I am retired from building custom homes so I do have experience in the building trade. My wife and I decided to do a major remodel on our Dana Point beach front condo. We interviewed a number of local contractors before picking Mark Meintel for the job. Mark is a no nonsense honest man. He presented a construction budget based on our construction plans as drawn by a professional architect and verified by the engineers. There were no surprises. Mark has stayed within the budget and we are a bit ahead of schedule. His subcontractors are professional and very good at what they do.

Run from this guy. He gave my daughter and her husband a bid for a remodel and they started doing it, demolished the home, and the number went up 100%. He has agreed to give back some of their money over a 5 month period but now they have a home demolished and not enough money to finish it as planned. What a shark. He should lose his license. He doesn’t deserve even 1 star.
