Established in 2005.

Guillobel Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu was created in September of 2005 by a 4th degree Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu and Martial Arts Master, Sensei Paulo Guillobel, after he came for a surfing trip in San Clemente and fell in love for the city.

Our 5 year old twin boys started training at Guillobel this summer and we could not be happier.
After looking at other martial arts and visiting another Academy I chose Guillobel for these reasons… we felt immediately welcome, Coach Andre took the time to meet our boys and explain the program. Sensei Paulo called to follow up when they said, found out what we were looking for and how they could serve our family. Coach Chad had two private lessons with the boys before they went into a regular class.
At each class Coach Chad meets the children where they are in supports and encourages their growth. The curriculum includes homework designed to support using the principles of Jiu Jitsu in their lives.
Our boys are excited to meet the challenges at each class and are being more confident, patient and respectful at home.

This Andy P. guy is a kook. I’m 42 and I’ve been around organized sports for almost my entire life and this is the best brother and sisterhood feeling around. Guillobel BJJ isn’t just an academy, it’s a family. Sensei Paulo and his entire staff make you feel welcome and wanting to come back every day. My kids (13 and 8 years old) train here too and Paulo and his staff love these kids like they’re their own. You want to be a champion, then come get trained by real ones. I WILL always promote Guillobel BJJ Academy for how they’ve changed mine and my family’s lives on and off the mat. OBRIGADO!!!

At first I thought Guillobel Brazilian Jiu-​Jitsu was a little bit far from my house in Talega, but went there to try it out. They immediately made me part of the family and the program fitted my lifestyle so much that it paid off driving the extra 5 mins. I like quality of instruction and the family environment.

There is no parallel to the qualify of instruction and high level of grappling training at Guillobel Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The academy offers a variety of classes at different times… it flows perfectly with my work schedule, and I am grateful to have is so close to home and work.

Starting Monday Dec 5th, ALL classes will be taught at the new location at 621 N. El Camino Real, Suite A, San Clemente CA 92 672. It’s in the Farmers and Merchants building, you can’t miss it. The new place is awesome.

Paulo Guillobel is the highest ranking and one of the most accomplished Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructors in Orange County. The people who train at the academy treat you like family and are friends on and off the mat. Unlike other local academy’s, you get to train with at least one black belt every class AND there are no long term contracts. Both of my young kids (4 and 5 years old, boy and girl) train here and love it.
