STAY AWAY!!! I would give less than one star if I could. The place reeked of cigarette smoke when I moved in even after they deep cleaned the carpets at my request. Management was supposed to do a walk through to talk about any issues with the apartment we wanted addressed and they never called me back. They came in and cut holes in our ceilings without so much as a notice that they would be entering our apartment. The holes were left there for more than a day and then they re-​entered with no notice to patch them. Then they sent me a survey to see if I was moving out and I filled it out saying that I would not be renewing my lease… in writing. However, that didn’t count and now on this last two days of my lease, I learn that I’m responsible for another month of rent because I didn’t write to them and say, hey I’m moving. Why sign a lease for a set period of time if you can’t actually move out at said set time. Needless to say, this has been the worst experience I’ve ever had in an apartment complex and I’ve lived in quite a few. The management team is unattentive and lax in doing their job and the owners love putting the fine print in the paperwork so they can suck money out of people. It should not be legal.

I made a Unilocal account just so I could write a review for this place; honestly wishing I could leave a 0 Star review. I lived there for just shy of a year, and my experience was SO BAD, I can’t recommend it to anyone.
1) The staff, while polite, is rarely helpful. Every time we went to them with complaints, they never got dealt with.
2) We put in 3 separate maintenance requests to have our heater fixed; for the entire year that we lived there we never had a working heater because no one ever fixed it. Every time a maintenance request DID get filled, the repair men would always break something else in the process. One actually irreparably broke our washing machine while replacing a fuse and the company/​apartments refused to take responsibility.
3) We were repeatedly harassed while moving in by the staff because we have a bulldog, and they were adamant that he would be a problem and we might have to get rid of him.
4) Our mail got stolen more times than we can count. We asked to have our mail held at the main office so it wouldn’t get stolen, and they would agree to hold our mail, then never do it (I’m still trying to get back 2 packages and a months worth of letters and bills, and I haven’t lived there since early November).
5) The tenants there DO NOT follow the apartment rules. Like clockwork, every time the staff goes home, the place becomes a zoo. Dogs run around the parking lots off-​leash (our dog was attacked multiple times), children run around unsupervised and have caused multiple minor car accidents, and holidays are noisy/​trash-​filled affairs.
6) The grounds just aren’t maintained. Trash and old food are all over the place, mostly in the decorative shrubs, the pool area, and children’s play area. Thanks to our neighbors, we had a shrub full of cigarette butts and junk food wrappers, and on more than one occasion we went to the pool only to find chicken bones or other grilled meat scraps not only on the grills and chairs, but actually in the pool.
7) The parking lot itself is so over-​packed that people regularly park along red curbs. While the apartments do have a towing company that is supposed to tow any cars illegally parked in the lot, I never saw anyone towed. The truck would arrive, and without fail, would leave empty handed after shooting the breeze with the car owner for a few minutes.
8) Any time we called the office or company and were told they’d have to call us back, it didn’t happen. The current record is 2 months waiting to hear back about a replacement shower head. Even physically going into the office wouldn’t speed things along; we’d just get told «we will deal with it right now and get back to you», then it’s back to waiting.
9) The majority of the equipment in the gym is broken and never gets repaired or even replaced. It just sits there.
10) If you use the community laundromat, either stay with your laundry the whole time, or expect to have your clothes stolen.
11) Anybody with pollen allergies should live elsewhere. The plants there are super polleny and they cut/​trim the plants multiple times a week. Sometimes the air would get so thick with pollen and plant matter that you could clearly see it (it would be coating your car, too).
I could go on and on with the issues I had at this place, but I’ll leave it at that. We were paying upwards of $ 1,900 a month to live in a place that looked like it was worth maybe $ 1,000 a month.

The staff at thi complex is great. But there is always one bad apple. And the name of that person is mike. He is rude to the custmers that live there and alway yells and walks into your home with out knocking on the door. Tows car that are in your space with a tag that goes with that space. Ive been with this complex for 4yrs. And know am leaving this great family living place to some other complex. Ben is the manger. Nice man and Jose the sales rep is awesome. iam going ro miss this place. Hope the problems of this place will be fixxed so my family and i can move back to this nice wonderful place we called home. Thank you Ben and Jose for all the great memorys… Bye the way we stayed and upgraded to a three bedroom and they moved mike somewhere else. and the manger Chritena and staff now are the best and hope they stay for ever. I’ve been here for a couple of years. The manager, Mike, is very helpful, but Jose is terrible. If ever you put in a fixing order, MAKE SURE it’s put in. I had to put in a single order 3 times to get the electric box fixed. The electricity was cutting out, which in turn cut out my cable and internet, but it is also a potential fire hazard which I stressed. I waited over a couple of weeks then checked on the order status. It wasn’t even in. I put it in again. Then waited another week. Nothing. Finally the third time the electricity went completely out, and he said someone would be there within an hour. I called him 5 hours later. He told me someone would fix it. I waited… 2 days. Throughout the whole time, Jose treated me like a pest as if I was an absolute inconvenience. I’m sorry I came into the office multiple times bc I was living w/​o electricity like colonial times, but if they would’ve put in the order and taken care of it the first time then maybe it could’ve all been avoided? These apts are a little old, so occasionally you will need something fixed. Usually it goes pretty smooth. Usually. Unfortunately that wasn’t the only incident, but none was as dire as the electricity. Just don’t have expectations is all I can say. Otherwise, the location is great…

I am writing this review because they left a paper on my door saying to leave a review from Jose Jordan. Jose showed me the apartment and did my paperwork but he messed up on everything and now I have to pay extra money. Do not go to jose he will ruin your paperwork. My apt literally still had pee on the toilet when I moved in, im only living here cause it’s close to base and that’s it. Also they have horrible customer service, I had an ad that said rent was $ 1550 and within the 10 minutes of me doing paperwork it jumped up to $ 1600. Very rude people and very rude service.

I have lived her since June 2012 and find some of the other reviews to be opposite to my experience, then I saw they were two years old. I find my apartment to be bright and cheerful, the view is exceptional, I have posted a coupld of photos and want anyone interested to know that I think the Management and Maintenance staffs here are very client focused. Pacific Pointe is located one mile from the ocean affording wonderful views and fantastic sunsets plus an ocean breeze most of the time. This is a happy place and staff hosts several get togethers/​mixers every month or so.
The residents are friendly and it is like being part of a neighborhood where a big bonus is the sharing that goes on from a population that is multi generation/​sultural/​hobby /​and careers.

Problem after problem with this place. I’ve got a giant hole in my bedroom ceiling because a broken pipe was leaking through my roof! Came home from work and my mattress was soaked. Another time me and my roommates had to vacate the apartment for 5 days because there was mold growing in the cabinets. Also, a month after we moved in another pipe broke leaking extremely hot water under the bathroom floor. We had to vacate again while plumbers drilled a hole through my bedroom wall and in the bathtub. Had to remove my roommates toilets to access through there. Ridiculous. Then don’t get me started on the gardeners. How many times a week do they need to trim the bushes directly outside my bedroom window? Lots of kids running around making noise. A very non-​impressive gym. The only good thing this complex may have going for it is the fact that it is directly off the freeway.
