Surfboard Rentals & Surf Lessons San Clemente

I stumbled upon this website and called them number listed looking for an exact quote for a large rental. When I first called I didn’t even know if was the correct number because I got welcomed with a rude «Hello» as if interrupted something. I asked for a quote on an order and he rudely told me «My prices are on my website» rather than explaining them to me. I went on to explain that we were looking to rent up to 15 body boards he gave me attitude and told me «15 I don’t have that». He said this very aggressively. I went to explain that I did not want to do business with him because of his lack of professionalism and he replied «F*** You» and then hung up. I would never ever recommend doing business with this company, not friendly, not kind, overall terrible experience.

Matt is the BOMB! I brought my teen aged daughter for a lesson and he was so polite and patient. She is kind of a prima dona so I was not expecting her to enjoy the lesson but Matt was so relaxed and calm with her that she had the best day of her summer learning how to surf. Matts equipment and wet suits were new and in great shape. Great selection of boards. Then she went to the beach and Matt gave me a cpl of pointers on my surfing. What a great dude snd what a great day! We will definitely be back.

Showed up to the the address given here on Unilocal and it ended up being just a house. So I decided to call the number to see how we can rent some surf boards and wetsuits for the day since there was some pretty good reviews about this place.
When I called he said he was busy doing a surfing lesson and he was just a one man show today, which was completely understandable. He then told me he could meet us at the house around 12 to get us our stuff. It was 10:30 and we didn’t want to wait an hour and a half. So we kindly told him thank you very much but we were going to try to look somewhere else due to time constraints. Once I said that he got completely aggressive… «WOOOOOAHHHHH ARE YOU FREAKIN SERIOUS!» I was dumbfounded and tried to explain myself. He then got upset and started bad mouthing other surf rental shops in the area and discredited them and said to watch out.
Overall he was very pushy over the phone and tried to make me rent his stuff. But like I said I understood he was busy, apparently he didn’t understand I couldn’t wait an hour and a half just to get our gear.

Matt made it so easy. Dropped the boards off and picked them up when we called. Also gave us some good tips and a good deal. Nice beginner boards and he was cool and down to earth. Seems to be what San Clemente is all about!

Personalized customer service! Matt was willing to help us by driving the paddleboards down to the beach so we did not need to carry them. Once we were down at the ocean we realized the wind was too strong for us based on our minimal paddle boarding experience. Since we had already paid and couldn’t paddle they were kind enough to give us a credit to use at a later date. When we decided to utilize the credit, Matt delivered the paddleboards to my home so my son and I could use them throughout the day at our leisure! Quality customer service is a rare find, look no further!

Place was really cool very beginner friendly to god to get a good of easy setup they bring st does and surf boards with them to beech. Great gear very friendly very very nice people and fun to hang out with. Good lessons and very very fun day!
