I was not a happy camper. It turns out she was in more of a hurry to cash my check than to do her job. Finally got a call from her on the weekend, don’t remember if it was the 26^th or the 27^th, telling me she had completed service on all 3 people. Then she asked me who served the 3 day notice. I told her I did. She said a landlord is not allowed to serve a 3 day. I asked if the law had changed because I have been doing this for 45 years. She said no, that it was always done this way. She was wrong. A landlord most certainly can serve a 3 day notice. Then she asked me if I actually filed the case with the court. I said of course, just before I brought the papers to her. She said that she was filling out her proof of service only to see that the name of the defendant and plaintiff were not on the summons. There were 3 mistakes to get us to this point. First mine for not typing in the names in the first place, the court clerk for not catching it and stamping the papers anyway, and Cheyenne’s for serving a defective summons. Then, she never, I repeat never sent me her proof of service. I called her on it on January 4^th, and was told that she mailed it Friday. (which happens to be New Year’s Day, another lie) She also told me that for the 3 attempts needed for a substitution service one of the attempts had to include a weekend day. This is true only in her mind. It is not the law, only another made up law to try to cover her muddy, incompetent tracks. I wasted time and $ 140 using this company. Please don’t make the same mistake I did. I filed an amended summons and called BridgeWay process service at 619−621−8814. Ruth helped me in her real office. Took time answering my questions, and called me daily to give me updates on the service. She was very competent and her prices were much more reasonable then Albolt. I will use BridgeWay again and certainly recommend them.

I used this service to serve someone who had not paid her rent for a number of months. The person who helped me was Cheyenne, and she was very knowledgeable and helpful in telling me how it would go, and what my options were in serving her. After the first address turned up dry, she looked online to try to locate the person I was serving, and called me back to tell me what had happened. We discussed my having her served at her office, and when I said that I hated to embarrass her in front of her co-​workers, Cheyenne suggested that I could tell her what I was going to do, and give her the option of calling Cheyenne directly and meeting somewhere to get the papers, outside of the office. I know this won’t work for everyone, but for me in this circumstance, I wasn’t too nervous about the defendant skipping town, and I know she just had a problem writing bad checks. (OK, maybe more problems). Anyway, it worked out fine and Cheyenne called to tell me when it was done and she had filed the paperwork. This was my first experience with a process server, and it went pretty smoothly, although I find it a very nerve wracking experience overall.

Fast, thorough service.

I was having trouble with another process server whom I will call Process Server One. I called Abolt (Process Server Two) to serve Process Server One. Cheyenne Abolt made it as though she spent a lot of extra time trying to serve my papers, going out of her way, and that she could never serve Process Server One.
She then asked me to write a testimonial, of which I wrote a great one, thinking she went above and beyond to help me.
I paid her again to try to serve my papers. Again, Cheyenne was unsuccessful, for which I paid her another $ 50.
I decided to take my business elsewhere and use someone else (Process Server Three). Process Server Three served Process Server One without a problem. Now I have serious concerns as to if Cheyenne Abolt really even attempted to serve Process Server One. I wonder if she was just claiming that she made these four attempts. Now I want Cheyenne to take down my testimonial because I wrote it unaware of her deceptions, and unfortunately she has not and will not.

Answered the phone when I called with questions, didn’t charge me until my landlord had been served. Was even willing to testify in court that my landlord was legally served (just in case — my landlord was pretty evasive).

FIVE STARS!!! Hiring Abolt Process Services was such a wonderful experience in a horrible situation. She was great and helped us serve our landlord. He and his wife are the definition of scummy landlords and were unservable through USPS and our own efforts. Abolt Process Services was so persistant and finally served them after months of trying even though she would have received payment either way. She showed up at court twice (at small claims and then at an appeal at the superior court) and testified on our behalf. If we had not had her there I believe we would not have won our case. She gave us great advice along the way and referrals for legal advice when needed. If we ever need another service done, which I hope we don’t, I would go to her immediately. Thank you so much Abolt Process Services!

I tried to give a no star, but it would not accept it. This shaunty Company is ran from her home first of all which explains a tremendous amount of failure on this Company’s part. Very unprofessional, latent, and dishonest. I recomend going to K-​mart and asking for legal advice of any such before going to this Company. The Company logo should be, «We serve all legal documents, when we want to». Unbelievable!

DO not use Abolt !!!
This is the most pathetic excuse for a business I have ever seen. FIrst she lost my divorce paperwork for two weeks. After two weeks I called to inquire the status of service. Cheyanne would not return my calls after this inquiry. A week later after 15 calls and several emails I decided I need to go down to the business address. To my surprise it is a condo in PB and she isn’t home and the boy friend called her. She told him that she would call me back. She still didn’t!!! So I show up again at 0700… she isn’t there. She finally calls me back and tells me that she would serve the paper work that evening and would do everything she could to make it right. It was actually served… I thought my troubles were over… She never mailed me the proof of service!!! It took me two weeks to finally get that!
What the Hell??? Her incompetence has delayed my divorce by at least a month. The website says satisfaction guarnteed!!! Do you think I can even get a call returned to discuss a refund??? I think not! I intend to pursue all possible recourse… Better Business Bureau… every review site I can find and maybe even legal action.
To sum up… I am most dissatisfied!

This company only called me back to get payment. They never served the person I needed process service on. I am going to have to sue them just to get my payment back. BEWARE!!!

This company was extremely helpful to me during my small claims case. I wasn’t entirely too sure about how to file or what the procedure was but they helped me understand the entire process. All I had to do was fill out the papers and they took it from there. They set the court date, served the jerks who owe me money and all I had to do was show up at court. Thank you guys for serving my papers and making this much easier than I thought it would be.
