Liked this place until they treated me like any other customer. Bought 4 pairs and got a friend to get his there. Went to return 1 pair bc of defects and low quality and the refused to return. Silly business plan especially with things like Unilocal that exist.
Noticed MANY defects in all glasses and lower quality than previously assumed.

I am from out of town and have been following their products for quite awhile. I walked in pretty much knowing the Exact frames I was looking for and was able to help myself easily through out the shop. There’s so many frames and products available/​on display.
Josh was very helpful in breaking down the frame styles, color ways, and thorough on how to go about shipping and getting the exact prescription frames I wanted. I purchased a pair with his help and am definitely picking up another pair in the near future.

Always had a great experience at 9five. I was over at Otay 9five but didn’t know that they are moving to a different location. So I called Northpark 9five and Tiffany was so helpful. Excellent customer service. It’s been my experience that when you have a phenomenal product and excellent customer service to match, your business will continue to flourish. Picked up a fresh pair of watson croc frames today with RX. It took them about a week and a half to deliver but the final product was amazing! The moment i put them on, i felt like i was able to see for the first time. Not to say the employees there are pretty badass and help out with choosing the right frame for you. Thank you 9five!

I have to say I like the DT location better. Aside from that this store is dope! Especially Ms. Tiffanny. Her customer service was on point.
She was kind of slammed with customers but she sill handled the situation like it was nothing. She made sure everyone was being helped at the same time she was helping me. I was impressed!

So, I really went back and forth about writing this review since I’ve supported 9five a long time, as far back as AM/​FM skateshop days. None the less, they treated me like s*&t so it only made sense to write about my experience. I ordered a few shades from them black Friday 2014. The day after I ordered they sent me an email stating that part of my order would not be available due to a inventory issue on their end. They attached a one time 50% off code to use on my next purchase. The code had no expiration date implied or stated. I went into their old 8^th & G store a few weeks later and i was informed the code was to be used on the website only. I wanted another pair anyway and since the guy working there told me the code had no expiration date I bought the frames i wanted in store along with a IXV watch (battery stopped working 3 weeks later) and saved the code for a later time. When they opened their chula store i went in to check it out tried on a few frames and spoke to Aaron who also told me the code i had didn’t have a expiration date. Here is where things changed. After the frame on my KLS 2 fell apart i wanted to replace them and since i knew exactly what i wanted i went online to order. I received an error code at checkout, so i reached out to their customer support. Gentleman by them name of Nick Martinez responded and told me he needed my half off code to see what the issue was. After i sent it he replied by telling me that that code was created for someone else, i sent him the email they sent me and then he responded that it had expired. Which not only contradicts what the last two 9five employees told me but it doesnt say that on the email. He started getting condescending and telling me «i know it doesnt say it expires, but it also doesnt say it lasts forever» which is an incredibly asinine answer. If it expires STATE THAT. He offered me 15% off «if you want it» which is pity offer at best. Ive shopped at 9five because i wanted to support home grown brands, however, i will not support a company that treats loyal customers like garbage.

High quality and «Designer» looks with out the designer price. Owned 3 total pairs and have been more than happy with the construction and the uniqueness of each frame. Will always resort to 9five whenever I’m looking to get new shades. Also their staff are very informative and kind, Tiffany helped me with my purchase and was awesome!

Super personable service here! I had just ordered these cute prescription ones from them, but the frame arms were way too wide and would not stay on my face… waaaaah!
So, I brought them here and the girl got straight to work to heat the frame up and try to bend the arms back, but the glasses were still not working out (she even tried them on herself and confirmed how wide they were). She eventually swapped them the whole frame out since the first frame ended up being defective and they now fit like a dream. The girl was patient, sweet and super helpful! I love this company, they really stand by their products!

The most sleekest Shades & Readers in San Diego! I have been eyeing the Watson 2’s forever & finally came in during Black Friday to purchase it. 20% discount, cannot beat that! On any other day, with your Unilocal check in, you get a 15% discount, still not bad.
Great customer service & the worker was very friendly & helped me solidify my decision on frames after debating between the Watson 2’s & J’s (which has bigger frames). The store on 30^th is great & easier to find parking versus their old location in downtown!
They can make any of their frames into prescription lenses but if you want to use your insurance, call ahead to see if they accept it. They do not accept MESVison.

Looking for a pair of sunglasses to replace the prescription Gucci’s I lost been eyeing (pun intended) a pair of 9Fives. Didn’t know they had a store in North Park by my office so went in to check out the Caps LX and immediately Tiffany greeted me. She was very helpful and provided me with a ton of info on the polarized and prescription lens. I like how I can buy a pair and always come back and get a prescription lens later. Walked out with a polarized set and I’m a happy camper. Go see Tiffany she’s cool and helpful and made my decision easy!

Let me tell you, this company is a company I am proud and feel amazing about supporting. The people are very personable and I feel at home and comfortable. Not like some cooperation that could care less about you, your beliefs and ambitions. You walk in, and you can have a conversation that turns into mad time gone by like I have with Leon, and Tiffany.
Second off let’s talk about the products! The styles of the glasses are mad dope! You can feel confidant in glasses you will be wearing on your face! One of the most satisfying purchases I have had this whole year!

I stopped by to pick up a pair of polarized Belmonts but wasn’t sure which color I wanted to go with. Tiffany was very helpful and even turned the light off bc it was like 100* on Saturday and the building didn’t have any AC. No knock on 9five but I was sweaty from riding motocross all day and felt bad trying on the different shades. Tiffany helped me decide on the tortoise shell Belmonts to offset my black similar-​styled Maui Jims but the lens quality on the Maui Jims are much clearer, crisper, and IMO an all-​around better pair of glasses hence the $ 200+ price tag. But these Belmonts will be a nice pair of throw around glasses I wont have to worry too much about especially when I’m out in the rough riding moto, hiking, etc.

I love the selection of frames and sunglasses they carry, the store is spacious, neatly organized. Leon was super nice and very helpful, he remembered me from the last time I came in.
On my last visit to San Diego, I purchased a pair of La Jolla frames and they were delivered to my apartment in Boston within less than a week. Big thank you to Jay and Leon, I love my new frames!

I received a welcoming greet when I stepped in which made things more comfortable for me. The person working was very friendly and didn’t hesitate to help or answer the questions we had. I love the way 9Five shades look. I’d say the quality of their style is comparable or better than Ray-Ban’s and they’re a lot cheaper. I ended up purchasing two pairs and was even able to get a deal on them! Awesome! Check them out.

Everytime I visit SD, my brother and I make sure to come here. We love supporting and buying from local SD companies, and its something different to sport in Hawaii. However, I flew solo on my trip here, so I made sure to stop by to get my brother something.
It was my first time at their new location, and luckily, I found street parking right in front of the store. I was greeted immediately by Tiffany and she is such a sweetheart! My grandma is such a talker, and she was so friendly to her. She helped me with my purchases and made my shopping experience a good one. Can’t wait to rock my new shades!

9Five not only offers the coolest frames locally designed with the rarest materials and that ‘these are so different’ feel to it, but also incredible prices (between $ 70 – 100). Fantastic customer care, the girl working today was super friendly, helpful and cheerful. You get a friendly attentive service while spending as much as you want trying everything out.
The store is very hip and cute in turquoise blue and there are nice black and white photos that make it look like an art gallery as well. We left with a modern retro polarized pair of glasses at cheap price compared with most optic shops.
