In 1980, I started tuning pianos in Dallas, TX. I relocated to San Diego in 1994, and have been following my love of pianos ever since.

Hans loves pianos. He is a teacher who tunes and works on pianos on the side. It is very clear he loves music and will spend much of your appointment discussing various composers and pieces if you are so inclined. He charged us $ 120 for a tuning and $ 120 for a pitch raising (our piano hasn’t been tuned in 10 years and 2 moves). He took about an hour and a half altogether. Hans is a friendly man and it was a pleasure to meet him as well as to receive quality service for our piano.

Hans came to my rescue and fixed my old Howard piano that my dad restored for me 30 years ago. Now it’s going to AZ to live so the grandkids can learn to play. Hans did an amazing job, was very knowledgable and courteous. I would recommend him of you need to have your piano fixed or tuned.

NOT HAPPY WITH «HANS», I paid cash, $ 1750.00 for HANS to restring my piano 6 months ago, My piano returned damaged, scratched, even dents in it, the strings looked the same, I think he just tuned/​tightened the strings, I was told for that amount of MONEY, he said he would restring ALL of them, THEN WHEN QUESTIONED BY ME, after I told him, it did not look like new strings, he said, for that money, I only got some stings replaced. such BS,
I have asked repeatably for a RECEIPT, he never would give me one. He said he would return with it, and tune my piano,… still waiting, I called several times,
and he acts all nice with BS, I believe he took full advantage because it was easy CASH for him. He thought I wouldn’t realize he didn’t replace the strings, Yet, it is so obvious they are the old strings, what l
ies he said.
NOT a man of your word, I would never recommend him ever.
I am filing a complaint with the BBB as well.

Must have been a different Hans who delivered and «tuned» our piano. It is an old baby grand, but Hans spent all of ten minutes tuning. What he did was note that the strings were bad and he could replace them. When asked why he spent so little time, he responded «I played every key.» As if that is enough…
Additionally, he failed to mention he needed to be paid in cash, so we had to scramble to come up with the money ($ 350) with no notice.

He has just tune my piano. He did a good job and a nice person :)
he came on time and he was so polite person, and he was helping me to tune my piano. he did quickly and played some songs and talked with me some techniques. He is a piano teacher too, he played some nice song, i am really love it. i hope i can join to his piano class if i have time

My experience with A&H Piano tuning was top notch. I contacted the owner, Hans, regarding purchasing our first piano. He was very helpful and enthusiastic from the beginning. He checked out our Wurlitzer piano with his co-​worker, Yuri. They were both very professional and positive from start to finish. They moved our piano, then cleaned and tuned our piano. Additionally, Hans played our new piano before, during and after tuning. His music was beautiful! I would highly recommend Hans, A&H Piano and tuning for your Piano needs. Had my recently inherited 75 year-​old Schumann piano tuned for the first time. Hans was professional, courteous and very knowledgeable about pianos. He even played a song for us after it was tuned. I would recommend A & H to anyone in need of a piano tuning.
