John and crew did a small job for me (wiring my home in Poway with ethernet jacks for wired internet in our office) and it was quick, not too expensive, and very professional work. My network is faster than ever and I plan to use A/​V Consulting again if I need any home theater or security installations done. :)

John has managed every media center upgrade in our home for the past decade. His recommendations gave us the desired result every time. I’ve learned to trust his product recommendations implicitly and this has saved me both time (researching various options), anxiety (over making the wrong decision), and money (talking me out of something I wouldn’t need or wouldn’t be happy with). I am a fairly obsessive person when researching a product, and I’ve reached the point with John at which I can tell him what I want as the goal and I just go with what he tells me to do; I’ve never been disappointed. He has talked me out of some products that would have been a disappointment but were hyped in the media. He completely solved our WIFI problem of coverage and weak signal after we almost went down the wrong path recommended by a «network expert». Because of his experience with large and complex jobs, I know I get the benefit of that wisdom on my job. I wouldn’t dream of letting anyone else touch my media center equipment.

We moved down to San Diego from the Bay Area and purchased a house in Rancho Santa Fe. The previous homeowner recommended John Walker and A/​V Consulting to handle the audio, video and control system. The house had previously had a Crestron control system in it, so we replaced with the same. We are not very technology oriented and were worried that the system would be too complicated. We could not have been more wrong. John worked with us to design the system that would do exactly what we wanted. We use iPads to control the entire system, including audio, video, heating/​cooling, and security. It’s great and we we really enjoy using it. We then had a surveillance system installed which, again, we can access from any device from anywhere.
Above all, John and his staff have been incredibly responsive to any issues and have provided top notch customer service
Just this last year we completed a substantial remodel and addition to the house which included a full theme theater. John and his crew did an amazing job designing the perfect system for us and now our theater is our favorite room in the house. It really is better than going to any movie theater, and it’s right in our house.

Hired to setup a new office for our company. Scope included an IT room, network cabling throughout the entire suite, and media (HDMI, etc) installation for approximately 11 TVs.
Job was done without any hiccups, and everything came out exactly as we wanted it. Would definitely recommend and use again.

John has done 4 different installations of varying complexity from a swing arm tv in the kitchen to a big time system in the living room. John is very creative and very fastidious about his work.
